Port Authority of Port of Antwerp-Bruges

This is such a beautiful building, I am at a loss for words. This Zaha Hadid building is stunning in concept, design and architecture. It was worth the time figuring out how to get here via tram and enjoying it for at least a half hour (it was closing time when we finally reached the area). It felt like I was stepping into a book of “best architectural buildings in the world”. A great experience for all those who enjoy modern architecture.

(Nov 2024) The building was designed by the great architect Zaha Hadid. According to wikipedia, it is the only government building that she designed. Her intention is manifested clearly and well fitted to the surrounding port environment. You can see a big aerial view of Antwerp Port on the ground floor of the building. I also loved the inside of what she added to the original port house. It was just great enjoying the view from the auditorium. The people working here are all welcoming and professional. Thanks a lot!

It's worth the walk! There is a small cafeteria as well, perfect for replenishing some energy.

A beautiful landmark at the limits of the port of Antwerp. The upper part of the Port Authority Headquarters of the port of Antwerp-Bruges was designed by the architect Zaha Hadid. We did a guided tour of the building and its surroundings. Inside the building the architect incorporated design elements that improve communication between employees, made sure that feel the connect with the port (you almost always see the movement of boats). She also built the upper part without breaking nor resting on the classified lower part of the building. From the inside you can get some nice views of the port.

Stunning architectural landmark by Zaha Hadid. Though you can see it from afar, it’s worth the walk for a closer look.

Imposing building that, while being visible from far, is worth the trip outside the city centre.

Stunning building port house of Antwerp Bruges port ! It is a mix of an older building with a newer massive boat shapes glass structure erecting from the centre of the older building and leaning on a massive colomn. I don’t think a visit to the inside is possible however you can clearly see employees on the inside. Great cosy and calm square right in front of it, with amaizing views to the surrounding waters and enough sitting area👍🏻 Easily accessible by tram.

World's worst harbour. They have dropped our trucks keys into to see, and there is only one mechanic at entire port who is in capacicated. Be aware if you are planning any route tru this port
