Stayed here 5 days with a wedding party. The owners did an absolutely 5 star job. The house is absolutely outstanding for anyone who appreciates history and all types of antiques, paintings and the building itself. In fact the whole town is full of history you never got in school. The owners go out of their way to make sure your visit is a good one. The house is comfortable, the bedding and towels are clean and first class. I would recommend this to anyone .

Fred is a great host and greeted us with a glass of champagne. The inn is incredibly decadent with a historical charm and a cozy presence. We stayed in the Charles Suit where we also had a beautiful glassed in sun porch overlooking the backyard and gazebo area. From the vintage decor to the amazing breakfast prepared each morning, we would give this place a hospitality grade of A++. Fred is very knowledgeable about the great restaurants in town and he won't steer you wrong. We rented a pontoon boat for one of the days from Saranac Lake Marina and there's nothing like the fresh mountain air and glacier water. Town is only a 15 minute walk from The Porcupine Inn and it's definitely on point! Thanks Fred! All the best, Kate & Eric

My husband and i got married and stayed here with some of our bridal party and had our wedding at the porcupine It was such an amazing stay and weekend. Our wedding was outside on the grounds and we couldnt be happier with our entire experience there. We had our photos taken on the grounds and inside as well ! Thank you to the owner (Fred) for making our wedding weekend unforgettable.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at The Porcupine Inn. We arrived a little late in the evening and Fred was genuinely worried about us! We were grateful for him to greet and welcome us to his beautiful property. Fred is kind, generous, knowledgeable, and also very conscientious. He gave us a lot of locals' insight and recommendations for activities and restaurants. He also prepares a killer breakfast! (photo) The inn is quaint, cosy, and very homey. The decor is unique and interesting in every corner of every room. There's always something to look at! There's also some great rainy day activities. There's a room with a pool table, an enclosed porch with board games, a deck/gazebo, and lots of seating to enjoy the stunning back yard view from wherever on the property. The inn's location is prime. Walking distance to downtown Saranac. There is parking. Great value, especially with the breakfast! Would definitely stay here again.

Incredible experience! The owner is an excellent baker who really caters to her guests. The rooms were great and the location was even better beautiful scenery. The house was far enough away that you felt secluded but close enough to town that you can go in and get food and have fun

The place is beautiful. The host did not communicate well with us. We held an engagement party there. We were very respectful of the noise restrictions. The host ended our event early. Started picking up and putting away our things before we finished and very early in the evening. He was sort of rude to us.

The property was beautiful, and kept well. Fred was really great in giving us hiking and dining suggestions, and his stories kept us fully entertained. It was the perfect getaway from the city!

Very accommodating, beds are nice, rooms are clean and spacious, and it has a very interesting rustic atmosphere. It's filled with old and interesting stuff to look at. The owner went out of his way to get us snacks and breakfast even in the early hours of the morning.

Yelp
I wish there were a Porcupine Inn in every city I visit! Fred is a wonderful host, terrific cook, and an all around great person to welcome you to Saranac Lake. We stayed 2 nights in late June for a good friend's wedding. The rooms were magnificently kept and if you forgot any type of toiletry - the items were likely already in your room. Not only were toiletries available, but we also had discovered a small stash of mini water bottles, crackers, and snacks in one of the closets. Perfectly thought out preparation and presentation. Because of the old age of the house there is no AC, but rest assured every room comes equipped with a fan or two. Could not have asked for a more perfect weekend in Saranac Lake

Yelp
I've traveled all around the world and stayed in so many places, and there's just something about this little Bed and Breakfast that can't compare to anywhere else I've stayed. The hospitality here is "on point." The breakfast is amazing, the views are serene, and the guest rooms are quaint. I can not recommend a better stay for your Adirondack holiday.

Yelp
I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and this one is simply beautiful! Between the breathtaking landscape and charm of the house, it is truly ONE OF A KIND! Fred, the owner is lovely, he is incredibly attentive and an amazing cook!! We had such a wonderful time and I definitely will be coming back many times with my friends and family!

Yelp
It is difficult to add anything germain that's not already been written about this excellent B & B. Between the Inn (in general) and our Charles room (specifically) our stay at The Porcupine was what one imagines it was like during the 'Great Adirondak Lodge' period. Here you'll have run of this beautiful old mansion, the outer deck, and in our Charles Room a private porch/sitting area. We preferred the short walk to town (0.8 mi) rather than driving on a couple refreshing cool October mornings. Fred will refer you to the wonderful family-run Italian restaurant even closer than that at the bottom of the hill. We'll be back.

Yelp
The Porcupine Bed and Breakfast is by far, the most hospitable and comfortable Inn i have ever visited. The owner welcomes you at the door with open arms and makes sure that your stay is as pleasant as can be. The Porcupine is full of history, and the rooms are extremely cozy. It's a short drive to everything you would ever want to do in the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid area, and if you're not sure what to do, Meg will assist you in every way possible. Wonderful place. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, historic home. The host was personable and very helpful. The setting was relaxing, yet close to downtown Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, and numerous hiking trails. Breakfast was delicious, with bowls of berries, yogurts, made to order eggs, pastries, etc. we loved our stay there!

Yelp
My father, dog and I stayed here for 3 nights and had an amazing stay. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable. If your looking for a place to stay with or without a dog, this is most certainly the place! The owner is extremely welcoming, nice and always makes sure you have an amazing stay. We all will definitely be coming back! Thanks again!
