I was there on boxing day. The shopping streets and restaurants were busy with local visitors. Impressive roman ruins from 2000 years ago. All these with the snowcapped mountains as backdrops.

A wonderful Roman structure that is at the heart of modern Aosta.

Seeing my anything 2,000 plus years old is always a marvel. Wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to visit it, but if your in town it’s worth 5 minutes

This Roman gateway dates back incredibly to 25 BC. There are two arches and also fortified towers.
Today it still functions as a walkway along the main drag of the town, and has a tourist information office and a restaurant inside.
