A sister restaurant to one which was already my favorite in PGH (Meat and Potatoes), Pork and Beans has an interior with much more subdued lighting (save the neon for the restrooms!), a much more rustic flavor (your bill comes in a literal steel can of pork and beans for instance), and food every bit as flavorful and wonderful as I had hoped.
When we came, there was a bit of a wait for the food - but it was worth it. We had drinks that were akin to a summer time freeze pop made into an alcoholic slushy, and sinfully delicious and hot pork rinds (seriously, give them a try!) before the main course. You probably don't need to add on sides to whatever you get, unless you're sharing it family style - which is an encouraged method!
Not a thing was bad about what I shared with friends here. We'll be going back again when we're in town, for sure.
