The lodge is located on the river banks which provide a beautiful view. The rooms are decent which just about it. The service was very poor, rude staff who would not provide meaningful responses to inquiries. This applies to the two receptionist, two ladies who serve in the dinning hall and the manager. The wifi service was almost non existant in rooms. Place is more suitable for holidays not business trips.

Nice place to stay for Sardine Run. Right next to the river with their own jetty to get aboard the boats. Rooms offer a good amount of space but are not in the best condition anymore but still ok. Food at the restaurant is ok but unfortunately it was often cold already which is the main reason why I just give 3 stars.

Very clean, rooms are immaculate and look good. Bathroom could do with an upgrade. But lovely hot water shower nonetheless. Beautiful view from the rooms. Set in a very serene area.

I did not like the dogs running around in the restaurant while we were having dinner. It takes over an hour to get food because one person serves everyone. The lady serving us was very friendly and welcoming though.

Horrible! The pool is grass green, the lady at reception was so unfriendly and not helpful. We had no signal, they stuffed us into a chalet that is horrible with a broken Aircon, and after I complained about it, I got ignored. I had to go the reception for a second time to complain a day after before we got served. Thank you to the white gentleman that assisted me with immediate effect after he saw my frustration and irritation. I didn't get your name but you sure made the holiday a bit better with your excellent service . Even tho the end was a good one I won't return.

I stayed in for 2 nights chevking on 2025/03/06-07. Just on arrival, i had to ask them to bring the remote for- the air conditioner which they did after some time, noting that it was very hot. The room i was given, was definitely small - Could barely move in the shower, or in the toilet etc. Day 2( asked for different room but still they insisted they were fully booked), you would have thought they would provide new soap, shower gel etc for the second night, but no. Otherwise breakfast is not bad, and the views are good. Regards

My family and i stayed from the 20 to 22/ 03/2025. When we got there the electricity had just gone off 30min prior. The rest of the street had lights but the property we were occupying was withouy electricity. We were advised by the lady that the electrcity could be back maybe after an hour, generator needed fixing. But did not know what the issues was. They were wainting for owner to look into it.. We went to bed with no lights, nothing cattered for in the rooms so we were left to our phones. Fortunately they had gas stove, so we were able to make super. In the morning still no electricity. To top it up there was also no water, water stoped in the minddle of the shower. We were not able so much as the toilets. The rest of the family unfortunately could not freshen up that day. Electricity returned briefly. We went to bed on the second night with no electricity or water. Staff were not aware what the problems was. Nor was there any communication to say whats going on or at least give us options. The stay was difficult as we were deprived of basic necessities. We brought matter to receptions attention with a request for a discount. Discount was refused. The lodge could have delt with the matter in a better way.. 1. Communication: advise what the challenge is. 2. Offer option to cancel and look for alternative accomodation: there seemed to be pressure in receiving their fee, little consern about everything else. Whe the electricity was back briefly. The aircon was also not working.. I hope they improve their service. The place is decent and had nice facilities.

If only I could give this place a half star I would certainly do so... didnt even realise that spotted granter & Port st John'sriver lodge are at the same place and owned by the same owner... ordered Mac and cheese and Malva pudding... it was the wost food ever... I ended having diarrhoea and suffered the whole night and day after eating that food. Ordered was placed 18:15 only got my food at 19:40... both dishes where absolutely terrible. As for breakfast had an oily omelet... on top of being sick you couldn't even sleep properly because of the noise, slamming of vehicle doors and reving of vehicles and the dogs never kept quiet. Upon arrival to my room my room was left open, dirty water and a mop left out right in front of the room door. While resting in my room, the service lady then comes to replenish the tea, coffee, sugar etc. The bathroom window was cracked and there was no handle and it was a mission to close it. The bathroom towel rail and the blinds was also broken. I've reported this to the lady at reception and she says she's been reporting it so many times but nothing has been done. This inconvenience has put me off my work trip. As they saying goes nice from far but far from nice.
