What a fun place Pool Bar Jim’s is for visitors and locals. We stopped on a gorgeous breezy fall afternoon for cocktails and lunch. Out tropical exotic drinks were superb. The extra cup of cocktail is terrific. We enjoyed two delicious lunches; Ashley’s Mac Wrap and the Fried Grouper Sandwich with hot crinkle fries- both very tasty. Super fun tasty and scenic beach front bar. Highly recommend.

The best vibes on the island. We got kicked out of the pool but everyone was so nice about it and the drinks were amazing. Would highly highly recommend.

Pool Bar Jim’s is fantastic! Small and rather tight location between two pools on the grounds of The Seacrest condo complex with easy beach access. Drinks were terrific and the cheeseburger was huge and the best I’ve had in Hilton Head. Servers were really pleasant and attentive, bartenders were no-nonsense - also pleasant, but stayed on task. They weren’t also trying to be entertainers. They mixed good drinks fast. We will never fail stop in while in Hilton Head. Loved it!

Visiting Hilton Head for the first time in 25 years. Had lunch here because of the great Google reviews, and they’re not wrong! Walked up from the beach. Food is good and drinks are amazing! Love the laid-back vibe. lots of outdoor seating and lots of umbrellas for shade. We see why this is a local institution. Highly recommended!

While it was in the 90s and 90% humid away from the water … such nice cool ocean breeze here with great view of the sea. Lots of frozen cocktails whipped up constantly by the talented bartenders.

If you are in Hilton Head Island, you must make a trip to Coligny Beach to visit the awesome staff at Pool bar Jim's. Not only are they the best, they make great drinks. Their frozen concoctions are out of this world delicious. Our next trip I will be there every day. It was our favorite. Great location, great staff and amazing drinks. Next time we need to try food too.

Been coming here for years. The BEST thing is all of their fruit drinks are made with fresh fruits right in front of you. Mango, bananas, strawberries, pineapple, oranges, etc. no purées! Food is really good too. Worth a visit!

Great outdoor bar with outstanding drinks and service. The specialty is frozen, tropical and exotic cocktails but cold beer and regular drinks are also great. The bartenders are a great crew, friendly and talented. Jim is great to speak with! The attached restaurant has a great grouper sandwich as well as wings, burgers other offerings. I love the house salad with grilled chicken. The sweet tea glazed chicken breast sandwich is amazing! The bar closes at 8pm and the restaurant stops serving at 6pm so come early or just walk up from the beach and spend a pleasant afternoon with a Pina Colada!

Pool Bar Jim's is a fantastic little spot that's definitely worth visiting if you're in Hilton Head Island. Tucked away in the Seacrest Resort, it's a small poolside bar that's open to the public, making it a great find for both locals and visitors. Parking and entry are on Avocet Road--just look for the signs! You'll wind your way through the hotel parking garage, and soon enough, you're at the bar. It's intimate, with two bars offering seating along with some tables and chairs. We had to park at Coligny Plaza because the parking was full so we decided to walk over to Pool Bar Jim's instead--it's a short, easy walk from the plaza, so if you're already in the area, it's super convenient. The drinks here are nothing short of amazing. You can absolutely taste the fresh fruit in every sip, which really sets them apart from other places. I tried the Lava Flow, and let me tell you, it was dangerously good! They even give you an 'overflow' cup, and that alone was enough to get me tipsy. There's definitely rum in there, and the balance of flavors is just perfect. On the food side, we tried the burger, chili burger, and onion rings. Every bite was delicious, with juicy burgers cooked to perfection and crispy onion rings that hit the spot. The service was friendly and quick, which made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere with fantastic drinks and food, Pool Bar Jim's is a must-visit. Whether you're there for lunch, dinner, or just a drink by the beach, you're in for a treat. Highly recommend checking it out--especially if you love tropical cocktails and laid-back vibes!

I dropped by PBJ's after reading an article in a travel publication. Its located at the bottom of the Seacrest resort. This is a true dive bar poolside at a resort on the beach. Its cool how they have patches from around the globe (I believe), from military, law enforcement, fire departments, et al. My late father was in the Navy, so I was happy to see patches for the aircraft carriers Coral Sea and Enterprise. I also saw license plates fr other states giving a shout out to HH. The bartenders are cool. The only downside is the bar closes @ 8 pm. This is more of a day and late afternoon place to hit in HH.

PBJs is an amazing place to relax & have some great food & drinks. The views are amazing as it's right on the ocean. There are plenty of seats & tables to choose from during off season. The grilled grouper sandwich is absolutely delicious & the drinks are fresh & wonderful.

When you're at the beach, the majority of the time you don't need a top grade Manhattan or Old Fashioned to make you happy. You want to see the sand, hear the waves, feel the sun, and order up all the cheap drinks the bartender will send your way. Rum (cheap at that) and Coke, boozy slushies, and the occasional grouper sandwich or burger when you get hungry. Live music? Nope. Televisions with national sports playing? Nope. Updated decor to draw your attention? You know the answer. And you also don't care. You want to unwind wearing your flip flops, wet swimming trunks/bathing suit, and all. Maybe you'll doze off and get sunburnt on just your left side. Maybe you'll read a book that you paid .99 for at the local gas station. And maybe you'll contemplate the deep things of life and make a decision that changes your entire trajectory. But whatever you do while at Pool Bar Jim's, I know for sure you're going to leave there feeling really really good.

Well, I'd heard nothing but great things about PBJ's frozen drinks and grouper sandwiches. Today, 5 of us headed over only to learn the cook, who works a second job at another local restaurant, left at 2 pm for Val Day rush, so kitchen was closed! So close to that grouper, and yet so far! We decided on a cocktail each before heading out. I had a virgin pina colada, which was excellent, and priced reasonably (see my other mocktail experience at Santa Fe Cafe). Friends had Pain Killers (reg and frozen) and a Bahama Mama. I should have had a Lava Flow--table next to us had those and they looked amazing. I'll have to come back--for grouper and more drinks! The bar was hopping, sun shining, though a bit chilly at 60°.

Seriously some of the best beach drinks I've ever had. We loved it so much we came back and made it our last stop before leaving Hilton Head. The people working there are very nice, too. Will definitely be looking forward to returning the next time we're in the area.

It's little outdoor frozen drink place. Very chill vibes, many people are in their swim suits and flip flops. When we went, it was a little busy, and there were bees flying around the "bar" area. One of the bartenders said they were doing the day prior. Be mindful of this. There's a lot of fresh fruits and sweets and it bees love this! We sat away from the bar and didn't have issues though. The drinks tasted so good! And there was even a smaller extra cup with more because our bartender made a lot. I don't think I tasted the alcohol in mine- so be mindful of this. It tasted good more than anything.

We had such high hopes for this spot but it was a major disappointment! Upon entering we were rudely spoken to by the parking attendants for the bar, who had a major attitude. I'd assume you'd want people to feel welcome! it's unfortunate this "pool bar" is beautiful but you can't even go in the pools unless you are staying at the hotel! Sorry Jim, I'm sure the drinks are good but we were turned off by the rude attendant and decided to take ourselves elsewhere.

Best bar ever!!!! My go to order is the Painkiller on the rocks. The frozen drinks are so fun and yummy as well. All the bartenders and servers are super friendly and will make you feel welcome! The food is great too. The grouper sandwich is one of the better ones I've had. The vibes are great as it's right on the water front near the beach!

PBJ is an institution and a must stop for us. Sit near the beach and enjoy the best drinks on the island. Don't miss the mojito, especially if Jim is tending bar! Also another personal fave the peanut butter chocolate drink BONUS: they have their own parking spaces.

This place is amazing, we tried about every bar and grill on Hilton Head but this beats them all for drinks, and ambiance. It was a downpour when we found this place in late July 2024. We had to wait for the rain to break, run for it and then wait for someone to leave the bar before we could sit. All the way from Colorado and never have visited here before, It was during a squall and Hurricane, but it cleared right up. The drinks, Oreo and mudslide were awesome!!! We would have gone back but unfortunately, we found it the day before leaving, but we shall return in2025. Gordon and Linda

I really enjoyed Pool Bar Jim's! My only recommendation is that there should be an easier to find route for this bar. Going through the parking garage seemed a little uneasy and not ideal if you're coming from another nearby beach resort. I got the peanut butter cup drink and the bartenders were really kind in giving us the extra as a complimentary second drink. Views are great especially at sunset. Would recommend!

Hidden behind the Sandy dunes in Hilton Head is an Awesome Tiki Speakeasy! All the bar tenders are great, If you are lucky to get Jim he is the master of the Tiki Rum drinks! The wings, Hamburger wrap and the Garbage Dog hit the spot! The service is amazing!

My only regret this trip. I didn't buy the banana colada or a painkiller. I was already full from eating the garbage dog (first time, and it was good). Kids had milkshakes and they looked freaking amazing. Same server we have had in years past - it was like a family reunion. Saw Jim too, he turned 75 this year. You must stop here when in HHI.

Hilton Head's hidden gem.. literally! It took us 30 minutes of walking in circles around the condo complex it was in, but on Avocet Road there are signs that lead you to the pool bar. You have to walk through the parking garage and to the complex's pool... it is there I swear!! There were two bars, one on the lower deck and the other on the high deck, but when we got there at 7 pm (they close at 8 pm), the higher deck was done serving for the night, so we sat at the lower deck. Mark the bartender was awesome and even gave me the leftovers of my mudslide so I got a two-in-1 deal lol, most of the bartenders I know throw the extras away, so I was very happy with this. The mudslide was great! Just what I was craving after a long, hot day at the beach. Because we got there an hour before they closed, we weren't able to try another drink, but we will definitely be back!

We stayed at SeaCrest and ate and drank at Pool Bar Jim's multiple times. Frozen drinks were so good and the sidecar that comes with was a nice supprise. Had the grilled grouper sandwich twice and during our week stay. The service was excellent and eating and drinking at the pool was easy and relaxing! Really enjoyed it!

Daiquiris - do yourself a favor and go get one! It's like a buy one get half one free. They don't use a lot of sugar so you can actually taste the fruit. Perfect for a beach day! Also, their fried fish platter is delicious

We stopped a few times during our week at HHI for a mid afternoon libation. The service - excellent. The drinks - amazing. If you are looking for a refreshing drink, made with amazing fresh fruit, this is your place. Take a break from the sun and the heat - kick back and order your beverage of choice. I promise you, you will not regret it!

Nice refreshing frozen drinks after baking in the sun! We stopped by for a quick lunch and had the grouper sandwiches with fries. The fish was very fresh and the sandwich was very big. Messy to eat but very good. Very cool vibe and good music at PBJ. Tons of people and the bar was completely full, we grabbed a table near the pool. I tried the lava flow and my husband got the little cup that came with it. Delicious! Would come back again.

The best bar on the beach. We have visited the area several times and stopping here is a must. The pain killer is my favorite and the lava flow is the kids. They have a large selection of drinks with fresh fruit. The kids always enjoy the burgers, chicken tenders and fries. It gets busy but the staff work hard to make sure you have a great experience.

Great find, just off the beach. A little tricky to find from the road so just walk the beach :) Tasty real fruit daiquiris. Great view!

The onion rings were excellent. The fries weren't as good as in the past. We asked for them 'well done', but they were not. It's an outdoor pool bar beside the ocean, what more could you want? The service is normally great, but I think one of the guys was having an 'off' day. When we sat down, we were not even acknowledged. One guy was working. The other one was just standing around. I wasn't even sure he was even on duty. After a few minutes, I called out and asked if we could place an order. He didn't seem incredibly thrilled. We ordered well done fries and a couple of beers. The beer was cold, but the fries were a bit undercooked. When we re-ordered, we made sure to catch the attention of the other guy. No, I did not get names. Others seems to be immediately greeted. Maybe he just didn't like the color green. We were a little disappointed as we make sure to go to Poolbar Jim's whenever we are in Hilton Head. We also make a point of recommending it to others who go visit. we will go again, but will be sure to capture the attention of the guy who treated us so well.

My parents have been coming here for years and rave about the drinks. What a gem! Just off the beach and tucked behind a condo building it is awesome!! Jim is a super nice guy and so are the other bartenders. I had the Mai tai on the rocks which was awesome! Not too sweet or syrupy - really just right on flavor. The Lava Flow was tasty and we also had a Chi Chi which really brought out the pina coloada flavors. You can't go wrong here...tasty drinks and beautiful views! This is a must visit on HHI!

Super rude and cocky bartenders. Also, no prices on the menu- and don't bother asking because everything is way overpriced. This place definitely has negative vibes by the staff. It baffles me their reviews are so good. Go to the new Tiki Hut next door instead.

Pool Bar Jim's is awesome. The frozen drinks are the way to go. The Peanut Butter cup is iconic. I personally had the Miami Vice which was very good. The staff is friendly and pleasant. We entered from the road and it was difficult/unenjoyable to walk through the parking lot to get to the bar. I recommend more signage.

The premier beach bar on Hilton Head. Nothing fancy just good people providing the best drinks and a good time. Food wasn't too shabby either.

We stay at SeaCrest mainly for Pool Bar Jim's. Food is great and the drinks are the best.

Came here for late afternoon drinks. Loved it. Almost impossible to find so find someone that can help you find it but worth the treasure at the end of the hunt great staff, service and drinks were 10/10!

Overall fun atmosphere and you can tell they aim to please (children & adults alike)! Food (good burger) & drinks were decent but pretty sure our 'milkshakes' did not contain ice cream. Both of us who ordered chocolate shakes agreed that there was not enough chocolate flavor--a little disappointed.

Pool Bar Jim's is a delightful hidden gem that I almost don't want to review for fear of revealing the secret of my favorite island spot. Tucked away on the pool deck of a condo building just off Coligny Beach, PBJ's has literally hundreds of drink options - most of them served with a sidecar of whatever came out of the blender but didn't fit into your cup. The booze is strong, the drinks are delicious, the server are friendly, the views are perfect... oh, and the food is good, too. The shrimp tacos, in particular, are a perfect seaside lunch, paired with a daiquiri or some other tropical drink chosen from Jim's massive book of drink recipes. In other words, you can't go wrong at Pool Bar Jim's - but you shouldn't go at all, because I don't want too many people to know about this place & crowd it up! :)

Overrated, not worth the money. I kept getting splashed with blender water from the outdoor sink. I'm not one of those people who want a double for free but there was no alcohol in the drinks. I also don't appreciate when there are no prices on the menu. I have no idea how much drinks were because the bill didn't even have price details. Watch out.

Best drinks on the Island! Seriously, the bartenders and vibe here are great! All the drinks are delicious. Everything is cut fresh right in front of you! If you want a drink with real fruit, this is the spot! Highly suggest the Lava Flow! Great balance of strawberry, banana, and Piña Colada! The best part it that they come served in 2 cups (large and small), and it's at a great price! The Peanut Butter Cup puts a regular Reese's to shame, and it has booze in it! A creamy and thick drink, you definitely only need one! The Mai Tai is also a delicious option! While not your traditional mai tai, it packs a punch, and is very refreshing! The fries with their homemade blue cheese is a great salty pairing with your sweeter drinks! The blue cheese dressing is like a creamy dip consistency with minimal blue cheese chunks. My personal favorite bar on HHI!

Service was a 10. From the moment we walked in, greeted by many and our server was so stinking NICE!! The freaking virgin smoothies in which they give you the entire blender were a 10. We got a peach-mango, guava-mango and the star of it all, the lava flow which was banana, pina colada and a strawberry purée. Delish. We also got the crinkle fries that came out piping hot. And no one was rushing us for a table, it was all super fun and chill. Highly recommend and for your sanity, just follow the signs as it can be hard to find. Well done Jim!!

This is the best bar I have visited in quite some time. The only thing missing is Tom Cruise. Great beach vibe. Try one of their specialty drinks and you will not be disappointed.

Delicious drinks and great service! They make their frozen drinks with fresh ingredients and are very accommodating for non-alcoholic drinks.

First came to Pool Bar Jim's 30+ years ago. It has moved over the years, but it is still a must go place when we visit Hilton Head. Once I looked online where it currently is around Coligny Plaza is was easy to find with ample parking. Their drinks are as fabulous as ever. We bought Pool Bar Jim's original drink book way back when and even bought our son the updated larger book years later. Was surprised they still have them behind the bar!

Hands down the best bar on Hilton Head! Jim the owner is great and his frozen drinks are amazing! We even bought a copy of his recipe book and shirt. Highly recommend the peanut butter cup, mudslide, cookies and cream and lava flow. We will be back every day we are on the island. Great atmosphere and people.

What a friendly bar and delicious drinks. They are open in the winter and locals and visitors brave the cold to hang out with Jim and staff and enjoy a nice beach view and some cold (or hot!) drinks. I didn't get to try the food this time but have heard good things. I'll be back for more fun banter and delicious cocktails!
