Porto Timoni is undeniably beautiful, and the view during the hike is absolutely stunning — no doubt about that. However, I feel it’s important to share a more realistic take on the experience.
The hike is officially listed as 25 minutes, but in reality, it took me around 40 minutes — and I’m fairly young and fit. The descent is quite tricky, with lots of rocks and uneven terrain. Even with proper sneakers, I found it slippery and difficult, especially under the intense summer heat. I slipped several times and saw others struggling too. To make matters worse, the path was crowded, which made it even more challenging to navigate.
Yes, the views on the way down are breathtaking, but honestly, in the middle of July, I would recommend taking a boat to reach the beach instead of hiking down — it’s just too exhausting and not really worth the struggle if you’re not well-prepared.
Once at the bottom, the beach was packed. It was so crowded that people had trouble even getting into the water. And strangely enough, despite the heat, the sea was freezing. There were also lots of rocks, which made it uncomfortable to walk and hard to swim — I could barely enjoy the water because of how cold and stony it was.
That being said, the natural beauty of the spot is undeniable. If you go, I recommend avoiding peak hours, wearing proper shoes, bringing lots of water, or even better — arriving by boat and skipping the hike altogether.
