Ponipirika delivers an unforgettable soup curry experience! The broth boasts incredible depth, rich with spices that linger beautifully on the palate. The vegetables and chicken were perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and infused with flavor. The warm, inviting service elevated the meal, with waiters who were attentive and genuinely friendly. A must-visit for curry lovers in Kitazawa!

Best soup curry I've ever had, including while in Hokkaido. They have an English menu. Highly recommend getting grilled cheese for your rice and adding extra soup. I got the shrimp broth and thought it was so delicious! And I loved the chicken and all the vegetables. Family friendly too!

Incredible soup curry! I didn't want to eat fried food with my group and wanted something with vegetables, and I found this place. They have an English menu so it was helpful for me to find something I wanted when I was alone. You can choose a lot of customizations and spice level- I think I got a 6 and I thought the balance of the soup was really good. The shrimp flavor with the vegetables was so good, and the chicken was cooked really well with a lot of flavor. I got the grilled cheese on rice like some other comments recommended and that was very yummy. Also got their homemade ginger ale and that was incredible- definitely recommend if you want something with vegetables and a break from the fried food!

If you’re a fan of Sichuan or Korean cuisine, I’d suggest choosing at least level 6 spiciness for maximum satisfaction. The curry soup made with veggies and chicken is spot-on—I’d personally recommend the tomato base. My partner went for the venison curry, which was both unique and packed with deep, rich flavors.

They accept card and cash. You have to walk up to the 2nd floor. There is an English and Japanese menu. I ordered the 20 vegetables with crispy chicken, level 3 spicy, with Japanese style soup because the shrimp was out, large rice and a house made ginger ale. While it is a little more pricey for the curry it was very good, might have been the best one I had in Shimokitazawa. Also there’s free refills on rice also.

Delicious soup curry, we got the 20 vegetables with chicken option, and recommend taking the ebi soup option, the umami flavours there are on point. We had level 3/4 spice and it wasn’t super spicy so I guess if you like things hot you should go for level 6 onwards We also liked the seasonal very berry lassi, was great! Grilled cheese on rice was nice but probably can be skipped. They accept cards here. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

A little hidden restaurant, wasn’t too packed on a Friday night. But was curious to try curry soup! Cool that they had English menus. Drinks were pretty awesome. For those who like to try the lemon/citrus or ginger ale flavours - I thought they really did a good job!

We braved the sun and high temperatures to venture to Shimokitazawa this afternoon and came there at lunch time and lucky for us this is a v short walk from the train station. The quaint little soup curry house offers a few types of curry and a few drinks obviously India inspired lassi. Everything we ordered was just FANTASTIC 😊 the crispy chicken with lots of veggies and added an egg was amazing with really a lot of amazing veggies. Especially lovely root veggies and perfectly charred broccoli and perfect balance of the soup curry snd av well cooked crispy full leg of chicken was soft and succulent! Kids ordered ehat looked like a chicken katsu curry which was also wonderful. if you are in the area or even not, this place is a short 1 stop away from crowded Shibuya! A must visit
