Yelp
Great service and beautiful views. This was our first meal in Sorrento. Food was fresh and tasted amazing. The catch of the day was Sea Bass and it was cooked to perfection and filled with flavor, yet it was also done so simply. My wife got the Octopus and another great entree.

Yelp
Excellent, fresh food and fish! Great service from a family owned business!! Awesome view by the water!

Yelp
Run by a wonderful family who really takes care of their guests. Great menu - we had the monkfish with big pasta and the octopus carpaccio which were delicious. Although we had to wait 20 mins for a table, we were handed a complimentary glass of white wine which made the wait easier.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to dine here for an anniversary dinner with my wife, here are a few takeaways I have based off my experience: Service - the restaurant was booming when we arrived (around 7/7:30pm). We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait and it took maybe about 10/15 mins for us to get seated. The staff was a small team of about 4/5 people but they did their best to move quickly to make sure everyone enjoyed the experience. If we needed anything, they were quick to act on the request and even gave us wine as a thank you to pass the time while we waited. Ambiance - the restaurant is literally right off the water, so if you are looking for a location to watch the sun set over the water, this and a few other shops along the pier are prefect for that. Because of this reason, most of the seating is outside, yet there is an option to sit inside as well, which is something to keep in mind if you want to get seated quicker and maybe have a larger party. Food - now for the most important thing, the food. I thought the dishes were just okay, not anything over the top, but still good enough to be enjoyable. There was a moment when I first got my food (lobster and pasta) that I realized the noodles weren't cooked all the way. I mentioned it to the waiter and she had them cooked again. After that change, the food tasted much better, but if I'm being honest, I don't think it was worth the wait or the price. If you're in the area and it's not as busy, I would suggest getting it a try to decide for yourself. But if you're looking for an experience that will blow you away and get seated quickly, I would suggest trying another spot. Also! In regards to payment- I would recommend paying with cash when you go. Our meal came out to $70 and I paid with card, yet when I checked my bank account I was charged $75 dollars. I'm not sure where the additional fees came from or why they weren't disclosed, but would definitely recommend paying with cash so that error can be avoided in the future.

Yelp
Delicious mozzarella and tomatoes followed by grilled swordfish and an excellent house white wine. We sat along the walkway and enjoyed the harbor view. A family owned business were we caught glimpses of 4 generations. The service was excellent, we were well attended and not rushed.

Yelp
We had dinner here but weren't really impressed. While I liked our server, I found the staff to be a bit pushy with ordering drinks, food, sides, etc. Something that also left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth was watching them recycle the leftover bread on the table for the next party... are you so cheap that you can't use a set of new bread?? We ordered the grilled catch of the day (sea bream) along with a grilled mixed seafood. The grilled mixed seafood is better value as it includes a half sea bream, along with mahi, squid, and one langoustine. Honestly, we found the grilled seafood to lack flavour... a bit of salt would've been amazing, but there were no shakers available on the table. That said, the fish was quite tender and didn't have any fishiness. Prices were okay for the area but not cheap.

Yelp
Porta Marina is a wonderful little seaside cafe in Sorrento Italy While staying in Sorrento, I wanted to try a restaurant close to the water, and Porta Marina seemed very popular. We walked near the front of the establishment and were immediately greeted by the staff. She quickly found us a table, brought us drinks and took out orders. I chose the linguine with lobster and was pleasantly surprised. I imagined that the dish would be linguine with some bits and pieces of lobster. It was actually a whole lobster. Fantastic! The food was excellent and the staff was warm and friendly. Porta Marina is a great choice if you decide to dine near the harbor.

Yelp
Delicious food, great view! I got the lobster pasta, delicious! Family run business, staff was very attentive. Didn't have to wait long, and we enjoyed our first night in Sorrento :)

Yelp
This place was great! We walked up and we were instantly greeted by the owner with two glasses of wine while we waited (about 10 a minute wait). The ambiance was absolutely amazing! A great view, a man playing live music and everyone was just happy to be there. The menu had a nice variety and the food came out super quick. Our server was was amazing and so sweet! This made our last night in Italy absolutely amazing!

Yelp
Excellent, but slightly expensive. Best from all on the marina. The fried mixed fish was delicious

Yelp
My absolute favorite meal in Positano! You have to have the lemon delight there! It's the best we had and we tried it at 4 or 5 different places. After we had it there we were disappointed everywhere else! The mussels were so fresh that they tasted sweet. Absolutely divine food and atmosphere!

Yelp
During our time in Sorrento we only had one night we didn't have dinner reservations. After a quick search on google, looking for something besides pasta, we came across Porta Marina. It is a decent walk down to the docks- we opted to walk down the winding walkways. Not sure if you can take the elevator down which is more in the center part of town and then walk over. But the walk was worth it for the view alone. We lucked out and were seated right away (though by the time we left there was a line), right at the edge of the water. It was a bit of a windy night so we had to be creative to use items to hold the table cloth down, but the weather calmed down as dinner went on. We started with the clams and mussels which were cooked perfectly, and tasted so fresh and delicious. There was also plenty of bread brought to the table which was perfect for soaking up the broth from the shellfish. For the main course I had the fried catch of the day which was Sea Bream- it's a mild white fish and was nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. My husband had the seafood risotto- which was a bit of a repeat of our appetizer, since it also contained mussels and clams, but it also had fish, shell on shrimp and calamari. We finished by sharing a lemon dessert which was layers of cake with a lemon frosting/pudding on top. This was a great meal in Sorrento, with fresh seafood, fast service and a beautiful view.

Yelp
The best dinner we have had so far in Italy! This restaurant run by a family fisherman was recommended by our local guide, and it did not disappoint. The seafood dishes are especially fresh and delicious. The mixed seafood appetizer, tomato salad, seafood spaghetti, mixed seafood grill, and fried anchovies were all good to excellent. It was a little far from our rental apartment, but definitely worth the walk. Forgot to mention that the prices are very reasonable. Our total bill came to $108 for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 3 main courses, and a side salad.

Yelp
We had a great meal at Porta Marina while in Sorrento. We arrived around 7 and it got busy quickly. Service was kind, the food was incredible with great prices. I would definitely recommend stopping here while in Sorrento for a delicious casual meal.

Kallie G.

Yelp
Amazing location and even more amazing seafood and pasta. Staff were so friendly and we were blown away by how fresh the seafood was! We sat right on the water, no reservation and no wait as we got there a little earlier than 7 pm. Highly recommend porta Marina!

Yelp
One of my favorite spots when visiting Sorrento. I've never had to wait for table, yet it's always busy! Good timing? They just run a smooth operation. I'm a seafood lover, but throw in a sunset and seaside serenade, and I'm in heaven. Food is reasonable, ample, and delicious. I love the pulpo (grilled octopus) and mussels. I always enjoy coming here; even the walk down to the port from town above is a journey in itself. (Avoid heels, ladies!) Love the vibe and ambience. A hidden gem. Staff is great too.

Yelp
We just had a fantastic dinner at Porta Marina! A lovely waterfront casual atmosphere with great service and excellent food. The shrimp in the seafood pasta was the most flavorful my husband had ever had. The swordfish in my Catch of the Day pasta was plentiful to the point that I couldn't finish it. We shared the calamari to finish it off and the lightly battered, thick rings were amazing. If you're looking for an excellent atmosphere that produces well priced plates, look no further!

Yelp
The fresh catch of the day seafood is always on point at this family owned restaurant... We ate here 3x during our stay in Sorrento.. It was sooo delicious and on our second visit they remembered us from our first and on our 3rd meal there they already know what our choice of drinks were... so attentive and truly a nice lunch or dinner spot by the waterfront overlooking Mt Vesuvius... Nice ambience to have a sunset dinner and nightly a couple of friends were bussing and playing such a good vibe music (not related to the resto but they were playing by the walkway for diners to enjoy a good music... Don't miss to get the mussels to begin your meal or for sharing...

Yelp
Food was delicious, sea food was so fresh, family business, so friendly. Owner came to talk to us. Gabriel and Anna are amazing.

Yelp
A perfect meal in a beautiful spot. My wife had perfectly grilled swordfish, but was jealous of the Paccheri with monk fish I ordered, which was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten.
google avatar

Adrienne M.

Yelp
I can see why people love this small family run place. Eating outside with a beautiful view of the marina and the freshest seafood. We had the amazing mussels which tasted like the sea (not very garlicky with a delicious broth) and the seafood pasts and gnocchi. Was expecting gnocchi to be more tender and soft, but was a little chewy. Do not leave without trying the tiramisu.
google avatar

Stephen W.

Yelp
We first found this restaurant in 2018 through Yelp. It was a beautiful walk down to the water, and it is immediately apparent that this is a local favorite. I have been dreaming of coming back here since 2018, and it was as wonderful as my memory. The family atmosphere is front and center, and they are beautiful people. The chef made some tirimasu because we were celebrating a birthday. It was the absolute best tirimasu we have ever had. I don't know if it is on the menu, but it was so special! If I am ever fortunate enough to return to Sorrento, I will be eating here again!

Yelp
If you love seafood, definitely come here! It's a super popular destination but has plentiful seating, so make sure to arrive early. The view is right next to the water and you can enjoy drinks from the bar while waiting for your seat. Sorrento prices are more expensive than Rome, but the seafood at this restaurant was definitely worth it. The mussels and clams were fresh & my spaghetti and clams dish was one of the best I've had. I would recommend trying that or trying one of their fish dishes. Definitely a good destination for a date or just somewhere with the most beautiful ambience! We enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco along with our meal & it was one of the most memorable nights we had.

Yelp
Tried this place based on past reviews and pictures and let me tell you we were so glad we did. The food was amazing and delicious. Tried all 3 fisherman's suggestions and all were lip smacking good. We were a group of 7 and we're seated right away , greeted by one of the 5 brothers (owners/fisherman) Gabrielle, such a kind hospitable man. You can tell how much he cares for his establishment and his customers. He really made us feel welcome and part of his family. Everything from the food, drinks, desserts and service was 10/10. We would definitely be back

Yelp
AMAZZZZING! 1st meal here and it was phenomenal with a great view! Not busy at all at 4pm and staff was great and quick. We ordered the caprese salad, prawns and gnocchi all which was fantastic! The gnocchi sauce was very creamy and the gnocchi itself was cooked perfectly! The prawns tasted very fresh and was grilled very well. Def recommend!

Yelp
Highly recommended. Amazing seafood pasta dish, however if risotto is more your speed, that was delicious as well.

Yelp
My wife and I were on a 10 day trip to Italy and we arrived to Sorrento at the perfect lunch time. This place is at the bottom of a cliff, right on the water. Beautiful view! I ordered a Peroni, a whole Sea Bream and my wife got the cuttlefish salad. The cuttlefish was very bland (Reminded me of a raw calamari salad) but the whole fish grill of the Sea Bream was so good. The meat pulls right off and goes great with a nice light beer. The staff is all family I think and they were all super cool. Sit back, enjoy your food and soak in life. It's all good!

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we went to after arriving in Sorrento and it was such a great opener! Service was top notch and our server was so friendly. I ordered the lobster linguine and was blown away by how fresh everything was. The linguine was simple yet so flavorful!

Yelp
The absolute BEST pasta and food in Sorrento. Service was wonderful. View was breathtaking. Go here! You will not regret.

Yelp
Great seafood, great service, good choices for wine... Really a great spot altogether. Just want to note that the address may have changed - don't look at the map on Yelp, it took me to the incorrect place. But it is not too far off. The location on the map (Sep 2022) displays the restaurant on the waterfront north of Da Emilia, however it is immediately west of it. Still water front, but not as great of a location. So come here for the food and not the views.

Yelp
The best seafood I have had in my life, and this is not an exaggeration! You can't get any fresher seafood than this.

Linnea M.

Yelp
Freshest of fish! I had the spaghetti with clams, my son had spaghetti with 1/2 lobster and my husband had the swordfish. All were super fresh and delicious. My husband is still raving about the swordfish! Such an unpretentious restaurant right on the water at Marina Grande....just wonderful.

Yelp
After 10 days in Italy this was the best meal we had. Octopus was amazing. Mussels, fried anchiovies, whole fish, lobster pasta, gnocchi, all AMAZING!!
google avatar

Erez Z.

Yelp
First class seafood on an open pier for dinner. The water and you enjoying fresh seafood for your pleasure. A perfect sunset with any meal is something special. The food here is simple and perfect. Food and menu is fresh daily. Half the printed menu was not available because they didn't catch it that day. Ocean to table. Tuna was huge and amazing. All the dishes were as if you were in a 5 star restaurant. A must if you like a rustic style place.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant, located on the water, great view in the sorrento harbor, we took a table outside. 4th generation owners, really great food, catch of the day, seabass, was awesome, freshest fish, family owns 6 boats, simple preparation which allowed the natural flavors to stand out. 5 bottles of wine, 3 white, 2 red, 7 adults, only $567 including $100 cash tip. Lemoncello on the house!! Total gem!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a great dinner at a restaurant ran by three people. Father, Mother, and daughter. This food was delicious and the ambiance of this place is unbelievable. We had their house wine, gnocchi with shrimp, and grilled calamari and their was absolutely no complaints. If you are curious about the service... it is the best service you will find in Italy. If you are in Sorento, you need to got here.
google avatar

Yelp
Really fantastic place! The food is delicious, the owner is friendly and speaks excellent English, and the location is amazing. Everything coming out looked great, and the seafood pasta I had was incredible. Starter was also good, and very creative with an interesting mix of flavors and textures. It seemed like it was cash only, so come prepared.
google avatar

Justin R.

Yelp
Simple and fresh. House made pasta noodles and fish caught that morning. Probably one of the best meals I've had.
google avatar

Yelp
The best restaurant you could ever eat at!!!! They are the cutest sisters! There dad passed away from covid and took over the family business.
google avatar

Rosi B.

Yelp
What a find! This a a quaint little restaurant right tunear the marina. Don't be mistaken with the other one near the main drag. Continue walking until you reach this location right near the water. The menu is simple, yet delicious! We started with the grilled octopus, which was very good. For our main entree, we had the catch of the day and the linguine lobster. Both were flavorful and fresh! Service was great and the view of the sea is perfect!
google avatar

Nicholas T.

Yelp
Quaint little family run trattoria by the ocean. They serve freshly caught seafood and match it with deliciously cooked pasta. We came here for three meals during our short stay because it's the best place by far. The seafood spaghetti is a must try. The lobster linguine is pretty delicious too. Their home made limoncello infused sponge cakes is quite strong. So only try it after a full stomach of food.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This was my first time in Sorrento and I literally would fly back here just for the food. Both my daughter and I got the seafood pasta. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. The pasta had to be homemade, it was the best I EVER tasted. My husband got the lobster pasta and he loved his sauce but not his pasta which I thought was crazy. The service was superb despite how busy they were. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant

Corinne G.

Yelp
Everything you could ask for in a seaside restaurant, run by 4 generations of family and fishermen. Food was excellent, go for the mixed seafood which will include the day's fresh catches. Simple and superb.
google avatar

Melanie M.

Yelp
Had dinner here tonight. I cannot day enough about the freshness of the dishes we tried. I had the seafood spaghetti. The shrimps and clams were just so delicious. Husband had the grilled seafood platter it was also plentiful, fresh and delicious. Staff was great, friendly and no rush at all. One of the best meals in Sorrento.

Michael B.

Yelp
Great spot at the end of the marina... walked straight here randomly after getting into town for lunch. Beautiful views on both sides of the sea and port, great food, and extremely friendly staff. Our kids went for a swim at the end of the restaurant where they rent sun beds and umbrellas while we finished our meal. Best part is the bar, furniture, metal trim, and glass all with a very cool mid-century vibe.
google avatar

Yumi Peterr P.

Yelp
Had a delicious week night dinner here. It was my first dinner in Sorrento and I came based on reviews from yelp and trip advisor. The portions are really big. Between me and my bf, one pasta and one app was enough to keep us full (along with 2 beers) we ordered seafood spaghetti which was loaded with seafood and the calamari. Seafood was fresh and flavours were not overpowering. Calamari didn't have any heavy batter and didn't taste rubbery. The grilled octopus looked amazing as well, regret not getting that. The service was quick and efficient.

Beth M.

Yelp
We stopped here for our last lunch in Sorrento Saturday September 28th. It was our favorite meal in our 10 day Italy trip. We started wit the Caprese Salad which was standard and what you would expect it to be like. Then I got the fresh Tuna steak which they ask how you want it prepared I got pink middle it was SO GOOD. perfectly prepared. My fiance got the pasta in red sauce with a lobster claw which was equally as perfect in every way. If you are in sorrento and craving seafood that will blow your mind. THIS IS WHERE TO GET IT! Its family owned and run the woman who sat us down and waited on us was telling us how her dad and brother go out every morning and catch the fish they use for the day!

Lora P.

Yelp
Fantastic food! The grilled octopus was charred perfectly, and the linguine with lobster was so sweet and fresh. Excellent service, and the woman working the people walking up who were looking for a table was totally on it and giving away free drinks for people waiting. The waiter even sang for us! Total Italian experience right on the water with a beautiful view!
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
Great view, great seafood, great price, great everything. Enjoyed a wonderful lunch by the water with fresh seafood pasta, fried anchovies, and grilled shrimp. The price was super reasonable for the experience we had. Three dishes plus a glass of wine for 40 euro. A good deal if you ask me. Between two of us we were so full we could only eat gelato for dinner.
