Port Of St. Maarten

Great stop the break up our trip, was it over the topic exciting no but with two younger kids a chance to take the water taxi to the public beach for a few hours was perfect. If you’re not traveling with kids, there seem to be some very good smells coming out of the restaurants on the strip across from the beach and it would be a great opportunity to sit down and have a drink and enjoy some local food. Everyone was friendly and nice, yes, you do have your local street vendors trying to sell you hats and charms but they were not too over the top and a polite no would keep them moving on.

We decided to stay close so we only want to Great Bay Beach again. The water taxi is only $7 for road trip travel to the beach. Don't let yourself get suckered into paying $30, $40 or even $50 for umbrellas and chairs. You can get them for 10 bucks. The next time we go to St Martin, we're going to try out Orient Beach. It's supposed to be one of the very very best beaches on the island. Know that the clothing optional feature of Orient Beach is a separate area of Orient Beach, so you can take your children and not have to worry about the nudity if it is something that happens to offend you.

Gorgeous place and great to see the aircraft come over. It was overly busy. Very narrow roads so anyone with mobility problems and needs an aid will have difficulty as you can't get past all the cars.

Many shops and stalls selling souvenirs, clothing and duty-free products are conveniently located just at the exit of the Port. There are also food stalls, restaurants and pubs to the delight of cruise tourists. Well organized layout for the ease and convenience for cruise travellers

Lovely clean vibrant port , the usual touristy tat and a lovely beach only a short walk away 😎👍🏻

We loved the port area despite the 106 heat index and high humidity. The port was very walkable with many shops. Only one restaurant though (hence the 4 stars). Nice shuttle to and from the ship to the shops area.

One of favorite stops possibly #1. Beautiful views of the mountains, shops with friendly locals and cool breeze late in the day. We will be back!

Quite small. Very very expensive. Not much to see. Need to go out of town to have a better view of the island.
