Very beautiful old fort city. So peaceful to enjoy the walk around the fort city. Very good variety of shops for clothes, bags, shoes, souvenirs and many more. There were some very good restaurants around it. Felt safe to walk alone and people were very friendly. Must buy the Genepy herbal liqueur or have a taste. It is very nice. There are many accommodations around the area.

A very well preserved monumental eastern gate of Augusta Praetoria Roman city dating back to 1st cent BC. It has 3 arches - the big central for carriages and horses, and two smaller aside for pedestrians. It's built of huge stone blocks and formed part of city walls with the watchtower. Today, it's an unmissable site marking the entrance/exit to old town

I was there on boxing day. The shopping streets and restaurants were busy with local visitors. Impressive roman ruins from 2000 years ago. All these with the snowcapped mountains as backdrops.

This Roman gateway dates back incredibly to 25 BC. There are two arches and also fortified towers. Today it still functions as a walkway along the main drag of the town, and has a tourist information office and a restaurant inside.

Impressive Roman gates. Pedestrianised streets. Plenty of cafes and ice cream shops to choose from. Lovely gift shops also. Great scenic views.

Seeing my anything 2,000 plus years old is always a marvel. Wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to visit it, but if your in town it’s worth 5 minutes

Beautiful architecture and well maintained building, on the day of my visit there were no lines.
