Make a reservation because unless your luck is great, there is a line - and for a darn good reason! The food is fantastic and the staff are amazing. We've been once and I can promise you we're going again!

We ordered take out for New Year's Eve. We had the Lasagna, Gnocchi pasta with meat sauce, a small ceaser salad, the tortinilli e brodo, and two desserts. It was delicious and we will definitely be back. If you want excellent Italian food, Porto A Casa is the place to go.

Wow wow wow! What a delicious experience!! Service was incredible and the food was to die for!!! Every meal brought to the table was delicious and the pasta was cooked perfectly ! The portion sizes are huge and the prices extremely fair for the quality and portions. I cannot wait to go back and try everything on the menu. Make sure to make reservations as the place is super tiny.

The food and service was great. We like everything we ordered. The restaurant was cozy. My partner and I had a good time and would recommend the place.

Very nice servers. The appetizers and entrees for me, have been hit or miss. Not sure if they have different chefs or if they just changed the recipes. We have tried: the linguini pescatori (both tomato and Alfredo versions). The Cream version is the better of the two in my opinion. That being said the last time we ordered it, the sauce was quite runny And not as creamy as the first time. Again, one of those hit and miss things- Perhaps they used a little bit less cream this time around in the sauce. I have tried the crustini al Salmone - it wasn’t for me, bit too fishy , but someone else might love it. Also ordered the pasta arrabiata, the hot pepper and salty taste was a bit too overpowering for me. I also tried the Kaitlyn’s rosatella mussels. The mussels were so tiny I just gave up even trying to take out of the shell. For dessert, I Have tried The caramel cheesecake and it was delicious! I also tried the tiramisu on a friend’s recommendation. Perhaps I got it on an off day, but the dessert just didn’t taste very fresh And I was disappointed with the small amount of marscapone in it. I liked the cute little homemade ciabatta buns that they give you with the meal. I will Give them another shot as my boyfriend really likes that place. Of note, they do takeout and their portions are quite generous. If you can’t get a seat for the day that you like, Try calling around 3:30 PM for their takeout. I noticed that the prices have been raised since the last time I came. Inflation, I guess. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a visit but just know That you won’t likely get a table unless you reserve it days in advance.

After hearing so many great things about this place, I finally made plans to go. Now I get it! Food was incredible and service top notch. I'm an attention-to-detail kind of person so when I get that in return I really appreciate it. I only ate half of my entree as I absolutely needed to save room for the tiramisu (which I'm glad I did!). I told the server the leftovers were "tomorrow's lunch" which upon delivering the takeout container to my spot, was labeled as such. So sweet! Already can't wait to go back!

The food here is top notch and gives any restaurant on Preston St a run for their money. Very small restaurant so reservations are a must to avoid disappointment, they also have a brisk takeout clientele. Has entered my "top 5" fav restaurants in ottawa!

Honestly very disappointing, everyone recommended this place & I don’t see what the hype is about. The service itself was fine, but the food was the real letdown. The pasta tasted like it came straight from a freezer bag—definitely not fresh, definitely not authentic. For the rating, you’d expect homemade quality, but instead it was bland, rubbery, and completely underwhelming. Nothing on the plate felt vibrant or freshly made. Overall, it was something I could’ve made at home, lacking authenticity, and absolutely not worth the reputation people give it.
