Popino Restaurante

A great place with an incredible atmosphere. The food was exceptional and cooked to perfection and the cocktails were on point. The service was quick and efficient. Definitely highly recommend when in Panama City

Very nice ambiance restaurant in a modern art gallery like building. Great place for a date night or celebration. For drinks we enjoyed Miguel & Oaxaca which were well mixed full of flavor. For starters we got the grilled octopus which was amazing and the smoked ceviche which wasn’t our favorite but still was good. Main meal consisted of the Denver Steak & Popino Seabass which was delicious. The infused Pink Moon tea was fresh and full of flavor. We ended with the banana torrija which was moist and strong with banana flavor. Was a very nice evening enjoyed.

Celebrated my third wedding anniversary here. I contacted the restaurant two weeks in advance to make reservations and plans. They even let me decorate. The food, service and atmosphere was amazing. For a party of 8, with cocktails, appetizers and entrees, the price was reasonable. It was a great experience

What a MAGNIFICENT experience! I came across Popino as I was looking for a different place and I was intrigued. When I saw the 4.8 star rating, I became very excited. Everything about dining at Popino was FLAWLESS! The decor is dark and elegant, the wine list is varied and extensive. The service is impeccable. And the food is out of this world! I had the goat cheese pasta and my friend had the fish of the day. The first course, an arugula and lettuce salad, was huge, so we split it. We also split the delicious banana dessert. I cannot recommend Popino highly enough. It is simply the best! And I shall definitely be returning!

Unique, elegant, creative, thoughtful, and absolutely delicious food! Also, this is Impeccably designed space that’s fit for a magazine spread. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to Panama City so I can eat here again.

The truth is that I was disappointed, I love trying nice places, I thought it was a place with many expectations because I read good comments, but for me the attention was not good, on my plate the banana tasted burnt and I told the girl and she did nothing, I told the waiter to guide me for a sweet cocktail and the cocktail I chose was not sweet at all. The octopus was delicious. And expensive for that service!

I'll probably start with the pros: I really liked the design, the very casual style and everything is ergonomic, but then there will be cons. The two of us came to the opening of the restaurant at 6 pm. We like to sit at a large table so that we can sit comfortably, and we told the hostess that this was important for us, but she sat us at a table for two, although during the hour we were eating, only 3 tables were occupied along with ours. This is very sad. When I sat down at the table, I saw a dirty fork in the table setting, I told the waiter, he quickly replaced the fork but did not even apologize for the inconvenience caused to us, my partner also had a dirty menu with stains. This also upset us. we ordered 3 different dishes and you will see them in the video, but they all tasted the same! this is very strange for a restaurant of this level. I couldn’t distinguish Himachi, Fish and Shrimp by taste - it all tasted like one dish, because the sauces in all dishes were the same! It is very strange. I only liked the presentation, it is really beautiful, but the taste is very strange. If the chef and menu ever change, we will definitely return to this restaurant, but not now. Very upset with both the service and the food!

4.2 | friendly service, good food, nice ambiance. Some of the dishes were terrific such as the tartare with other beings a little less notable. Same goes for the cocktails, some are very well crafted and balanced while others are a bit of a miss. Overall would recommend a stop here, especially if you are staying at an Airbnb in the building.
