Portofino Beach Resort

My husband and I had the most incredible stay here! We were celebrating our anniversary which we noted on the reservation and they surprised us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate us in our room! They also gave us a delicious welcome drink which was all such a nice way to start our week. The resort is beautifully maintained, incredibly clean, has delicious food, and the service is top notch. Everyone was incredibly nice and on it with whatever we needed. Also, wanted to add a huge shoutout to the excursions company (snorkeling, fishing trips, etc.), Carpe Diem, who you can book tours with at the resort. They are incredible guides! Highly recommend booking tours with them for a memorable experience.

We spent the week before Christmas at Portofino Beach Resort and we loved it. We were very impressed by everything. We stayed in one of the beach cabanas, and it was spacious and so comfortable with excellent bedding and great air conditioning in the warm humid weather. Our son loved the swimming pools, and we all enjoyed going snorkeling and kayaking right from the resort. We ate all of our meals at the restaurant and were so impressed - the menus were diverse with lots of great offerings and consistently excellent food. We also very much appreciated all of the staff. Every single person working at Portofino was incredibly warm, kind, friendly, and went out of their way to make us all feel welcome. Thank you so much for a fantastic stay!

Our stays at Portofino have been truly unforgettable. We initially visited in 2019 for a wedding scouting trip and were so impressed that we decided to have our guests stay there for our wedding in 2022, as well as host our rehearsal dinner. The rustic charm of the hotel significantly enhanced the experience, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complemented our celebration. The service was unmatched, with the friendliest and most attentive staff we've ever encountered. The food was fresh, creative, and truly inspired. Our rehearsal dinner went off without a hitch, and everyone couldn't stop talking about how wonderful it was. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we can't wait to return to Portofino. If you're looking for a place that combines exceptional service, amazing food, and a beautiful setting, this is the place to be!

We arrived at Portofino just before a tropical storm. They picked us up in the pouring rain and made the ride to the resort fun. Furthermore my bag didn’t make it on tropic air so they had someone get it for me and deliver it to the room. The ride from town is about 30-40 minutes. The road is paved about 50% of the way and the rest is a dirt road. For us this added to the appeal as it felt remote but still accessible. |While the property isn’t a brand new ultra modern hotel, that’s what we loved about it. The rooms have character and are exactly as I would want for a stay at the beach in Belize. The AC was great and kept us cool; bed was comfy. And best of all were the views! |But the only thing better than the views was the people who worked there. Every one from the reservation agent to the security guards were awesome. The night before a tropical storm came I had to go to ER. Portofino got someone on site to get out of bed and drive me and my partner to ER. He waited for us there and got us home safely. Restaurant was delicious. Loved our private dinner by the sea. Thanks to everyone at Portofino. We hope to return.

We didn't stay here but we came for breakfast one morning! Everyone was so nice and our group of 4 loved breakfast! I had the French toast and it was delicious! 💓

This was a great alternative to the "day pass" resorts. We went for lunch and they let us stay for the day and enjoy their beach and pool. It was such a quiet, relaxing resort and a nice break from the craziness of downtown San Pedro. We had delicious Aperol Spritzes and wonderful coconut shrimp and sat and read by the pool and beach for the rest of the day. Highly recommended!

Came here for my birthday and it was an amazing experience! The resort is beautiful and welcoming. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Hotel Portofino is a small, charming hotel on the North side of the island. I travel by myself and spent a couple of very relaxing days at the resort. I never left the hotel as everything I needed was right there: beach, bar, restaurant and even a place where one could just hop on a boat for a snorkeling trip. If you like to venture outside during your stay, you can book a golf cart at the resort.|The staff, especially Marc behind the bar, were very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and the breakfast especially good.|Due to its intimate atmosphere, guest are very friendly and it is easy to strike up a conversation and you get to know a lot about Belize and its people.|I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking a laid-back vacation!
