Tried Pops Place in St. Joseph, MO. One of the best tenderloins I've had, the sides were awesome too. Fresh cut fries, homemade Mac n cheese, twice baked potato casserole. Wife had the French dip and it was great! My family of 5 ate for under $60 almost unheard of anymore!

Food came out super fast. Staff helped quickly and was friendly. Tons of fries with the sandwich. A little burnt but to be expected with shoestring. Mac n cheese should’ve been served in a larger container as it was over flowing. But it was tasty, not some box bullshit. Overall great place. Would definitely visit again.

It's rather surprising. Definitely not your typical bar food. Cheese burger was thick and done to perfection. French dip is one of the best in St Joe. Cajun chicken Alfredo was great also. Fries cooked to perfection.

We were looking for a great little hometown, regular people place to eat on our road trip home to Utah. We stopped at Pop's Place for lunch. Great atmosphere, fantastic food and great service! Great burgers, the best french dip my husband has ever eaten! Thank you Rikki for your grat service!

We tried several appetizers and all had dinners too. Everything was wonderful. Steven was super helpful with menu questions and took great care of us too. 10 out of 10 service. Great tunes all evening too. A little warm for the patio for me but cornhole and tunes were poppin' out there. 10/10 recommend!

Google
If you’re looking for the best French dip sandwich, look no further than Pop’s Place. The sandwich was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly tender beef, melty cheese, and a flavorful au jus that tied it all together. It’s the kind of meal you’ll think about long after the plate is empty. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant was spotless, which I always appreciate. The service was equally impressive; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Pop’s Place is now a must-stop for me. Highly recommend!

This is literally the best place to eat, drink, dance, and meet great people. I love their specials. I appreciate great service and that is what I get every time I come in to eat. The prices are amazing. Thanks Pops for the good times.

Google
Friendly and quick service. Delicious fresh, hot food that doesn't come from a freezer. The French fries were fresh cut. The tenderloin was hand breaded and fried to perfection. The lettuce and tomatoes for the sandwich were exceptional. Good luck finishing it all! Just get down to the South Side and try it out!

Yelp
The breaded pork tenderloins were fresh and hot, as were the tater tots. They have good ketchup for the tots. On the regular pork tenderloin, the lettuce/tom/pickles/onions are extra, as is the Mayo. But it ends up being the same price as the other tenderloin options that have condiments included, so I don't see the additional charges as a big deal. Look at it this way, if you don't want all the toppings, you don't have to pay for it! But, wow, there was a LOT of fat on my regular fried pork tenderloin. So much so that, so sorry, I couldn't eat bites I had taken. I'm so sorry for the gross pic but it was a lot. It wasn't just one or two bites. It was still good and I still enjoyed it. I was very full at the end of my meal. The meat was thick and seasoned well. And the breading was nice and crunchy. My problem with the location was the gaggle of children running the pool tables. Or rather running around and playing around the pool tables. When I first got there, they were not playing around the pool tables. And then towards the end of my meal, they started a "game" of pool. I was so nervous that I was going to get hit with a pool stick that I moved to the other side of my table. Just in time, too. Apparently this place is like a Chuck E Cheese on Saturday afternoons so the parents can drink and the kids can run rampant. I really wasn't expecting that at all. I'll come back when the kids are in school.

Yelp
We went here because of reviews we had seen on Facebook, and tried their tenderloins, wings, and a couple of sides. Tenderloin was meaty, tender, and well seasoned, so generally great. The Mac and cheese was spot on, as were the fries. Wings were delicious, although a little crunchier coating than I prefer, but still seasoned well. They tell you upfront that sauces are extra charge, but I was not expecting that charge for the (BBQ in our case). Sauce on the wings themselves as well. Still a great deal overall, but want you to be aware.

Yelp
Killer Grub! Southside pride can't go wrong with their cold beers! French dip Burgers it's all good

Yelp
First time here. I like dive bars, but this one didn't even have a draft beer - cans or bottles only so I just opted for water. We tried the food. My husband had a hamburger which was charbroiled and good except the waitress gave the wrong instruction to the cook on the hamburger as our receipt said well done - was wondering why it wasn't medium rare like he had ordered. You can choose a side dish and he got the onion straws - they give you a HUGE pile and they were quite good. Now for my meal - I had the cajun chicken sandwich. I was sitting where you could see everything going on in the kitchen. All was good until I saw the cook plating. He doesn't wear gloves which I suppose I could get over, but then while placing the chicken on the bun he literally sneezed all over it. Gross! He was not wearing a mask and didn't even try to turn his head or sneeze into his elbow. Yet they proceeded to bring it out to me. I just couldn't eat it, sent it back. So, the second sandwich was tasty, chicken breast was moist and not dried out. It could use some texture on it though because it just has the sauce and cheese - some lettuce and onions would make it better. I got the side of mango wasabi coleslaw because i like to try different things. It was as weird as it sounds, couldn't eat more than a couple bites, but I commend them for trying something different. If you ask for water you get a small pitcher with a straw which is nice because I always have to bug wait staff for refills in most places.

Yelp
Best burgers in saint joe but there tenderloins have gone way down hill are terrible all three other night mostly fat they cheapened it up there twice baked potatoe casserole is good but they give you this little dish that has about three bites in it was sad i had the shrimp poboy was not good they have no idea how to make a poboy i think instead of jalapino mayonaise and no cheese Im hoping they didnt change the burger cause thats all ill ever get there if ya want tenderloins go to easton

Yelp
Best burger in Saint Joseph hands down. Not cheap though. 11 for burger and side. Now that I think about it I guess that's about what all the fast food places charge now. This place is a million times better. They have tots so no brainer, but their fries are great too. The fried pickles have to be made in house and they were the best chip type fried pickles I've ever tasted. The tenderloin was very good too. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. The beers were ice cold! They also have a huge outdoor area that had another bar with a covered area, plus several corn hole areas in the uncovered area. The only thing, which wasn't horribly bad especially since I feel like other places don't have it either is good buns. Man if this place used really good bread it would be one of the best burgers ever...just sayin.

Yelp
By far the BEST food your taste buds will ever experience. Small establishment but everyone there has a great time and they make you feel at ease. The food is amazing

Yelp
Great food! Love the burger selections, breakfasts, in house homemade sausage. Grab a take out menu if you don't want to eat in, friendly atmosphere though.
