We picked this pub as it has excellent reviews on Google. Interestingly I have never seen so many pubs on a seafront before. From the outside the pub as an interesting green tile finish, which I'm sure in the summer looks amazing. I booked a table a few days before which was worthwhile doing as I feel we got the best table in the pub which was a window seat. Please note this is a fish restaurant and the choice they have on offer is exceptionally good with a varied price list so great for most budgets. My wife had the prawns which she thoroughly enjoyed and found extremely tasty. I had the haddock which I also enjoyed, but it didn't quite meet the quality I have had elsewhere. We both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which we would both recommend. The pub was a real traditional pub, with many regulars who had some great stories to tell. Overall we enjoyed our lunch and the service provided.

Staying in Poole for a short break and looking for somewhere for dinner, we thought we'd try The Poole Arms. So very pleased we did! Fantastic food; welcoming, friendly staff; cosy, warm atmosphere. Definitely one to remember for another visit!

OMG! Best meal so far in 2025 (went nov 2025). The seafood is amazing. Firstly the greeting on entry was superb, no rush to order. Drink prices amazing especially beer/cider. The food was so fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.

If you don't like seafood/fish, this may not be the plaice(!) for you. They do serve non fish dishes but they are in the minority. Lovely unspoilt pub. Not massive so book to ensure a table. All dishes freshly cooked to order. Good wine list. Cask ales. Lovely staff.

A Seafood Lover’s Haven. A varied and impressive array of fresh seafood is always available at modest prices for the quality of the each dish. The Seafood chowder is a Chalice of quality and richness. Fish Pie with a wedge of baguette is both satisfying and seasoned to perfection. The Dressed Crab and other such dishes are always popular. It’s always advisable to book at key times such as lunch and dinner, but they will do their best to fit you in. I dined there twice this week with good quality beer and a good wine selection was very well received and accompanied the food superbly. Starters around £8 to £15 with Fresh Oysters too. Main courses from £15 to £25. I had two lovely sea bass fillets and they were delicious. Do give it a try. One warning for all men. The toilet is outside down a dark alley and you need a code from the bar to get in. Don’t get caught out!!!!

Staying in Poole for a few days, 30 seconds away from this gorgeous pub. It has set the standard for all food we will eat, and service going forward. The freshest oysters we've ever eaten. 10/10 recommend and would return.

Yelp
A warm friendly pub with two ales, and the entire menu is sea food. I liked it here. The seating is old but has comfy cushions to sit on. It's a bit cramped but not in an intrusive way. There are lots of black and white photos of boats and ships, all in Poole harbour, and some of them are very old. I had a half of Ringwood 49er - sorry ale lovers, I can't do it! I want my bacardi and coke! Found it just too filling and not the right taste for me - it's beer. More like German bier though. I'll certainly be back to try some of the food. I'll be back even if I don't try the food!

Yelp
This is a lovely little pub on the seafront, quiet and friendly with seriously good food, most of it spanking fresh seafood, all of it cooked to order. It's true they don't allow children, but a pub is an adult environment, not sure why anyone would want to take a baby into one.

Yelp
I walked into this pub and was greeted by a very friendly member of staff. I liked this pub also - it was warm, friendly, cosy. There were a number of diners eating - so that was a good sign. I'll be back to try the food sometime - I just love Sardines - they were on the menu also!

Yelp
I would avoid this place - the owners are extremely rude and unfriendly, and it is not particularly comfortable inside. The food is not that brilliant - I would recommend the Portsmouth Hoy next door - excellent reasonably priced food and far better service.
