Stayed here in December with my wife and a review is long overdue. PortoBay Flores in winter is sweetly priced, the rare place that makes you feel like you struck a bargain in hotels these days. Rooms are chic, service strong, the hotel itself quaint and oh so pretty, and the location is to die for - I expected Porto to be pretty some, but I did not expect a place so picture-perfect it immediately felt like we had landed in possibly the prettiest town its size on the planet. The hotel complements the setting, which is really all it needs to do.
Do yourself the favor and visit in off-season, and go for a walk at 6am to experience Porto at its most magical, then settle down in the stylish breakfast restaurant with some nata and a cup of tea - and try to find something that's not to love about the experience.
Also: Easily in the top 3 European hotels I've stayed at.
