Views are amazing! The first time I visited I went at sunset time and it was very crowded but it’s still beautiful. The second time I woke up for sunrise and I was literally the only one overlooking at both of the bridges. So lucky to be here! 🌁 🌄 🇮🇹

The bridge offers a great view of the Ponte Vecchio, making it perfect for taking pictures. In the evening, the perfect spotlight is created, making it ideal for capturing the scene.

The bridge is often considered the most elegant and architecturally refined stone bridge spanning the Arno River, representing the height of Renaissance bridge design. Notably, it is the world’s first elliptical arch bridge, composed of three shallow elliptical arches. Originally built as a wooden bridge in 1252, it was reconstructed in stone after a flood in 1333. After collapsing again in 1557, the current version was built between 1567 and 1571, commissioned by Cosimo I de’ Medici and designed by Bartolomeo Ammannati. Destroyed in 1944 during World War II, the bridge was meticulously rebuilt in 1958 using the original materials and plans. At night, the softly lit arches reflected in the river create a picture-perfect, romantic scene.

Elegantly arched, timeless beauty over the Arno This Renaissance masterpiece, designed by Bartolomeo Ammannati (with Michelangelo’s possible input), was built between 1567–1569 on the site of older medieval bridges . It holds the title of the world’s oldest elliptical‑arch bridge, featuring three flattened arches (29 m outer spans, 32 m center) meticulously carved from limestone .

A magnificent bridge with four statues at the each corner. Ancient architecture contrasts with modern boutiques that are located nearby making a nice transition to a square. Bridge is not that busy at midday so it’s easy to walk around and take pictures with the great view

Amazing viewpoint for backdrops of Ponte Vecchio. Just like you can’t see the New York skyline unless you get to New Jersey or Brooklyn, you can’t get a good view of Ponte Vecchio when you are fighting through the crowded bazaar that’s in it. Come here for a peaceful venue to take a few shots (or, in my case, a few dozen), sit and soak in the view, and enjoy a few moments of tranquility looking at the iconic Florentine scene.

Yelp
The "Holy Trinity Bridge" is named for the nearby Basilica di Santa Trinita https://www.yelp.com/biz/basilica-di-santa-trinita-firenze?hrid=_HOZbsEAMD4p7GBFRSU-lQ and dates back to 1252 at this site. It is the oldest elliptic arch bridge in the world and crosses teh Arno between Ponte Vecchio https://www.yelp.com/biz/ponte-vecchio-firenze?hrid=NKwmanPnwPUKMkkNMwMcow to the wast and Ponte alla Carraia https://www.yelp.com/biz/ponte-alla-carraia-firenze?hrid=F2pGIQICjjNsRYi2ELsdgQ to the west. Constructed by Bartolomeo Ammannati from 1567 to 1569 it started off as a wooden bridge in 1252 that only lasted until 1259 when it was washed away in a flood. The next iteration was a stone bridge that was destroyed in 1557. The retreating Germans destroyed the bridge in 1944 and this current structure was rebuilt in 1958 with the original stones recovered from the riverbed. This bridge is open to vehicular and motorcycle traffic but there are curb-protected sidewalks on both sides for pedestrians. The view from here, much like the other bridges in Firenze, is wonderful and worth consideration for your sunset photos. [Review 17059 overall - 248 in Italy - 575 of 2022.]

Yelp
Ponte Santa Trìnita means Holy Trinity Bridge. It's named for the church. The bridge goes across the Arno River. This is the world's oldest elliptic arch bridge. You will find Ponte Santa Trìnita east of the famous Ponte Vecchio. The original bridge was made of wood and made in the thirteenth century. When it was destroyed, the architect Bartolommeo Ammannati made the bridge you see today in 1567-1569. It's made of limestone. In 1608 when Cosimo II married Maria of Austria, four statues names Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter were made for Ponte Santa Trìnita to celebrate the wedding. You can read about the history during World War II. In 1958, the build was repaired. One of the pretty statues head was lost but it was found in the Arno River in 1961. Very beautiful art!

Yelp
The perfect spot to finish your mini tour around Piazza Santa Trinita is the bridge. Spend the evening watching the sunset over the city, bring your camera to capture the amazing colors, and enjoy some of the most picturesque sights you have ever seen.

Yelp
The Ponte Santa Trìnita (English translation: Holy Trinity Bridge) is a beautiful Renaissance-style bridge on the Arno River in Firenze, Italy. The construction of the bridge was completed in 1569, making the Ponte Santa Trinita the oldest elliptical arch bridge in the world. The bridge was destroyed by German soldiers in 1944, but rebuilt in 1958 with the original stones that were recovered from the Arno River. Fragments of the bridge were not found so stones from the Boboli Gardens were used to rebuild the Ponte Santa Trinita This bridge is often casted in the shadows of the Ponte Vecchio, located upstream, but the Ponte Santa Trinita is just as magnificent!

Yelp
An incredible must-read history of the most resilient bridge in Florence. This bridge was destroyed in World War II and only the pillars were left standing. After the war the bridge was reconstructed in 1958 using the original design, with the fallen pieces retrieved from the Arno as well as stone from its original quarry - the Boboli Gardens. Even the statues are the original ones! The bridge's pieces continued to be found in the Arno river thru the years, such as one of the statue's head found in 1961 downstream. But Germans were not the only ones to show some "love" to this bridge. The very first Santa Trinita bridge built in 1252, made with wood, fell 7 years later due to excessive weight from a crowd; a new stone version of it was swept away in a flood in 1333; then in 1557 the Arno gave this bridge the ultimate GTFO and destroyed it completely once again. Today's version of the bridge was constructed by the Florentine architect Bartolomeo Ammanati in 1569, then bombed by Germany in 1944 during WW2. Named after the nearby Santa Trinita Church, this bridge was a major link in the medieval street plan of old Florence. This elegant bridge is one of my favorite spots to go to. It has so much history but is often overshadowed by the Ponte Vecchio. Us locals like to sit on the bridge's pillars, drink a beer, read a book or eat a gelato as we admire the beauty of the city, tucked away from all the busy craziness the city can bring. This is one tough bridge!

Yelp
Ponte Santa Trinita or as I like to call it "one hellova romantic bridge". This bridge makes for such a beautiful sight at night while perfectly reflecting in the water. A photographer's dream to capture such illusive symmetry! While staying in Florence, we had to cross the bridge to get to our airbnb. This made for a long walk back but it wasn't until the bridge's end that I would start complaining because that is when I wouldn't have anything as pretty to distract me. Come out here while enjoying a gelato cone and take some memorable pictures or just cozy up with your honey and see the pretty city stacked alongside.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite bridges to sit and admire the Ponte Vecchio. Especially good views at night. Go at sunset or just after for dramatic views down river or turn around and get pictures of the Ponte Vecchio with the sun reflecting off it. This is also one of the optimum spots to watch fireworks set off from Piazzella Michelangelo with the Ponte Vecchio and reflections off the Arno.
