For those looking to do electrocautery treatment with Porcelain for skin bumps, please be aware that they cannot do under-eye milia removal, only the rest of the face.
I booked an appointment for cautery treatment but was only informed at the consultation that they cannot do under-eye removal. This is apparently due to the risk of patient movement and potential eye blindness during the electrocautery procedure. Since they are not a dermatology clinic, they can only use a lower strength numbing cream, and it cannot be used under the eyes.
When asked why I wasn't informed beforehand, staff said most people would be too scared after learning the risks involved and would choose to do the rest of their face instead. They promised to feedback to management, and proceeded to demo their retail products, suggesting their exfoliating gel might be able to remove the under-eye milia instead as it was quite small.
While I appreciate the detailed consult and the 5-day sample packs shared for their whole range, I would not have made the appointment if I had known. The website has images of under-eye milia as examples of what can be removed, which gave me the impression that they would be able to do it. Also, since previous patients needed to be counselled about the risks of under-eye removal, this seems to be a known pattern rather than an oversight.
