We escaped another hotel to find this one. Chalk and cheese. The room was luxurious with everything we could need. Bar and food on shore was good, and the staff were beautiful and friendly. And right in the middle of the waterfront scene. Have recommended this place to family travelling. 10/10 would stay again.

Absolutely stunning and cozy this hotel is truly a gem in the heart of Porto. It’s the perfect place for both couples and families, offering warmth, comfort, and breathtaking views. Every detail is thoughtfully designed, and the kindness of the staff makes the experience unforgettable.||Waking up to the most stunning view of the iconic bridge and river was magical. Enjoying breakfast with that view of the river was such a peaceful start to each day, and the restaurant downstairs offers delicious food in an equally beautiful setting. The chorizo, steak and seafood is fantastic!! ||The highlight of our stay was meeting the owners they are genuinely the sweetest, most attentive, and loving people we’ve ever met. They made us feel so welcomed and cared for. It truly felt like coming home.||Positive highlights: |-safety! You have a safe environment and double security of key going to the room. |-Comfort and modern rooms! Beautiful bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen. |-central location! Perfect access to river and shops!|||We’ll be coming back every year —no question about it. This place has our hearts!

As a busy mother of three busy adult children our family trips are sacred. I look for BUDGET friendly luxury boutique hotel experiences that can accommodate our large group. Porto River gives you modern luxury with historic Porto only steps below you. We loved opening the windows and french doors to let Porto and the river in! The views and the breakfast really make the experience. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I love staying before and after the kids leave to soak in some romantic days alone at the Porto River.

If you want to feel the city of Porto stay here. It is the perfect blend of historical Porto with modern touches to the rooms and amenities. Because of the smart adaptions to the historical building the views at the hotel are absolutely unbeatable. We love to stay here as a family (3 times so far) because we are able to meet everyday for breakfast and happy hour on the terrace bar which offers comfortable and unbeatable views of the famous bridge, the Duoro river and the promenade down below. You are really in the middle of the life of the city. The staff and amenities make it very easy to stay here as a family or big group but if you are traveling as a pair or looking for romance this hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway.

Went here with 27 family members on a Trip through Portugal. We stayed here for 3 nights in July. The rooms were nice and cool and very clean. They also seemed a bit larger compared to some of the other rooms we stayed in throughout our trip. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was also good, providing something for everyone. The location of the hotel is superb. I loved people watching out my windows or from my balcony and it is so close to many attractions and restaurants. It is a lively, lovely setting - but nothing that interfered with our sleep.

The location was a bit tricky to find, as the entrance is tucked behind the outdoor tables of a nearby restaurant. However, I enjoyed my stay—it’s in a very convenient spot for sightseeing and evening strolls along the river. The hospitality from the staff throughout my visit, up until check-out, was much appreciated. Unfortunately, my check-out experience was disappointing. I was asked whether I had taken anything from the minibar and was told to wait while housekeeping inspected it. Despite assuring them that I hadn’t taken anything, I was questioned about missing bottles of water. It felt unreasonable to be confronted about items I had never seen, especially when they were going to verify it themselves. I suggested they check the waste bin and I would pay if any empty bottles were found. I am 100% sure they can’t find a bottle as I didn’t take any item from the minibar. The receptionist just said it is okay to check out without payment, but no apology was made for the mistaken claim. It’s important that minibar inventory is properly checked before assigning rooms to guests to avoid this kind of situation. Despite this incident, others may still find the property suitable. However, I would likely choose a different accommodation if I return to Porto.

Our family of four, including two young adults, had a fantastic stay in a 2 bedroom apartment at Porto River. Even though the apartment faces the busy riverfront, it was quiet at night and we all slept well in the comfortable beds. The apartment is well appointed and spacious, and we enjoyed the convenience of hotel services including a wonderful restaruant and bar. The property is ideally located for enjoying the riverfront as well as walking and biking around Porto and Gaia or accessing the tram or other transportation in Porto. Lastly, we cannot say enough about the concierge team and the kindness, great communication and assistance they offer. In particular, they arranged our transfer from the airport and managed updates when our flight arrival was delayed, and also helped us organize a pickup for a tour at our location when I had mistakenly booked a different location over an hour away. We would definitely return to Porto River Aparthotel - loved everything about it.

Super comfy linens, bed, room, all spaces. Espresso machine was tricky for an American but I managed day 2. Such responsive management staff. They helped arrange airport pickup and hotel transfer seamlessly. Amazing location. Highly recommend.
