Porto River Aparthotel

A very clean newly renovated hotels situated among all the restaurants overlooking the river. Can see both Sunrise and sunset. Bedroom is in the back of the building so it’s not noisy at all. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony enjoying coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon/ evening. Bathroom design simple clean. Large ceramic tiles is what’s popular these days. That’s how I want my bathroom to be

Beautiful hotel nestled in downtown Porto. Convenient to walking the city. The room was nicely appointed and very neat and clean. The staff from front desk to restaurant and housekeeping were top notch and EXTREMELY nice! They were eager to help us with any requests and very knowledgeable of the area! Would highly recommend a stay here! Will come back again.

This was a perfect hotel for our family. We had the 2 bed, 2 bath suite with the riverview in the annex. The staff was simply amazing, helping us with every question. For those with some mobility issues, there's a lift from the entry level to our room (still a couple of steps though) which opened onto a level easily accessible to the Dom Luis bridge. This location is in the heart of everything fun, a quick walk to Gaia, and just has the most spectacular views. The front desk and restaurant staff were just incredible, even packing us a breakfast to eat when our tour of the Duoro Valley left before the kitchen opened, which we kept in the room refrigerator until morning. Close to many restaurants, over 3 days we ate 2 breakfasts at the hotel and one dinner and were delighted with the freshness of everything. The rooms were very comfortable and we had absolutely everything we needed. Lots of room for the three of us to relax and be comfortable, but you could fit a bigger family. I would stay here again! We stayed for two nights and from the moment we entered to the time we left it was a five star experience. Ariana at the front desk was amazing! So gracious and always ready to answer our questions and give recommendations for dining and exploring town. The hotel is an 18th century building that was renovated 7 or 8? years ago and it’s so beautiful. Kudos to the architect/design team. The hotel is spotless and beautifully maintained. Our rooms faced the busy street but were so quiet. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of options. I am in the hospitality business and this was our favorite hotel during our 10 day Portugal trip. The hotel staff were very nice. The accommodations were perfect for our family of 5. What I most want to share is that I didn’t fully appreciate upon booking just how central this location is. It was amazing!!! It’s extremely central so perfect if that’s what you’re looking for and also very scenic because of that. We had perfect views and complimentary breakfast overlooking the river every day. If you’re sensitive to being around many tourists, you might not like it as much as we did because when you walk out it’s crowded. However you likely won’t like Porto overall since the entire city had many tourists. That said, this was a perfect jumping off point for our daily adventures, from a scenic boat tour to walking across the river for some port tastings, this is a gem of a place .

As a busy mother of three busy adult children our family trips are sacred. I look for BUDGET friendly luxury boutique hotel experiences that can accommodate our large group. Porto River gives you modern luxury with historic Porto only steps below you. We loved opening the windows and french doors to let Porto and the river in! The views and the breakfast really make the experience. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I love staying before and after the kids leave to soak in some romantic days alone at the Porto River.

If you want to feel the city of Porto stay here. It is the perfect blend of historical Porto with modern touches to the rooms and amenities. Because of the smart adaptions to the historical building the views at the hotel are absolutely unbeatable. We love to stay here as a family (3 times so far) because we are able to meet everyday for breakfast and happy hour on the terrace bar which offers comfortable and unbeatable views of the famous bridge, the Duoro river and the promenade down below. You are really in the middle of the life of the city. The staff and amenities make it very easy to stay here as a family or big group but if you are traveling as a pair or looking for romance this hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway.

The staff was truly top notch here. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Free small bottle of wine plus a voucher for a complimentary glass of Port and cod cakes at their bar or sister hotel bar. Fresh water in our room daily along with small cookies. Very clean room and comfortable beds.||Downside- our shower had standing water. This was not due to a drain issue. It had something to do with the shower being too flat or not slightly angled because we could not get all the water out of the shower no matter how we tried.
