On the Grid : Porchetta & Co

"Many places in Toronto have started to offer porchetta sandwiches, but no one comes to close to Porchetta Co.’s offerings. They use a 3 step process that starts with marinating pork shoulders, which they then wrap in sliced prosciutto. Finally, the pork is rolled in lightly cured pork belly, making this porchetta one-a-kind. The Porchetta Co. house special is the real deal but you can also try one of their many daily specials or pick up a savoury side." - Sovereign State

Google
I love this place, it has such a nice atmosphere, very homey and the menu is also very comforting like home cooking. Had their roasted potatoes and classic fried chicken sandwich. Potatoes were not overly salty, lightly seasoned but the potato was really the highlight. The sandwich is incredible, not too juicy, the combination of the sauce and the pickles with the chicken, really delicious, I don’t know what seasoning they added to the chicken but it’s magic. Last time I was here I had their hoagie, also really great, good memories of it.

Mykola Chernoivanov

Google
The sandwich and hoagie are so delicious, and the crispness and juiciness of the chicken are excellent. The combination of cheese and sauces is just there. It's very impressive for a fried chicken sandwich. I highly recommend trying if you never tried them before. The meal is also acceptable, similar to a Sunday roast, but it lacks some gravy. 😉 Overall, you must visit if you haven’t tried it yet.

Haydar Celik

Google
I love their sourdough bun. Porchetta is flavorful and has a light taste. I would have cut all sections (crackling, belly, baked meat) into the same size, though. I love spicy food, but I would go easy on this sandwich as the meat has a tender taste. Recommended.

Alex

Google
The House Special was surprisingly underwhelming given its reputation in other reviews. I found it quite dry... The truffle sauce saved it with every bite. I'm also not sure what the play was with using hamburger-like buns??? This type of sandwich works better with panini/hoagie bread. Mediocre for the price.

Google
GOOD FOOD. Not exactly as shown There’s been a lot of hype over the years about the sandwiches at this popular spot. So I finally ventured in with quite an appetite and doubled-down for both the Porchetta and fried chicken sandwiches. Both were very good, but honestly, I was thinking it was going to me more epic, you know, more like the picture in the posters. See for yourself. The Porchetta sandwich was mostly bun. I guess that’s why there’s an option to top-up the meat. So, it’s kind of dry as the ratio is too heavily weighted to the bun. The chicken was a bit better, but still not as good as other fried chicken in the city.

Matthew Brydson

Google
The OG sandwich really just didn't deliver on flavour or texture. No crunch, batter slides off. Tasteless mayo. The bun was great, but a bit soggy even after it was made to order and dining in. 'Steak cut' fries were really good. Undersalted though. Too pricey to make a return. $3 for a can of coke is insanity.

Ive seen this place for years and wanted to try it out. Food was decent, but the portions for the price was not as expected. My friend was surprised to because he's eaten here in the past. I guess in this climate its really hard on small businesses.

Google
These sandwiches were so great and unlike anything I’ve had! The buns are out of this world!! Chewy, great crust, fluffy… hits every target. The porchetta sandwich was flavorful but our favorite was the fried chicken sandwich. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
We went in and ordered the Chicken Parm, and the Prochetta meal along with fries, truffle oil and chicken gravy dipping sauce. Understandably there was quite a wait as they have to field food delivery orders first. When we recieved our order we recieved complimentary items which was very gracious of them. When we tried it in the car the food was sublime. My partner and I loved the truffle aioli dip and the chicken gravy- both went well with the fries. The fries were hecking thick and crispy - the porchetta was very succulent. I'm Chinese and it was on par with the fresh roast pork I've eaten in the past. The cookies were the perfect texture between soft and hard. It's my first time trying chicken Parm and I get the hype. I didn't eat it until the next day and it was still very good. Here's a thumbs up fry - sorry we didn't take pics of the food we were hungry

Yelp
Nashville hot chicken is a must. That sandwich was probably the best fried chicken sandwich I've had ! The porchetta is solid too but I felt their sides to lack in flavor. Service is quick and it's more a fast casual restaurant which is perfect for lunch. Would definitely come back for the chicken !

Yelp
The word of crackling pork with truffle oil is enticing. Ordered house special (the only pork sandwich on the menu). Bun is really good. Light and has somewhat 'crispy' sound as I bite it. The crackling pork is indeed crunchy and delish! However, no truffle taste at all. In fact, the overall taste of the sandwich is mustard!! If you dont like fat, maybe better not to order it. 1 coworker has 3 bites, and thats it! (more than half left). She said too fatty. I didn't 'taste' the 'fattiness', so maybe she has lower tolerance level. 2 other coworkers ordered OG chicken, they all said 'meh'. Overall, none of us enjoyed our lunch. It was dissapointing. It is 'special' price, not 'special' sandwich / 'special' flavor.

Yelp
Got the Porchetta house special sandwich. This has to be the best pork sandwich in Toronto. Big chunks of pork meat, crunchy crispy pork skin, mayo, grainy mustard and hot sauce all on a sourdough bun. This is porky heaven. You have to try this to believe it.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
The Porchetta was fine (be aware there is about 1/3 of the meat is fat). The chicken sandwiches are what caught my attention but decided to try the Porchetta. The two sides it comes with are the same size as the ones you can buy separately. The fries were good, as was the rapini. Coleslaw needed some packets of pepper (sadly not incl.) Ordered through Ubereats and arrived quickly and was still hot.

George R.

Yelp
We tried Porchetta switch, Nashville chiken switch, and parmesan chiken switch. All are good , the Porchetta is really good, a little bit crispy in the outside, and tender on the inside. The best side dish for me was the roasted potatoes Prices are good , portions are good, and the service is good. Yes, I will come back for one more House Special switch, and i will ask light on the mustard.

Yelp
Sandwiches are very overrated. However, the staff is very friendly and the food quality is good.

Yelp
Porchetta serves hot and cold sandwiches. They usually have a sandwich as a daily special. I prefer the Porchetta meal. You can order at the counter or via the Ritual App. They have a few tables for dine in. This location caters to the hungry office crowd since it's located in the PATH. Yelp
Looking for a lunch spot and ended up getting takeout. Store opened at 12pm so we were the first customers, but while we ate outside (standing bar table right outside the store) the place had a steady flow of customers. Food was ready quickly. House special had nice flavour from the mustard and good amount of porchetta. Bonus of crunchy bites of crackling in the sandwich. Bun held up nicely. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was spicy!! Big portion of chicken on a soft bun. The bun gets a little soggy as it's a softer potato bun (compared to the denser sourdough used for the house special) and the lettuce shreds are well dressed. A little messy to eat but very tasty! Overall would recommend for the flavour, although for the same price we could have gone somewhere with actual seating on a patio. There are Muskoka chairs along King St. if you're lucky to find some vacant! Looks like they recently raised prices ($12.95 for each sandwich). 4/5 for a quick bite.

Yelp
OMG! This was one of my favorite spots in Toronto!! The cashier was super friendly and so patient with all of our questions, being tourists..we had A LOT of questions hehe I had the Nashville hot chicken which was so flavorful and delicious!! The chicken was crunchy on the outside and moist inside, perfectly cooked I love spicy food and was happy to find a place in Canada that actually had a little spice to the food that was labeled "hot" I am so happy I found this place and regret not making another stop before leaving Canada

Yelp
Had a fantastic two visits to P&Co while visiting Toronto. Probably my favorite place we ate during our trip even. This location is an easy jaunt from Queen Street, serves beer, and has that cool "we're in a basement check out the water service entrance while you're eating" vibe. The sandwiches are amazing, but don't forget about the sides either! Enjoy.
google avatar

Yelp
Was going to get the Nashville chicken but spotted this guy on Ritual. Described as an alternative to the popeyes sandwich. Having recently tried a monster of a sandwich from a new Dundas West establishment, expectations were meh. But the sandwich was not. Amazing crispy chicken with the perfect batter. And soft potato bun to boot. WINNER. forget popeyes and splurge ($13). Worth it.

Yelp
TIME: Wednesday @1pm This tiny place wasn't packed with no wait to order. Since it was my first time, I decided to get the obvious: "HOUSE SPECIAL" - $9.95 CAD Porchetta Sandwich with Truffle Sauce, Parmesan, Mustard. It normally comes with Hot Sauce but I had that removed. When I unwrapped this sandwiched all I saw was bread. All the fillings were in there...I was just expecting my sandwich to look like the photo I saw, haha. Had to lift it up to make sure the goods were there--and it was...I think? Doesn't look like the photos I've seen in Yelp. I really like the soft bread which made it ok to feel there was more bread to meat ratio. Oh I had mentioned to leave the hot sauce out and I'm glad I did because I don't like sauces that are tangy. Everything in this sandwich came well the other. The porchetta has lots of small crispy texture moments, mixed with the subtle mustard seeds and the wonderful truffle mayo. Overall I enjoyed this! Yummy! FRIES - $3.45 CAD Well done fries that's not so crispy and a tad heavy on the salt. Overall good! The staff was super friendly. This place is very tiny and doesn't seat much. Luckily I came right after lunch time which opened up one table. I'm sure this place gets really busy during lunchtime.

Yelp
Lots of reviews suggest to skip their signature and go for the fried chicken instead. I love me a good fried chicken sammich too! I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. Meh! I'm used to getting a breast when it's a fried chicken sandwich. The dark meat didn't do it for me. It just wasn't a good flavor and there wasn't enough spicy nashville sauce or meat in the sandwich. The white bread was very WHITE BREAD! 0 taste and added nothing to the sandwich at all. Cole slaw tasted slightly off to me. I ate like 1/3 of it just trying to figure out what they did to it. It was crunchy though. I wouldn't come back.

Yelp
I love the fact that this place opened up in the PATH! They open at 8am and if you have the ritual app, take advantage of ordering ahead of time and picking up your breakfast on your way to work. I've tried two different types of breakfast sandwiches. 1.) Their egg and cheese on a buttered english muffin - you can add avocados or smoked bacon, I did both. I also ordered the truffle sauce on the side, the whole combination was delicious. I think if the english muffins were a bit more toasted, everything would be better. 2.) Their Fried Chicken breakfast sandwich on a english muffin was a-ok. The fried chicken was glazed with a sweet syrup which I didn't like but I guess that it fits right into their breakfast category. The whole thing was MASSIVE. I don't think I will be ordering this again. 3.) Their hashbrown patties are soooooo delicious, everything you want in a hashbrown. You got the crunch, the soft warm tender mash inside and the outside seasoned perfectly with salt. Even better when you dip it with the truffle sauce and ketchup! 4.) Their coffee was great. Super hot, waited 5 minutes and was still piping hot when I got to my desk. I can't wait to try the other things on their menu. I've heard a lot of good things about their sandwiches and fried chicken. That's it for now. Happy eating fellow yelpers!

Yelp
Despite it's name, I'd stay away from the Porchetta. My order was dry and I couldn't imagine spending over $10 ever again for the portion I received. Their chicken sandwiches on the other hand....wow. I ordered one of their special chicken sandwiches (with thick-cut bacon, BBQ sauce, and Mac n' Cheese) from their new PATH location and it was the best chicken sandwich I've had in Toronto! The bun was fluffy, yet rigid enough to hold its fillings. The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and smothered in a delicious sauce. The thick-cut bacon really was thick (and delicious). And the Mac n' Cheese - a questionable addition I first thought - provided the perfect balance for the bold flavours.

Yelp
Directed by Foodies that this is a "must try" sandwich joint in Toronto - so a 30 minutes walk in -10 Celsius I had high expectations. Food did not disappoint: House special Porchetta sandwich - meat is juicy and savory. Very tender and good cut. Bun had a nice crispy crunch without being hard. $9. I liked a lot. Cole slaw - freshly made, home style. Was talked into ordering this. Glad I did. $4 seems a lot but you get enough for 2 people - packed the extra to go. Goes great with the Porchetta. Service - super friendly. Think the server is some kind of cole slaw aficionado. Blogs about cole slaw! Overall: this place is solid 4.5 Stars. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I love the kick this sand which had to it! Definitely up there as one of the satisfying fried chicken sandwiches I've had. Highly suggest trying this one out if your a fan of fried chicken sandwiches. They are also known for their other sandwiches as well!

Yelp
Food: 5 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars I have been here twice now and both times my experience was enjoyable. I tried the house special my first time here and it was good. Meat was nice and juicy and I loved the bread. Something satisfying about that crunch when you bite into it. My most recent visit I had their bacon, mushroom, melt sandwich which I believe was the special of the day. I wish I had bought two. The fried chicken was nice and crispy on the outside, the cheese was nice and gooey, and the mushroom sauce just bought everything together. I ordered my food to go so I did not spend too much time in the restaurant. You basically walk in and you can grab a menu to your right or your can just check out the board above the cashier. Service was prompt and I waited probably only waited 5 minutes for my food. There is a good amount of seating available as well. I definitely recommend trying out Porchetta. I have enjoyed it thoroughly both times I was there and I cannot wait until I visit again.

Yelp
Porchetta is really catching on, and while I've recently found several places that nail what can be a tough culinary concept, Porchetta & Co does it in a way that, while likely to be replicated with additional locations, isn't among the better renditions I've had. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Porchetta & Co. is a pretty standard shop, and kudos for what were some really friendly staff even first thing in the morning. The sandwiches come out quick as well, which is a plus. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? It's worth pointing out that during the morning hours only the breakfast menu is available, so while I wanted a classic Porchetta sandwich I was tied to a Porchetta breakfast Sandwich. Fair enough, and in that my egg McMuffin sized sandwich was under $5.00 I really couldn't complain about the value proposition. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This sandwich was fine. Good peripheral items with the egg and hot sauce and the like, but I zero'd in on the Porchetta itself which was just okay on account of being a bit dry and without too much inherent flavor of its own. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? A good concept, but not a model for how the Porchetta sandwich can be executed. No Star.

Yelp
Walked in at a little past 10pm and they close at 11pm. We ordered. They had the NBA draft on which was nice since the hubs had missed watching it since we were out. Our food was ready... so we sat, devoured our food. Delicious porchetta sandwich! And really kind staff!
google avatar

Karmen N.

Yelp
I came here because I saw these great reviews! The place has charm with high stools, antique collections and a cute logo and menu design. Went with the special of the day: buttermilk fried chicken grilled cheese with caramelized grilled onions, bbq sauce and smoked bacon. Friendly service, nice ambiance, I don't why it took so long to bring out when they said the sandwich is premade. Anyway, it looked nothing like what I expected. The sandwich was so small! And when I think of buttermilk fried chicken, I think of crispy, flaky, popcorn chicken with juicy moist meat. This one is as flat as two pieces of bacon, and the chicken tasted like dark meat or something, I don't what it is about the flavour, but I didn't enjoy it. Furthermore, the bread was very dry, there was more bacon than anything else, and the sandwich was incredibly salty. After two bites, I couldn't eat anymore. For $10 on a small salty sandwich, my money is better spent elsewhere.
google avatar

Dianna C.

Yelp
Everytime I come here I order the same thing, the house special, the porcetta sandwich with cracklin, grainy mustard, hot sauce and truffle sauce...and every time I come here it's different from the last. This time the truffle sauce has been switched for a white mayonnaise-type sauce with no truffle flavour. Plus the staff aren't even thinking about what they're doing. I ordered it to stay and they put my lone sandwich in a giant bag. I understand they're not using trays right now but the guy was puzzled when I said I don't need that bag.
google avatar

Hans C.

Yelp
I tried this spot during my qurantine a while back, ordered it via uber eats. The porchetta house special sandwich is just so good. If you love pork sandwich, this is it!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
This place is a solid 4. I had the House Special sandwich and I really enjoyed the contrast between the truffle sauce and the acidity of the mustard! Although the space is small, I like that the place had that hipster-y, artisanal vibe to it - really ties in with the sandwiches. Even the unisex bathroom was really clean (usually unisex bathrooms aren't very clean in my experience but the one at Porchetta is!). The staff were very friendly and accommodating - I wasn't feeling the coleslaw side salad that I ordered as it was very watery. I asked for a kale side salad instead and I ended up getting one in about 3 minutes. The staff also didn't seem to mind that I wanted a change in dishes (I rarely return dishes so I was pleasantly surprised when I got the side dish on the house without having to pay the difference). Overall, the place is a great place for some quality sandwiches. I would definitely recommend coming by if you're craving a quick bite or if you want to try something more substantial than your average Subway sandwich.
google avatar

Nathan M.

Yelp
First and foremost let me talk about the price to quality ratio. For their signature porchetta it's only $11.95. Which to me is an insane deal for the the quality of food you get. The porchetta had a very juicy texture while also being a bit crunchy. If there was something to nit pick it would probably be the amount of mustard int he sandwich but that's just my own preference. We also got the OG fried chicken which in my opinion is better than the Popeyes chicken sandwich and it's now even close. One other surprise was how well the fires were seasoned and cooked. I know you're not there for fries but I mean just incase you wanted to know Will definitely be visiting here again.
google avatar

Owen R.

Yelp
Damn that was really good. 1/2 hr to closing time and still great tasting, fresh... I was gonna take a picture but ate it too quick.
google avatar

Anna A.

Yelp
We had just left a rooftop pool in the area and decided to eat something in the neighbourhood. The place is small and so is their menu, but it smelled nice in there. I immediately went to the house special and so did my fiancé. He loves mushrooms, so he asked to have those added into his sandwich. The sandwich was hot and smelled so good! When you bite into it, the bread is crispy and it just adds a nice texture to the sandwich. The toppings are fresh and you could taste the juicy mustard sauce. I'll be honest and say that one probably isn't enough if you're hungry...so go for two! I would most definitely come back to try their other menu items to see what their other sandwiches are like. The location is great and they have seating indoor and outdoor. Very nice in summer! They also serve beer if you'd like to grab a cold one with that delicious sandwich.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Ah Porchetta, you make great sandwiches. We've been eating from Porchetta for a really long time and have been fans of their sandwiches for a long time. Their fried chicken is always juicy and amazing. And their Porchetta never disappoints. I love the grainy mustard they pair with the pork. I've found more recently that I'm a bigger fan of their bread (several years ago their buns used to always leave cuts on my mouth because it was too hard!). I will say that I am really not a fan of their sides: the rapini is always super bitter and we just tried the coleslaw tonight and it just tasted quite plain and lacking in flavour. We did try their home cooked biscuits today - and they were deliciously rich and probably the only side I'd order in the future.
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
This place is definitely my all time fav for fried chicken sandwiches. I'm pretty sure I put on the covid-19 pounds (too soon?) from all the orders I made here! I always get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with no pickles. It is so crispy and juicy, and it's on this buttery bun that you feel like the whole thing melts in your mouth. I am literally salivating thinking about it right now. I've also gone here to eat, and it's a decent size joint to have a casual bite, and very friendly staff. I don't eat a lot of pork but my fiancé loves their porchetta sandwiches, too. Sometimes I'll order a biscuit when I'm pretty baked lol, and I add some melted butter on it. The biscuit is a bit salty but still delish. I highly recommend this for whatever mood you're in, but when you're heavily intoxicated or high is probably my fav time to indulge.
google avatar

Alexandros S.

Yelp
Alright, finally got a chance to try Porchetta on King street and here are the major takeaways. Upon entering, it's a small place, but very clean inside e.g., seating area, kitchen, and garbage area are well kept by the friendly staff. I went with the OG Chicken Sandwich (Frank's hot sauce, lettuce, pickles, and ranch/herb dressing) + a side kale salad. I was very satisfied with the OG Chicken Sandwich, you can not go wrong with this choice as it's well breaded, non-greasy and the bun was well toasted (not overwhelmingly hard or soft). The ranch/herb dressing was also a nice touch and flavourful. The only thing I was disappointed with was the kale salad. It was very bland and didn't have much to it. I know I know, people will say "but it's a sandwich place etc etc" however for a $6.45 side, I expect a higher quality. To be a 5-star rated place, everything needs to be spot on from the sides to the main. Would definitely return, but wouldn't be my go to if very hungry.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
An amazing sandwich and I recommend everyone to try this at least once if in Toronto. The House Special is amazing. The bread looks dry, but it's quite the opposite and wonderful. Great crust and it's soft on the inside. The porchetta was delicious. You get the juicy pieces with the super crunchy skin (only a few pieces were a tad dry). The sauces compliment the meat wonderfully. One sandwich is quite filling. I am still thinking about how tasty it was.

Yelp
My continued hunt for an excellent fried chicken sammy has brought me to Porchetta and Co. on King...and what a sandwich it is! They don't take phone takeout orders, so we made it down on a miserable December day to place our order in person. My BF tried the House Special and I ordered Nashville Hot Chicken, no sides. Our order took about 7 minutes, which seemed super quick considering only 2 employees were working. My Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was SO good. Quite spicy, which I was a bit surprised by, but the spicy oil and mayo was a good balance and the spice wasn't totally overwhelming. According to my BF, "the chicken itself is superb, but I think it's a bit overwhelming on the sandwich", which I'd agree with, just because you could barely taste the lettuce and pickles. However, I didn't mind much, because nobody really eats a chicken sandwich for the lettuce :P
google avatar

Yelp
I heard about Porchetta and Co. for the first time on The Layover with Anthony Bourdain and the name has stuck ever since; he had 30-odd hours in the city and this was one of the places he fit into that short timeframe. I tried the porchetta sandwich and added truffle sauce ($0.75). I don't have much experience with porchetta sandwiches so I'm not sure what the standard taste is but this was certainly a delight to bite into! The porchetta is so tender and juicy! The crispy pork skin adds more texture and the truffle sauce just takes it to another level. The King location is right next to Unzipped, too; it's the perfect meal to have before or after checking out the installation!

Yelp
I was brought here when visiting downtown Toronto. My friend and I were waiting for an exhibition to open so we stopped by before the lunch crowd. The place is small but provided sufficient seating. We shared the original sandwich which I think is their most popular. For some reason it reminded me of Schlotzskys but in a good way. I really liked their bread and the ratio of the meat inside to the bread was nearly perfect. The sandwich had a good amount of kick to it as well!
google avatar

Becca C.

Yelp
These sandwiches are SO good. It's crazy how good the fried chicken sandwiches are. They have quite a few options to choose from and I was really happy with my choices. I've never had a better friend chicken sandwich in my life

Yelp
Been to the first canadian place location a couple of times, for lunch and breakfast. Takeout only during work. Had to check out the hype with the long lineups at the newly opened first canadian place location opened. The porchetta sandwich was disappointing. The crunchy pork reminds me of Chinese crispy pork you order at any dimsum restaurant. The mustard and truffle sauce I find doesn't complement the pork at all. Not a fan of the bun, I find it too rock hard. The cheese fries are pretty terrible to be honest, stay away from ordering. The fries have no seasoning and are bland, and the cheese adds a weird texture. It makes the fries taste funny almost as if it was like spoiled milk. The hash brown on the other hand is great. It has plenty of salt and smells great. The coffee is good in taste but not in value. It is mild but pretty expensive for the small cup, more expensive than Starbucks. Maybe I'll try the OG chicken burger next time.
google avatar

Charlene N.

Yelp
After months of passing by this place on the King Streetcar, today I decided to get off and give them a try. I order a 1/2 pound of Porchetta that rang up to $15 and some change. Tried to pay with cash and was told NO CASH!! :/ How does a business NOT want my actual hard earned money? I won't be back. Sorry not sorry.
google avatar

Milka L.

Yelp
Well...that was disappointing. I ordered the house special and the og fried chicken sandwich and well, for the price you pay for me it's not worth it. First off, why in the hell would combine grainy mustard, truffle and hot sauce on the pork sandwich? It completely over powers the taste of the pork and is not good. The chicken sandwich was made with thigh meat and it was mostly breading and thin piece of meat and felt mostly like I was eating bread...idk again for the price I'm not impressed of the quality or quantity of the sandwich

Yelp
This was an unplanned visit but I'm certainly happy to come across this little restaurant during my travel in Toronto! Check out my experience on video https://youtu.be/ZudAR5ETwB4 There was a line forming as we got there close to lunch time (but it moves quickly) and the restaurant is small (probably seatings for 20 inside). The menu is short and simple but my mission was to get the PORCHETTA!!! We ordered the porchetta plate with poutine (paid $2 extra), chicken parmesan sandwich, a side of rapini (greens) and the truffle sauce. The food came out within 5-10 minutes, pretty efficient service and we snagged seatings at the counter near the restroom. Poutine was doused with shredded cheese (melted), gravy and the crunchy skin (cracklings) from the porchetta.. yummmm!!! It was on the salty side but it was sooo good! I wish the portion was bigger! The porchetta was perfectly seasoned, savory, but the meat was not too fatty so I didn't feel too guilty eating it.. It felt a bit heavy though, perhaps a side of steam rice would have been a nice option to soak the flavors from the pork.. yummmm! The chicken parmesan sandwich was amazingly good!!! The fried chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy in the inside despite the meat was "white meat." The red sauce was not overpowering, a great pairing with the fried chicken. Rapini was perfectly cooked..but a bit bitter (well, expected!). It's also on the salty side, though. The truffle sauce was forgettable.. and a bit too salty and sour for my liking. We didn't really need it as a condiment actually. We spent around $30 CAD for our meal (before tips), it was not cheap but again, the food was on the heavy side. If you want to try porchetta, certainly check out this place :)

Yelp
Roasted crispy pork is what they are known for. Their signature porchetta for $10.75 is pretty decent for a lunch burger. This is also a chain so they have other locations. I wish the protein was a bit more. The bun over powers the meat and sauce. I ordered the poutine and regret it. The gravy didnt have much flavour and it is pour on top. You get to half way and the fries under doesnt have any sauce.

Yelp
Ohhhhhh man. This place is awesome!!! This is now my pork Mecca!!! My wife and I are up here from New Jersey and saw this place featured on It's Suppertime with Matty Matherson and figured we have to check it out while we were in Toronto, today! I love pork. Pork is one of my favorite things to cook. I've smoked pork countless times. This was damn good pork! This was my first time having a porchetta and I absolutely fell in love! I can't wait to get home and try cooking it! I had the porchetta with poutine. It was so moist and flavorful! It was suggested to try it with some hot sauce, which added some nice heat to it. But, I loved it all on its own! I need more porchetta in my life!!!

Yelp
This is a service review not a food review, so I'll make it short. YMMV. Popped by before closing time last week as I'd wanted to try it out for a while. When I walked in, 2 staff staring intently at the cash screen (both facing me) and there was 1-2 more were near them in the 'kitchen'. I was the sole customer. No eye contact, no acknowledgement I was there. After a minute of awkwardly standing there, I figured I'd break the ice. We've all been to boutique-y places with not-so great service, where the customer has to go initiate. So, friendly tone. "Hey guys how you doing? You're still open, right?" (Gives them a chance to say they are closing early, their fridge is broken, sold out, etc etc. They'd get to close early and I'm ok with that. One guy replied "We're clearing some orders". 4 words, no eye contact. Went to the bathroom. Came back and stood in front of them. A kitchen guy wandered over, looked at the screen, strolled back. No acknowledgement from anyone. So, I left.

Yelp
So I saw this on tastetoronto's Instagram and was a little disappointed... The special of the day was Buttermilk fried chicken with caramelized onions and bacon grilled cheese. See photo below, there are hardly any caramelized onions and the bread is burnt. Overall the sandwich was okay, but probably not worth $10.

Yelp
3.5 Star I ordered the House Special sandwich, and though I enjoyed it, it didn't quite reach the level I was hoping for. The pork is quite good quality and I really enjoyed the crunchy parts - which helped round up my review to a 4. Even as someone who enjoys really strong flavour, I found the mix of the vinegar-based hot sauce and grain mustard a bit overpowering. The truffle sauce and Parmesan got lost in it and even the pork to some degree. I also found the price a little on the steep side, though I know it's good quality pork. As I look at their menu, it's hard to understand the nearly $2 price difference between the house special and their breakfast sandwich which both have the pork and crackling. Still fairly enjoyable and I would even return for the same sandwich, but would ask for light hot sauce for the sake of tasting all the components.

Yelp
Meh. I haven't been to the original location in a few years and I've never been to this one, but i was looking forward to a good porchetta sandwich. Instead, I got around 4 oz. of overly sauced, dry-ish pork chunks that on their own didn't have much flavor, and with all the sauces, had clashing rather than complementing flavors. My s/o had straight up dry bits of pork and an arancini w/ dried up sauce. Why didn't they just slice the porchetta? Why were both our meals lukewarm to cold? Who knows, but for the price, I'll head to Chinatown next time I'm craving plenty of good, flavorful pork.

Yelp
This place has good options for a day where you don't want to make dinner or lunch. The porchetta sandwich and plate are both good. Have a breakfast sandwich on the weekend if you can, best thing on the menu -it's got a fried runny egg in it. The negative for me is that the meat for the plate can sometimes be dry and the crackling parts not that crunchy.

Yelp
I think about this place too much. Whenever I am downtown I always think about going here. The porchetta sandwich is devine. It's the best thing you could eat on this street. Everyone I have brought here has agreed that it's one of the best sandwiches in the city.

Yelp
I got the house special. The bun was delicious and doughy. The pork was crispy and juicy. Will ask for less mustard next time. The service was nice and helpful. I would definitely go back!
