Outstanding Tiramisu both here and the venue near the Spanish steps. The best in Rome for Classico. No questions. Soft and well coffee'd sponge with creamy layers above and the bonus crunch of chunks of chocolates sprinkled on top as you leave. What more could you want from a pudding! The ice-cream is also fabulous too. 5 euros, take my money please.

We come here with friends sometimes, mostly for the tiramisu. Even though you can find better tiramisu in Rome, this location has a nice atmosphere and it’s a good place to sit. The classic tiramisu is good enough and well-balanced. We also tried the gelato once, but it felt too touristy and colorful, not really my taste. Service is average. They ask for payment at the table before the dessert arrives. We ordered tea with it, which went really well. Parking is a big problem around here, since it’s close to Re di Roma square and the area is always busy. Still, it’s a nice spot to meet up and chat and don’t expect high quality

We tried 4 items: Tiramisu Classique, Mont Blanc, Cannoli, and café crema. 1. Tiramisu was good, classic. 2. Mont Blanc was the worst I've had in this life time. This should not be sold, it is disgraceful how bad it was. 3. Cannoli was not good. The filling flavor was off and it was poorly filled. Only the ends had ricotta, the entire center was empty. 4. The café crema was too sweet, not enjoyable. In the 14 days I've been in Italy, I've been in Venice, Florence, Chianti, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and Rome. This place was the worst and the only place I felt like my money was wasted. Do not go here.

Google
They have different tastes of tiramisu I tried the the pistachio one. It was good and it was a new taste for me. I liked it, but it wasn’t something that I say I will come to have that one again. But I think it worth trying. The staff were super friendly and professional The cafeteria itself looks good and it’s clean

Some staff are nice but the rest are not..typical italian customer service. Luckily their tiramisu is above good, otherwise nothing special here. The ambience is okay.

Google
Amazing Tiramisu, fare quantity for the price and big variety of flavors. I definitely recommend purchasing tiramisu here as it is cheaper and more delicius than other places.

Very nice tiramisu but the chocolate chips on top was unnecessary 😅

Best tiramisu in the world with a wide variety!

Yelp
Definitely the best Tiramisu we had in Rome! Perfectly soft and creamy and fresh. And good balance of coffee flavor and the mascarpone as well. So so so good! Classic Tiramisu was #1. Pistachio Tiramisu was also really delicious! Actually had the pistachio flavor and was really smooth and delicious as well. Panna Cotta was out of this world! I don't think I have ever had a Panna Cotta this good!! Asked to have it with the chocolate which was essentially just Nutella on top, but so good! Husband also got the decaf chocolate coffee something cappuccino? No idea what it was called but he finished it in one sip and said it was really good. Did not need sweetener or anything.

Yelp
A very well known tiramisu location, but not the best imo! (I thought two sizes had better tiramisu in terms of flavor & price) This tiramisu was still really good though. It is more creamier than other tiramisus (higher cream to cake ratio). The pistachio tiramisu had crushed pistachios on top, which was the perfect addition to the soft cream and cake underneath. My friend and I inhaled this dessert in a few minutes. We also took it to eat at the Spanish steps at night. It was enjoyable to eat this dessert while taking in the night life in Rome!

Yelp
There's a reason why Pompi has a great reputation- it's very good! We went for the tiramisu, of course, and it was divine. So light, airy, yet still filled with flavor. The packaging is very portable, which makes it great for carryout situations. I'll be back next time!

Yelp
Pompi is my very favorite place but however quality is going down a bit. Still the best tiramisù that I know in Rome.

Yelp
Oh my goodness....once we found this place we came back several days in a row for more! We had gelato, tiramisu, cheesecakes, and more...three of us shared bites so we could get a taste of all the different goodies they had to offer. We were quite pleased with it all, but would say the cheesecake was a top winner.

Yelp
This is review for Pompi Trevi (I can't seem to find that specific store on Yelp). Amazing tiramisu!!! We tried classic and pistachio. Both were great. I think I liked the pistachio even more. The classic one had chocolate chips and the pistachio one had nuts on top which added great texture. We also tried a chocolate cake which was very moist. The pistachio ice cream was also really delicious. Def one of the better ones we've had on this trip. I'd def go back if I'm back in Rome. Please open one in NYC!

Yelp
Romans come here... Real, sure nuff, 200% Romans. That said, I was with my Roman friend & we wanted a little treat so she guided us here. Good stuff. There's seating inside & out (ample) & this is the original location too. Service was prompt with a smile & they immediately offered to help with suggestions... As we are both well versed in Italian sweets, there was no need. We ordered the original tiramisu (recommended) & the pistachio version. We also ordered some rum babà for me (I have a lil problem refusing these). Every bite was delicious. The atmosphere was cool & quiet. I really do recommend Pompi if you are in this area with a sweet craving.

Yelp
We were craving Tiramisu after a long dinner with much wine involved and went round the corner to Pompi, way past midnight. It was very busy (a Friday night) but we could easily choose our Tiramisu - many different flavours available such as fragole (strawberry), pistachio or Classico for example - in a small cardboard box. I went for Classico and we had it right there in its small box with an espresso, at the counter standing up. Service is not overly friendly - but that is Rome -but efficient. I don't remember what the cost was but it was fine especially for what it was: a delectable, moist Tiramisu exactly as it should be. The right amount of mascarpone, biscuit fingers and chocolate with a hint of coffee - surprisingly delicious for a small cardboard box. Pompi is very popular with the younger crowd seeking a pick-me-up after some heavy drinking during weekends and I can understand why ;-) They offer brunch on weekends, and even though the interior is quite 70s we would give it a try.

Yelp
Apparently tiramisu is pretty big in Italy which I had no idea. Show's how much more I need to get out. Visually, the dessert options at Pompi are quite stunning. The "restaurant" itself was more than interesting. We were sat and our order was placed. While waiting for our food and drinks it felt as though we were in a night club. Lighting was unique and the club music was on the louder side. Still, the food was served promptly and the taste was good. Even though tiramisu isn't my favorite dessert it's not bad. I'd say if you're looking for a "tiramisu experience" then Pompi might be the way to go.

Yelp
Romans come here for aperitivo & tiramisu. It's to go to place for tiramisu. Pistachio & hazelnut tiramisu is to die for. Aperol Spritz is undoubtedly the most widespread and commonly drunk aperitif in Italy I first tried and enjoyed its unique taste here at Pompi. Do yourself a favor and visit Pompi in San Giovanni not the franchise close to the Spanish steps!

Yelp
Award Winning Tiramisu! It may be off the beaten path, but it's the only place in Rome that serves the most delicious Tiramisu. The history speaks for itself, and once you try it, I'm confident that you will agree. The staff is not friendly; I felt rushed while placing our order. Once you get your delicious desserts, nothing else matters. Take your sweet time to savor every bite and be one with this extraordinary experience!

Yelp
I am Tiramisuuuuu in love! Luckily for me, I stayed in San Giovanni which is a more residential non-touristy area just outside the ancient walls. In Rome, 3pm is not a slow time since locals seem to enjoy their food and drink for hours upon hours at all times of day. So I was lucky to nab an outdoor table and soak up the fall Roman sun. I normally don't care for tiramisu. But THIS tiramisu...oh god yes. Light and flaky and spongey all at the same time, and not overly sweet. I also ordered an iced coffee which, had I known was basically a cold espresso shot, I would have ordered differently. A classic American mistake ;) They also have gelato, cakes, pastries and lots of other goodies. Tons of seating indoors. Service is great also. SWEET.

Yelp
If you want to eat the famous tiramisu they have it gere in different flavours. Classic, strawberry, pistach, or banana. It was so good, but the fact tgat I gave this place only 3 stars is for the noncozy environment. You had to drink your coffe standing, and the staff was very arogant. Loud and messy. The toilets were bouth broken...

Yelp
Love all the deserts especially the strawberry Tiramisu. Happy hour buffet starts at 6:30 pm and they stay open until about 1:30 pm for late night cravings!! This is a must try when in Rome.

Srijani G.

Yelp
Tiramisu was the best tiramisu I have ever tried. I also ordered 1000 sfoglie which was was even better. I also ordered Gelato, but, it was quite good.
google avatar

Yelp
Good tiramisu. Actually it's really good. The classic and strawberry are both great! Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. There's no rush to eat and leave. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for something sweet!

Yelp
I am on the fence about Pompi..... This is likely a 3.5 star review. It wasn't bad, but I just don't think I could justify the 4th star. This is the original location, near San Giovanni, which is more of a residential area than a tourist area. The cafe is filled with mostly locals. I'd say (depending on the weather), it's best to sit out front at one of the tables. Service was typical for Rome - decent. Not overly fast or friendly, but that was expected. They had no wifi, which I found strange for such a chain. I had a glass of brachetto and the banana, dark chocolate and nutella tiramisu. It definitely lived up to the hype - it was really good. However, it wasn't so mind blowing that we returned, and it was right down the street from my friend's apartment. There are just far too many other places that can do the same thing (and I am not a huge sweets eater).

Yelp
It's a little confusing. You want to go to the counter and order based on what you see. But instead you sit at the tables and wait for someone to come take your order. The pastries were good. Not the most amazing I've ever had, but good. Avoid the macarons.

Yelp
I agree with Andrew, this is indeed the best tiramisu in Rome and it does take a bit to get to. But as inspiration, let me correct him: this is the best tiramisu in ITALY and/or THE WORLD. I encourage folks to challenge me on that. It is located off of a busy roundabout south of the Termini train station. It is close to the metro stop Re di Roma. If you take the metro and get off there, just ask anyone where Bar Pompi is and they will point you to the right spoke of the wheel. The Bar is hopping at night with Italians, especially with young Italians (think high school guys posturing on their motos in the parking lot out front). It is also a go-to place for young Italian couples to get kissy over an espresso and a tiramisu. Why don't you join? On a nice evening, you will have to do a bit of hovering to grab a great table out front. The tiramisu is soooo worth it. Worth the commute. A taxi from Termini shouldn't cost more than 15 euro. Or, it is possible to walk from Termini or the Colosseo, as long as you stick to the main streets, Via Appia Nuova along the way has lots of shopping options as well to help you work off the tiramisu. Parking is available if you circle the block a couple of times. CLOSED MONDAYS!!

Yelp
As a student studying abroad this was a great place to study. They have lots of seating and free WiFi. The staff was very kind. Although I haven't had any of the pastries, one of my friends had the chestnut cake and loved it!

Yelp
I need tiramisu whenever I'm in Italy, so I did my research before heading to Rome. My fellow Yelpers, as well as all of the travel blogs I read, told me to head to Bar Pompi immediately. SO glad I did - I'd agree it's the best tiramisu in Rome. Location: If you're looking at most maps of Rome, this place is so far away that it's off the map. However, it's so easy to get here: take the metro to the Re di Roma stop, and then it's literally a 2 minute walk from there. Food: On a tight budget, we skipped expensive dinner prices and went for aperitivo instead. There's an 8 euro minimum drink order, and then there were 5-6 dishes including rice, pasta salad, barley salad (YUM!), cheesy bread, crostini, pizza, and what looked like miniature arancini. Overall, the food wasn't too bad, though some dishes were getting cold quickly. Go up and serve yourself as much as you want! Drinks: Lovely! My favorites were the Georgia Peach, classic mojito, and the good ol' Aperol spritz. There's a pretty extensive drink menu, so have fun! Dessert: 4.50 euro for a little slice of heaven, also known as tiramisu. AMAZING. There are 4 or 5 types (classic, or topped with mixed berries, strawberries, pistachios, etc.) - all of us got different kinds and loved each one of them. Still, classic tiramisu will always have my heart. I got it without whipped cream, but I'm sure it'd be sensational with it. Everything else: A little rough getting seated - just make sure to talk to a server as soon as you come in, otherwise they'll think you're just looking at the bar. We sat in the back for aperitvo, and they had blue lighting + a DJ spinning some disco music...? Odd choice for aperitivo, but the music got better during the night. Can't wait to come back. Tiramisu, I miss you already!

Yelp
Known as the kingdom of tiramisu!! The original location is near San Giovanni. It is better than the new franchise that popped up near the Spanish Steps. I recommend the original tiramisu. Don't be lured in by the special flavors available on the menu. Some desserts are best without extra bells and whistles!!! They sell gelato and other desserts, but come here for the tiramisu!!

R N.

Yelp
Best tiramisu in Rome! Grab a box of each flavor, you will not be disappointed! Just watch out for the hours and long line :)

Yelp
Excellent panini, very good cappuccino and delicious tiramisu! The gelato are very tasty too!

Chris T.

Yelp
Excellent coffee. We had a cold espresso and it was delicious! It was strong with a tint of sweetness, not bitter at all. I have no idea how I would deal with Starbucks espresso when I go back to Canada. The tiramisu is a must try. We had the hazelnut one but will definitely go back and try other flavours.

Yelp
Great tiramisu. The one with strawberries was killer. Loved it and I walked 30 minutes to get here.

Yelp
Great place to have a delicious Italian dessert (especially tiramisu)! Waitstaff was very friendly (our waiter even gave us a free bottle of water when we asked for tap) and prices are pretty reasonable. They have a wide variety of tiramisu and all the ones we tried were amazing - especially the pistachio and hazelnut ones. Cheap and expansive list of coffee and hot chocolate drinks as well. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We stayed in a hotel across Pompi, and ended up having breakfast there every morning. For about 4euros we'd get 2 cappuccinos and 2 croissants. You can sit inside (it doesnt look like it is big from outside but it is huge inside) or outside. We tried the ice creams and the tiramisu, as well as different pastries. I am french and I set the bar quite high when it comes to pastries and food in general, and Pompi didn't let me down.
google avatar

Yumi S.

Yelp
Best friggin tiramisu I've had in Italy yet. We've been to Venice and Florence and this place wins hands down. We got it to go because restaurants and cafes tend to charge more for sit down. As we were walking through the streets, people were staring and pointing at our to go bag. That's when we knew this was going to be a hit or a miss. It's a bit out of the way, but for foodies I believe it's well worth it. And on the Airbnb guide this is one of the top recommended places by locals especially for tiramisu.

Yelp
The desserts especially the Tiramisu is delicious they also have very good pastries and coffees

Yelp
One of the best tiramisu that I have ever tried in Rome - moist, perfect texture and absolutely delicious. I personally think this is the best outlet in Rome - the seating space is spacious and has a relaxed atmosphere. The location is also in a very residential area of Rome - where we really see many locals having an espresso and a pastry.

Yelp
best tiramisu in Rome, but it takes a while to get to
