Porto Restaurant

Monday night was a fairly quiet st Porto. The service was good and the food was good too. The Korean meatballs were questionable of their authenticity. The cod was good and so was the risotto

I took my girlfriend for a valentines meal to Porto and we were satisfied but not overwhelmed. The scallop and beef starters were really nice. The main meal of pork fillet was really nice (but the meat lacked any seasoning) and the black-pudding potato was just fantastic. My girlfriend’s Rib Eye steak was raw, and she ordered ‘medium’. But overall she did mention that the taste of the meal was okay just not made to her liking. The chocolate cheesecake was a disappointment, very costly I must say for the portion size. The cheesecake was more of a raspberry cheesecake (far too much raspberry jelly) which unfortunately overpowered any of the chocolate. The lemon creme brûlée was nicely made with a crisp sugary coating.

An absolutely amazing experience - everything we ordered was delicious, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I celebrated my birthday there and they made me feel very special. I would definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again.

Best meal I have had in the Lake District. Delicious food, lovely wine and great service. Comfy chairs and nice music also added to the overall experience. Fine dining without breaking the bank. This will definitely be our new favourite place to eat when we visit.

This place is unreal! I had the beef profiterole and pork fillet which was out of this world for taste. The rest of the menu looked so good as well so we will definitely come back to try the rest of the dishes! Good location as well right in the heart of Bowness on Windermere

A family run restaurant serving fine modern British food. Service was excellent and we were greeted with happy smiling faces. The specials of the day were very good. The pigeon breast was nice and tender. The lamb shank very good. The beef medallions was nicely cooked.

Both food and service were good, generally it was a fulfilling experience that day. The place had lot of people that day, everyone is chilling and chatting, we felt very relaxed. We had two dishes and two drinks and the total expense was about £70. We had two people,so I would say average consume for one person is about £30

A great find and would go again without hesitation. Service was pleasant and efficient and the food and presentation was very good and quite creative. Downside (being picky but I think is important to say), the wine list by the glass was limited, as was the cocktail menu. The menu was also limited for lunch and many items were duplicated, (especially the starters), for the dinner menu. However... you should not hesitate to try this place. As some would say, "what they do, they know what they do and do very well" and prices were also reasonable, especially when considering the quality and the location! Make a reservation if in high season.

My companion and I enjoyed the food and wine at Porto. I would return and recommend Porto to anyone who appreciates flavorful food.

This review is for Porto in Bowness on Windermere. Somehow the picture above looks to be of a different restaurant. We found Porto on a day trip up to Windermere. What a nice little spot, located on a side street in Bowness. I had the cheese souflee app and the poached haddock entree. Both were very tasty. Lovely, would recommend.

We came to this restaurant twice in our stay here in Bowness. We just love the flavors, taste treat delights! Mushroom bruschetta, scallops, lamb chump, duck breast, all were wonderful. You will not be disappointed. Great wine list at very reasonable prices! Delish!

We were looking for Italian but found this to be open and interesting. Appears to be Spanish cuisine. Very tasty. Nice decor. Service was a little slow but I think they were understaffed that day.

We strolled into Postilion without a reservation; luckily we got a table. I am not a fan of French Cuisine so I was delighted when we had such a delicious meal! When you walk in you can catch a glimpse of the chef working - cooking up imaginitive and tempting combinations...even for a traditionalist like me. Thanks for making our honeymoon that much more special with delightful food and a cozy atmostphere!

We discovered this gem on our first night in Windermere. The atmosphere was amazing and as we went early it wasn't that busy. The emphasis was on tapas and spanish food and it was gorgeous. Would definitely reccommend
