Not a good experience.
On arrival we asked for a table for two, to have lunch.
Instead of showing us the way, we were asked if we have already seen the menu. (?)
I made a question mark face then the reception guy said “we are a fish restaurant”. I replied “that’s ok for us”.
Probably the question was asked because it’s a pretentious and expensive place, and they wanted to know if we have seen their prices in order to afford for them? We were wearing long shorts, sandals and simple t-shirts. Maybe they thought they are “too fancy” for us?
I must add that besides the two of us, the restaurant was totally empty. In the other hand, all restaurants around were crowded. Sunday at 1.30PM with many waiters and waitresses and not a single client (see pictures), my “alarm” should have turned on. It didn’t and we sat down for lunch.
Now I can understand the reason for not a soul eating there. The restaurant is totally overpriced and the food comes in diminishing portions that are not tasty.
The spritz was the worse in my 3 weeks in Italy.
The appetizer (grilled octopus) was overcooked.
The main courses were “ok” but nothing to write home about. Portions sizes would be ok for 6 years old kids.
Service is good because there are several waiters and waitresses without any customers, so you have at least four of them walking no stop around your table while asking if you want another drink, etc
Resume: Pretentious, overpriced, and not tasty. Can’t understand the 4.7 rate on GoogleMaps. Maybe it’s time for not trusting GoogleMaps scores anymore?
All by all a place to avoid, in my opinion.
