The location can’t be beat- it is a quiet place off the main busy drag. For the money, it’s a fair price. The rooms are spacious, cleanliness is acceptable but could be better. The bed was large and comfortable. The breakfast is simple, but tasty. Includes a fresh juice.

First time I visited a hotel that did not provide blankets. They just provide a thin sheet to use. I had 3 senior citizens and a kid along. After insisting they gave extra sheet which was taken back the next day. (Picture attached of the bed we used to sleep on day 3) Inspite of being a beach destination, the rooms were not cleaned for 3 days. Breakfast (vegetarian) was very basic. If I have to rate the staff on 1-10; the rating will be 1. Extremely rude and cruel. They said we don’t care if you die without a blanket but we will not provide an extra sheet to you. That’s because we refused to pay extra for the same. Next day did not provide breakfast and help with our luggage at checkout too. I would never stay here for free also next time.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had the most terrible experience of our life. The room is filled with water on the floor and they don’t give any bedsheets. The staff abuses and is very rude. They try to con people by saying that please cancel booking.com and we will give discount. They don’t give breakfast and says that time is over at 8.30pm. They don’t give blankets as well. Worst place in Mirissa. Please don’t ever stay here! The lady manager is biggest conwomen I ever saw.

We stayed there on 21st November 2025.Our stay was not at all pleasant. Owner was extremely rude. We booked through booking.com.When we reached we were asked to do free cancellation so that they can give us 2 rooms on same floor. They had diffrent pricing for cash and card. Card they said 3% extra. We had forex card fyi. We paid for breakfast. We asked to keep breakfast which they agreed . We came back they said no break fast if you come late. Dont know how it is a 3 star hotel.

Good sized room. Generally clean. Good breakfast. Good location. No issues with hot water. ||Very tired furniture and decorations. Bathroom especially could do with renovation like fixing broken toilet seats. Issue with ants coming into the rooms. There is a construction site next door at the time of writing.

Super friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely breakfast and the rooms have the best AC in Sri Lanka. 2 minutes from the beach.

we had booked apartments 2 weeks before, i ask host is everything ok, but host not aswered me. when we come host said that overbooked. disgusting. really bad experience. nit recommended at all!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Poppies, stayed for a week. Rooms are clean and comfortable, location is great, and although it's in the middle of everything it's remarkably quiet. And best of all is the staff, especially Kushan is a super star. Thanks for everything, we'll be back.
