Simply lovely! The museum is an absolute piece of art by itself. The whole experience and the story behind the models are just amazing. The staff everywhere is really nice and helpful. As a student, I got a discount, and the parking cost only €6. However, it’s pretty narrow, so be careful if you have a bigger car.

Google
The ticket includes an audio guide with multiple language options. The spacious design of the Porsche Museum provides a great environment to experience and understand the evolution of Porsche cars. If you’re interested in German automotive history, this is a must-visit destination!

Google
It's a great museum and easy to reach by public transportation. We bought tickets in person since we didn't find any online. There are lockers where you can leave your belongings for free. The museum itself looks very bright and stylish. Also, you can find a cafe on the ground floor and a souvenir shop. I would recommend this museum!

I loved it! It's a must visit in Stuttgart for the automotive industry's fans. Specially with classics and formula 1 editions. I was running around like a kid in Disneyland! 2 hours will fly as if They were 2 minutes. It's fair to say that it's an absolute great value for money though! Also very nice that you can go there by train. I will revisit when I'm in Stuttgart again😊

Google
Amazing meseum. Easy to reach. Train station is just across the street. They are giving audio guide with each ticket so you can enjoy the history of each car you see there. There is cafe at ground floor and good options of food also a souvenir shop.

Visiting the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all expectations. I had the pleasure of exploring it with my family and friends, and each of us enjoyed every moment. The museum showcases a stunning collection of Porsche’s history, from early models to iconic masterpieces, illustrating the brand’s evolution and engineering marvels over the decades. The exhibits are interactive and engaging, making it an ideal destination for families, especially those with kids who can enjoy the fun displays and activities tailored for younger audiences. The museum is incredibly well-organized, and the wealth of knowledge provided makes it an enriching experience for all ages. I highly recommend the Porsche Museum; it’s a must-visit for anyone in Stuttgart, whether you’re an automotive enthusiast or just looking for a family-friendly outing.

Google
Phenomenal museum. Truly stylish and beautiful. Amazing staff, exhibits and general appearance. Entrance fee comes with a free audio tour which is extremely helpful. Several virtual reality games to play along with a simulator. There are 3 restaurants of different price points. The priciest has the best views but the modest one had good food and a view of the workshop. Clean modern bathrooms and very nice parking. Beautiful building. Makes me wish I could afford a Porsche now.

We visited the Porsche Museum on Sunday, December 22, with my son, a big car enthusiast. It was our first-ever car museum experience, and I think successful! We spent about four hours exploring, taking photos, and listening to the audio guide here and there. One highlight was waiting in line to sit inside and take pictures with the iconic Porsche Boxster — we enjoyed the car. The museum combines well-known history with lesser-known facts, such as how Porsche developed the first hybrid vehicle in 1900 or their work on military vehicles during WWII. You'll find exhibits on iconic models like the 911, but also rare gems, like the Porsche 356 "No.1" Roadster — their very first car. The admission fee was 12€ for two adults and a child, bought tickets on site. Parking was convenient in their covered parking garage directly under the museum — we paid €8 for the time we spent. Just a heads-up: if you're visiting on weekends or holidays, be prepared to spend extra time due to lines. Overall, the experience was great, and it’s one of those rare museums where kids like my boy can genuinely enjoy themselves, get off their phones, and engage with the exhibits. Highly recommend this place for families and car lovers alike!

Yelp
The Porsche museum is outstanding architecturally. There's a lot of different race cars and prototype models here and exhibits are spaced out, so it doesn't get too crowded. I think the gift shop is worth checking out, as they have some anniversary items. It's a big museum but you can cover the whole place in an hour or so. The butter pretzel and latte are also good here if you want to check out the cafe. However, if you're choosing between to visit the Porsche or the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart, I would personally visit the Mercedes museum as it has more history. Both are easily accessible by train.

Andrew Z.

Yelp
Underwhelming especially compared to the BMW museum. I'd say easily less than 100 cars and museum portion itself is quick to get through less than an hour even when it's busy. With now little there is to see entrance to the museum should be free and the gift shop is rather small and overpriced

Yelp
A visit that was long overdue. We got here on a Thursday around 2:30. Plan on at least 1.5 to 2 hours. Booked an 11:00 am Guided tour way in advance so forgot about the time. Luckily there was another tour at 3 so we were able to join which was fantastic. Our tour guide, Laura, was amazing! You get many more insights and back stories (I.e the 911 was originally the 901) I'm thinking with a Guided Tour so would recommend and well worth the nominal extra fee. A good size collection which changes regularly so always a reason to return. Cool to see they had a service garage onsite for the collection (given the cars travel occasionally for shows, etc.). No time for the factory tour so that will have to be next time. A decent sized souvenir shop and good coffee at the Cafe. A must stop whether you are an Enthusiast or not. Amazing service throughout. Thank you Marina and Laura! We will be back!

Yelp
I was not expecting to like this museum so much. I'll probably never own a Porsche, but it was so cool to learn about the history. The audio guide was really easy to use, and some of the exhibits were interactive. I loved the gift shop. It was small but they had some really fun unique things. We bought a Porsche shaped cookie cutter. We hadn't realized that the emblem actually says Stuttgart until learning about it and looking closer in the museum, so we bought a little pin with the emblem as well. I would also recommend their cafe/ cafeteria. They have some cute Porsche shaped treats and you can also get a pretty decent lunch.

Jay B.

Yelp
This museum isn't that big. Definitely do not recommend little kids as there isn't hands on activities. They do have a VR type experience. You can potentially walk through this museum in about an 1.5 hours or less if the crowd is smaller. As soon as you get off the train you are at the museum. This museum does give discounts if you have a day pass for the trains from DB. Did see a birthday party being held. Not sure all the activities that the kids were going to do. There is a restaurant there. Didn't go in as it was full. There are some cool cars but this is a one and done type museum to me.

Julie N.

Yelp
As a tourist who isn't as familiar with car history, performance, and mechanics, I was pleasantly surprised how inspirational this museum was for a layperson! Overall, very well organized space with an abundance of high performance cars on display in three levels above the reception area. Highlights: Time Taken: 2 hours max, 3 hours if you include dining and coffee break Parking - validated upon purchase of entry ticket Admission - affordable and worth it. You receive an audio device and lanyard to learn more about the different cars. Lanyard is for you to take home as a souvenir. Staff: very friendly and professional. Bilingual in German and English, answers all your questions Public/Private Tours: PLEASE NOTE that this requires reservation online months in advance as the new Porsche 911 recently was released, so more people are interested in the factory tours. We've been told you can ask day-of if anyone has cancelled or no-show for Public tours but there are no guarantees. Interactive Experience: I really enjoyed the audio device to explain various cars, and the interactive screens to listen to various Porsche car engines. Great for kids who want to experience the museum not just visually. There was a FREE Porsche racecar simulator that you can experience the various models on. That was very fun for people for all ages. Three of the new model cars were able to be touched and can sit in for pictures. Overall: highly recommend to visit for families, groups, anyone. It's a well-curated museum with clear display of successful race cars that have dominated history!

Anna W.

Yelp
I toured many different car museums in Europe this year and this one was very insightful on the history of Porsche. There weren't any special perks or anything to stand out from the other museums aside from the brand differences but if you're an automobile fan then it's worth a visit.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Number one on the list of to dos in Stuttgart is here. Two hours of examining tons and tons of Porsches going back to as far as the tractor https://youtu.be/sgtdsmFuk_4 and the Lohner-Porsche "Semper Vivus" built in 1900. A lot of historic vehicles, a lot of modern ones. Captions in English and German plus an audio guide that worked very well to provide some additional information. After about two hours, it has all started to blur together. After a while, the 911's start looking alike. There is, of course, a really neat gift shop and I found my fridge magnet. [Review 16407 overall - 212 in Germany - 1914 of 2021.]

Yelp
I typically come too the places for the food. I had a great salad.... Except for the soggy potatoes they add to it. I've learned after coming to this part of the country, they love to put excessive amount of dressing on their salads. I give the food a 5 out of 10. The museum itself was just ok. I've seen more mind blowing Porsches at Porsche week in Pebble beach(CA/USA) We can't here knowing, this would be a "been there, done that" part of our travels. Glad we stopped by.

Yelp
I could have spent a day here but you can make it through in a few hours depending on what you want to see, read or listen to. They give you a lanyard with a divorce and head phones when you enter. You can enter the number of the exhibit that you are looking at and it will tell you through your headphones the details of the exhibit. You just let them know the language that you require and they give you the proper device. The museum is as well crafted as the cars. You can also rent a Porsche just outside the museum doors to take a tour of Stuttgart ,Germany. If you are a gear head like me or not it is still an enjoyable experience. Also who knew that Porsche made tractors at one time. I won't spoil anything else for you. But this is a "must go" place.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
I absolutely love the journey the Porsche museum sends you through when you visit from its begins up until today with its crazy high end racer cars. They did an amazing job telling its story, showing you all they super cool cars created through the years, and it was pretty interactive throughout the whole museum. The tickets were are only 4 euros if you show your public transportation ticket, which is pretty affordable if you ask me for all the cool stuff they show you here! I love the brand even more now :)

Yelp

Yelp
A must see if you're in Stuttgart and love cars! This is a small museum, where you only need about 2 hours to see the whole museum. The tickets are cheap and the complimentary audio device will tell you all about the history of Porche! I love the brand, but this museum didn't blow me away like the BMW and Mercedes museum which is why I am giving this place 4 stars. The restaurants inside are worth visiting! Highly recommend that you check this out if you're in Stuttgart!

Claudine V.

Yelp
A must see in Stuttgart! Only 4EU per person. Long lines. Three types of restaurant inside. Holds the most expensive steakhouse in Stuttgart. Museum holds old and new cars since the beginning of Porsche. Available audio radio for English peeps to understand the history of Porsche from Ferdinand Porsche. The museum is all together , 3 floors. They have a small cafe in the 1st floor and a sit down restaurant. This place is open for kids as well. Kids are like 3 euros I think. Well my brother in law works for Porsche so maybe we got a discount. Stop by and cherish the history of Porsche sports car. Trust!!!

Yelp
For my 750th Yelp review I will choose a place I had on my bucket list, and somewhere that did not disappoint. I think Belinda Carlisle said it best when she said..."Oooh baby do you know what that's worth...Ooooh heaven is a place on earth. They say in heaven, that love comes first...we'll make heaven a place on earth." Thanks Belinda... Well heaven IS a place on Earth and that place is in Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart Germany. A place of Porsche...all of them. The engineering, the racing glory, the history, the beauty, and the perfection. I love Porsche's...they are amazing cars. They are also no longer just my childhood dream, or race track life-goals, or intangible things. I am lucky enough to have one...to be a part of some great car clubs, car culture, and to share my love of automobiles. When my wife and I were planning a Europe trip to be a part of a friend's wedding, we decided to add some other stops and a ton of driving. Germany, Austria, Czech...but one German stop for a couple days was super important to me. To see Porsche. Factory Tours start here, at the Museum. Driving experiences can be acquired here, at the Museum. Hours and hours of exploration of the history of the Porsche marque, the racing pedigree, the automotive passion for excellence, and every model, every evolution, and every ounce of engineering and design can be extracted from this place and this experience. The building is clean, yet artistic. From the outside you'll marvel at the jutting lines and architecture. On the inside it feels even more massive. It is tall, angular, and from the top of the escalators you'll instantly be on a chronological journey through coach building, engineering, production cars, and racing heritage. This place does not disappoint. I took more pictures here than all of Prague, Salzburg, Munich, and Frankfurt combined. That's just me. This is a MUST see in Stuttgart or Southern Germany for any car aficionado. Entry is dirt cheap. Only a few Euro, and Porsche Club of America members get a hefty discount. There's a coffee and snack shop, a very nice gift shop to buy Porsche things, and a full sit-down restaurant too. Reserve a 1, 3, 6 hour driving experience via the rentals concierge. Also have discount for PCA members. There is ample parking in and around the town, or in the numbered parking structures (and a short walk to the town center). I eat, sleep (dream), and live for Porsche. This was my jam. I could not stop smiling. Even when we left the Museum for our Factory tour (which was AWESOME btw -- and 3 hours long of engineering marvels) I still came back to the Museum and went back to a few certain cars for more pics and more jaw-dropping coolness. I wish to come back to Zuffenhausen some day to do a Euro delivery. That would be cooler than cool. That would be ice cold..! Make schnell folks...!

Katharine S.

Yelp
Tremendous! I loved my experience at this museum. Google Maps got us to the location without problem, and the signs for the entrance to the parking deck are marked clearly and plentiful. Admission was only 4€ for adults and 2€ for students (and young-looking educators with ID proof!), which meant a meager $18 for my boyfriend and me. The size of the museum was just perfect for me, as someone who does not have a huge attachment to the Porsche brand. Spending two hours in the exhibits was just the right amount of time. I learnt so much about the company's history in racing and about the evolution of the models. The museum is beautiful, inside and out, and the cars are displayed flatteringly. I never got bored of reading the printed explanations (they are in both English and German) in front of each vehicle. Damn, are Porsches exquisite cars! I speak enough German to fool people that I can handle things in the language (thanks, college!), so my boyfriend and I ended up with headsets that were programmed for German. We didn't feel like going back down the escalator to switch them for English headsets, so we might have missed some good information provided in that medium. My boyfriend, the car-lover, noted that while he learnt a number of new facts at the museum, he wished that more technical information had been provided. Maybe that was in the audio tour! We arrived at the museum in the early afternoon, and we hadn't yet had lunch. The restaurant was excellent: so sleek and attractive inside, with a menu that was printed in both German and English. So useful for those guests, like my boyfriend, who don't speak German (alas!). Our server was very friendly and our meals were tasty and reasonably priced ($24 for the two of us, including drinks.) The walls and the windows of the restaurant are glass, and we had a great time watching the entrance to the museum. When we were first seated, there were twenty fancy Posches parked under the museum roof. Visitors can admire them, and one can purchase an hour's permission to drive them. We saw a lot of excited people get the keys and drive away! Having since been to the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the BMW Museum, I would have liked to have learnt more about the history of the company in the museum. The history of the company's involvement in racing is well-documented, but I didn't get a sense of the larger picture of the company's ups and downs throughout history. Notably absent is discussion of what Porsche was up to doing WWII and the relationship between Volkswagen and Porsche. A five star museum experience, nevertheless. I learnt a lot; everything was pretty to look at; the amenities like parking, the restaurant, and the gift store were top notch. And it didn't hurt that everyone who was visiting was visibly excited about being there!

Amin B.

Yelp
Smaller than the Mercedes Benz museum, but brighter are more popping colors. Also has a cafe and a gift shop. I believe the factory is next to it.

D'Arcy L.

Yelp
Amazing museum for the Porsche fanatic or a car lover. They really do have the whole history of Porsche covered on display from iconic racing cars of yesteryear to past present and current Porsche sports car models plus a few cool surprises. You can browse at your pace and take an audio tour of the museum (recommended). On the entrance or exit there is a gift shop with hard to find items if that's what you are looking for! Everything is extremely well thought of, super clean and well displayed! A well spent 8€. Check the schedule for days open ahead. As the museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed Mondays plus certain holidays.

Amanda D.

Yelp
Oh my god I was gonna wait to review stuff until I got home, but I am still uploading pictures from today and need to do it now. Let's just say I toured one of my favorite breweries yesterday and took just 33 pictures...I took over 150 here. Due to time constraints, coming from Strasbourg all alone, being cheap and going on local trains, and blah blah blah, I had to pick between Mercedes and Porsche. I chose the one that has my favorite Le Mans cars. (Also, the Stuttgart Spring Festival goers were not my ideal train riding mates for a station towards Mercedes...since I was not hammered I would not be interested in jamming myself into a train too.) I spent almost 3 hours here, looking at everything, listening to almost every part of the audio guide. It is totally worth its price, because without it you won't know what the movies being shown are about. It's only 8 euro to get in but if you're a student, it's half price, which is awesome. For me, the audio guide was an extra 2, I'm not sure if it's 2 or 4 for a regularly priced ticket. I loved the display of 917s, my favorites. I didn't think there were going to be so many of them, and the lighting behind them was really nice. I about died when I saw Prost's 1984 McLaren-TAG Formula 1 car. It makes sense that it's there, since Porsche was the engine supplier, but it wasn't expected. There is a 911 Carrera you can sit in if you so desire, and you might realize you could get use to sitting in there...I did. Nearby you can also stand on certain spots on the floor and it will vibrate while the sound of the car's engine surrounds you above. The 917 sounds even better that way than it does in the movie Le Mans, especially when you get to feel it too. I learned a lot from the whole museum, and it was awesome to be able to finally see so many cars in person. I've thought the 968 was a good looking car for several years now, but I'd only seen pictures, so seeing one in person was wonderful. Don't even get me started on how awesome it was to see the Gulf 917 or a Carrera GT though. The gift shop was neat too, I loved the sort of retro designed "advertisement" postcards, and I think I got the perfect little book as a memory of my awesome adventure to Stuttgart.

Kim N.

Yelp
The company that started my love of cars and driving. The 911 has been a classic for quite a while now, but when times got tough, they engineered, designed, and innovated new excellent platforms, to reinvent themselves. If you've recently driven a 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne or Panamera you'll know that there's really very few examples of better price/performance value out there. It's too bad the majority of the owners buy their cars for the wrong reason (at least in the US). Not taken out when it rains? 65 in the middle lane? Are you fucking kidding me? Cars like these are meant to be driven!

Jason E.

Yelp
This museum is phenomenal. I don't really know what more I can say. The chronological flow the museum shows the progression of Porsche through time, from the early 1900's into present day. The museum also educates the viewer on how cars are made, Porsche-specific contributions to the automotive world, and rubs it in with an innovative trophy display. The design of the building is fantastic. Large, open white spaces with black accents throughout give this place a fantastic ambiance. There are very few, if any, barriers between you and the cars on display. The exterior of the building is striking. You have to cross the street to even be able to see the entire building. The museum allows you to pace yourself and gives you the option of how much or how little you want to learn about each car or the history of the company. Stop by the gift shop on the way out for some free chocolates, each with a different Porsche car on the label! Overall an excellent experience. One thing, though, everyone. Porsche was kind enough to not restrict access to the display cars by putting up barriers. Please, lets all keep it that way and not take advantage of this. If there is a sign that days don't touch, don't touch or more specifically, don't let your kids touch! Let's keep this beautiful museum, and the beautiful masterpieces of engineering that it houses, in tact for the next guests.

Jessica D.

Yelp
We visited the Porsche Museum the same day we visited the Mercedes Museum. VERY different - but both fantastic museums. The interior of the porsche museum is white, clean sleek lines. They have a few floors of cars. Some you can get in, get your picture, and move on. It doesn't take long to explore unless you read every single thing about the cars - but it was a pretty cool experience for this gal who is NOT a car gal :)

Derek W.

Yelp
I scheduled my tour with my local Porsche dealer and it was well worth it (you can do it online as well). The tour has an audio guide which will take you from each car, beginning in the very early years all the way through todays 991. It was amazing to learn more about the engineering of the vehicle, to see the prototypes, and eventually see the 918 near the end of the tour. As you can see from the pictures, the museum is very well laid out, is very simple, great for picture taking, and will give you an opportunity to sit in one of the latest cars. While we were there, we were able to sit in the new 911 Turbo. If you have an interest in driving one of the current cars, there is a rental service near the museum entrance which have a few of the Porsche models and a variety of rental options (i.e. from an hour to a day I believe). Well worth the visit!

Doug Q.

Yelp
Outstanding display thru time. If you are a Porsche fanatic, this is a must do The racing heritage is very interesting,as well as all other models from the beginning to current. BEAUTIFUL

Nola G.

Yelp
The Porsche Museum is located at the Porsche headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. The exhibit features approximately 80 historical and new exhibits. Both the architecture of the building and the cars are stunning! The Museum is smaller than Mercedes, however, the history, technology, engineering, and vision was an interesting experience and earned my respect. The audio guide is included with the entrance fee. The Museum is closed on Monday. Adult admission is €8. There is a gift shop, Coffee Bar, and the Boxenstopp cafe is on the main level. Event information is available on-line. Factory tours can also be arranged Monday-Friday by phone or e-mail. www.porsche.com www.porsche.de/Museum

Yelp
This is one of the coolest museums I've ever been to! First off its a pretty modern building which is fun to look at, (and very easy to get to by train). Inside is a lot of fun, you buy your tickets and take an escalator to the top and then you start working your way around, there is also an audio tour available if you want, but the descriptions of the cars are in both German and English. They have every kind of car plus a few other things. Lots of race, vintage, prototypes and other cars are there to be seen, they even have other brand cars that were designed together by Porsche. The gift shop has models of a good majority of the cars if you want to take one home! Overall I would recommend this museums for anyone who like to see anything that goes fast :)

Jonah K.

Yelp
Small, but very cool museum, lots of attention on the assembly, engineering, and facing heritige of this fine manufacturer. Definately worth the 9 euro admission fee!

Theresa W.

Yelp
So fun! The place is beautifully designed, and feels so elegant. We went to a private function at this place, so our experience might be different - we didn't have tours, but we had several staff members around the museum to answer any questions we might have (and they all spoke English, which was great since we were pretty much an English-speaking party). They also served drinks and appies in the lobby and had coat check for those who needed it. They had lockers as well for those looking to store larger things, and the entire museum is mobility friendly for those who need walking assistance. There are several vehicles on display including one-off cars and even cars that aren't Porsche but contributed to the history of motor vehicles in some way. I really like the variety of displays - how they were able to keep things interesting for car fans and non-car fans alike. Lastly, the bathrooms here are POSH. Yes, I include bathrooms in a bunch of my reviews. They're important. Overall, great place to go check out if you're in Stuttgart. :)

Yuji M.

Yelp
4 and a half stars? Really? If you're a car enthusiastic this place is a heaven on earth, no kidding. Yes its a smaller place compared to Benz but you get as much cars as you expect, from piece of history to high-end racing cars, there's nothing to get bored of. Sniff the smell of petroleum from those rally cars and machines...you definitely won't forget. My favorite piece was 959 Dakar Rally spec. Everything was intact, from the smell to the stains it got in Sahara. Its a piece of art really.

Johann G.

Yelp
If I could move in there I would, I first bowed to the great 911 in front of the museum they had there at Christmas. My heart started to race as soon as I ascended on the scalators and started seeing the hundreds of great cars. The collection of cars they had to include prior to the beginning or Porsche itself were great. Easy to see and take pictures unfortunately you can't sit on them but it is a museum. I had to stop at the cafe and have a beer to calf my heart down. The museum shop was OK, but I went there to see great cars and they delivered!! Public transportations drops you of a couple of hundred meters from the entrance. One caveat, the Mercedes Benz Museum is better, sorry.

Joy Y.

Yelp
I really really like the architecture of thie museum. They have more modern cars than the Benz museum and seemed to have less intro in history. I'm not a car junkie and was only looking to snap some cool pictures and this museum is definitely better for that purpose.

Andrew C.

Yelp
This is a great museum to see some nice cars in the history of Porsche. The museum store has a lot of posters and miniature cars that run about 50€+ and some other swag. Good place to stop and see. Make sure to combine this with lunch at the restaurant.

Qype User (filcha…)

Yelp
Whilst not quite as good as the Mercedes-Benz museum, which is one of the best I've ever been to, I still really enjoyed the Porsche museum too! There's nothing about sustainability here, it's all about extreme engineering, and it would appear that speed is indeed, just a question of money. You don't need a lot of it to go here, just EUR8 in fact, but if you want to take home that Carerra GT without bargining, you'll want to add EUR445k to that. Architecturally, it's another mean feat, and certainly one of the weirdest buildings I've been in recently. It works well as a museum though, and has a nice open-plan layout inside. The cafe downstairs (see my other review) is decent, and the hardware is tip top. Well worth a look for anyone who appreciates the beauty of engineering, and perhaps not for Greenpeace members... oh wait...

Yelp
I am not at all a car person, but my husband and I really enjoyed our trip to the Porsche museum. It is small - we did the whole visit in under 2 hours - but there are lots of cool cars to see, and the building itself is really pretty architecturally interesting. The only reason I'd give this museum 4 stars instead of 5 is that there's not a whole lot that's hands-on or interactive. There was one video-game like racing simulation, but other than that it's pretty much all looking and not touching. Very good audio guide, clean restrooms, and friendly and helpful staff all add points for this place.

Yelp
Alright, even if you own a Porsche, you really haven't experienced a Porsche until you visit the Porsche Museum. I have a Porsche and need I say that I feel more proud to be an owner. Enough of the sentimental tear jerker. So I took the train from Heidelberg to Stuttgart. The trip took about 45min-1hr. Took the ICE train to Stuttgart which cost EU25 each way. Being an old school graffiti artist, I am enjoying the tons of pieces zipping by in the background. Got off at Stuttgart which is a final destination for all trains arriving. Now the fun part. Finding the local train to take me to the Porsche Museum. I go to the DB to purchase my ticket (round trip EU6) and they direct me where to go. To the end of the station, go down the escalators. The ticket that I purchased needed to be stamped in a yellow box. Where's the yellow box??? So the ticket is just to ride the local train. No specific train. Thank goodness for DB Navigation App. If you travel in Germany, you need this App. So App said Terminal C Train 6. So I asked a Customer Assistance where this was located and her pointed at the signs to follow. Yeah!!! I'm on the platform and on my way. It seems the journey is half the fun. The train stop drops you right in front of the Museum. Outside of the entrance is lined with Hybrid Porsches in an array of colors. Across the street is the dealership and to the right of the dealership is their offices. Enter I go. Purchase ticket (EU8) and get my English version headphones to tell me stories about each car. So you take this long escalator up about 5 floors. And they have stairs next to the escalators (crazy workout) if you dare. As you exit the escalator, you are greeted by 1939 Type 64. Wow!!! Makes you what were they thinking back then. Remember, this is pre-WWII. As you veer left, you run into the first ever Volkswagon (the peoples car) 1934. And then the car that started it all. The Porsche Type 356 "Nr. 1". The very first Porsche ever. All other makes from the 911 to the Boxter comes from this model, "Nr. 1". And then on to the second best car in the building, the 1953 Porsche 356 American Roadster. What's so special about this car other than it's faster and lighter, it was only available in America. To the left again, you hit all of the racing cars. As you go further up, you'll see street drivin Porsches that you may never see in your neighborhood. The Porsche 911 GT1 Strassbenversion. OMG, this car just looks so cool and fast just sitting there. More stuff around the corner. Oh man am I getting tired. Overall, if you enjoy looking at cars and marveling at the history behind it, this is the place for you. I also recommend going to the Mercedes Museum too. Also located in Stuttgart. There is a restaurant on the left of the entrance. They pretty much have everything to eat at a reasonable price. If you would like a tour of the manufacturing plant, reservations are three months in advance and you need to know someone. The gift shop is very limited. I couldn't find a Porsche item with Stuttgart on it. I went across the street to the dealership and found a shirt. It cost EU70, but it said Porsche and Stuttgart on it. So five stars if they had a better gift shop.

Yelp
Worth a stop. Stay for a few hours to get a good history of them.

Yelp
Wow. What an absolutely incredible place. Even if you have no interest in cars, this place will amaze you. Make sure you get the audio-guide, otherwise you're going to miss 3/4 of the information. If you have your own headphones, bring those because the provided headsets suck. If you're a "casual" visitor, give yourself about 3 hours to see everything. If you're a "hardcore fan", you're going to need 4-5 hours. Have a camera? Just show up when they open and stay all day.

Yelp
Although we did not visit on a day where tours were operating, this was still a very nicely done museum, well worth the very small entry fee. The collection is pretty massive, including a lot of vehicles were only a few examples were made or still exist, and everything is in excellent condition with English and German signage. Audioguides are included with the tour and provide a huge wealth of information above and beyond what's written next to each item. I had a few complaints though - the 959 I was praying they would have in their collection was pushed in to a corner and sitting in the sun - difficult to see and impossible to walk around. So you can look at the side and the back, but not even the front, since that's facing a wall. Seemed odd. Also, many of the vehicles have "Porsche Museum" decals on their doors - including 70s classic items where it really really looks out of place. I'm curious as to why this is done - why wouldn't you present a museum exhibit in it's "original" condition? I know I'm in the Porsche Museum, so the decals are pretty unnecessary. I also kind of wish the gift shop was better? Not owning a Porsche, it didn't affect me, but for anyone who does own and and makes a pilgrimage, they should sell more assorted stuff to cater to each vehicle. I know that's a lot of different models, but it would be fun for people to be able to buy the model of their car from the museum, and that's not possible in most cases. I guess I just expected a better assortment of paraphernalia. Gift shop, 959, and decals aside, this is extremely worthwhile if you're a car person. Parking is even validated - no excuses.

Yelp
Awesome! Get in the factory tour as that's a two hour visit worth more than words. As a lifelong fan of Porsche, I would recommend the tour in addition to the museum which is fun but very small. Sadly, I did not reserve a spot for me and the kid, and after sending emails, calls several day before the visit was told that they were booked up for the year (2015). Told the same thing at the ticket desk but thanks to trip advisor, asked to be put on the wait list and smiled very nicely.....we got in because of a no show. Truly the best tour ever. Made my day/year. No phones or cameras allowed in the factory and I forgot my spy camera (kidding). I want the silver GT3 RS that was sitting outside waiting for shipping. In case I come into a fortune, I'll pick mine up at the factory.....or just keep driving the old one, and keep dreaming....or look at my kid's very expensive Porsche museum gift shop model GT3 and make car noises.....

Yelp
Worth checking out if in Stuttgart - only 8 euros to see the cars, great layout and space for the cars. Public transport goes directly to the museum.
