Portom International Hokkaido (Chitose, Hokkaido Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Yes, Portom International Hokkaido is attached to the international terminal at Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport, but in every other way it’s anything but a typical airport hotel. Its modern-luxe rooms and suites wouldn’t look out of place in a major city center, and there’s an extraordinary amount of authentic Japanese culture on display — every room features its own Hokusai print, and there’s an exhibition space showing arts and crafts from the Edo and Meiji periods. Also on site are a luxury spa and a pair of restaurants, one traditionally Japanese and one a modern Japanese-French hybrid." - Tablet Hotels

Wonderful hotel perfectly located, updated, and full service! We love our stay at Portom International Hokkaido. After arriving in Sapporo late after 10pm, the only thing we wanted to do was rest. Many businesses have closed but portom allows guests to use their facilities around the clock. Greatly appreciated to revive ourselves with their amazingly clean and brand new onsen. It was beautiful and so well kept, and provides so many amenities guests don’t need to even think of taking anything from their room. A first for us! Highly recommend taking the offer of the breakfast add on. The food is prepared perfectly proportioned for tasting which is important for flying so long, having an appetite is a bit hard. All their food is considerate of that, as I got to enjoy food easy on the stomach for me. While my husband and daughter loved the hearty comfort meals. Food was delicious and well worth the premium price. Service dining, checking in, checking out, and questions throughout our stay has been phenomenal. I highly recommend staying at Portom and will come back in the future.

Stayed there for 3 nights last year spring. A clean and stylish hotel, all the staff were friendly and helpful. They even offered us a little birthday gift (which was some tasty cookies). They also offered reward points to spend in their shop or dine in their restaurants if you choose not to have the daily room cleaning service, which I think was clever and thoughtful to the guests. Will definitely stay there again if chances arise.

I don’t understand why this is categorised only as a 4-star hotel. This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, let alone an airport hotel. Every thing is so artistic, elegant and well designed. Staff were amazing- during check-in we were offered seats and welcome drinks, and they proactively helped us book a nice restaurant in town for dinner and booked a taxi to travel there as well. The staff took us on a quick tour of the facilities before bringing us to our room and explained the features of the room. Staff is everywhere to help guests as needed. The gym equipment looks brand new or maintained really well. Attention to details is incredible- e.g. toilets around the hotel always folded corners. The buffet breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever seen, with lots of weird and wonderful delicate little dishes to choose from. Truly a hidden gem.

The hotel is super convenient, located inside of New Chitose Airport, perfect for an overnight stay if your flight arrives too late at night. The hotel is modern and chic. The room is quite big. Everything is very clean. The staff are super helpful and very friendly. ||I also enjoyed the hotel onsen. It had both hot and cold pools, as well as a dry sauna. Very refreshing!

Best airport hotel I have ever stayed in! When we arrived at the hotel lobby, the staff was attentive and welcoming. They invited us to have a seat at the sofa and brought us welcome drinks. Check-in was speedy. We arrived rather late at night and most of the airport restaurants were closed. The hotel does not offer room service but we managed to grab some snacks at the Cigar Bar. Food portion is small but delicious. Drinks are great. The rooms are spacious and clean. Comfortable beds. Will definitely recommend to friends!

By far the best hotel we have stayed in our first Hokkaido ski trip!We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel, and I can’t compliment it enough! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Andrea Antonio (I hope I spelled the name right!) who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He even helped us arrange a lovely dinner and a traditional tea ceremony, which added such a special touch to our trip. The hotel itself is stunning, especially during the Christmas season! They had an incredible display in the lobby — a real cookie house, which was so impressive. Andrea told us it was built by their in-house pastry chef, and I can’t even begin to describe the level of detail in it. Truly an amazing work of art, and huge credit goes to those talented hands behind it.Our room was fantastic — the highlight being the automatic blinds that you could control just by tapping our room card! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless with a luxurious bathtub. Though we didn’t get to use the tub (since we were enjoying the onsen), it was a nice touch.Speaking of the onsen, it was a real treat! We loved spending time there, though there was a small hiccup when the water ran out after 11pm. It wasn’t a major issue for us, but it would’ve been nice if it had been available for a little longer.Overall, the service was impeccable, the room was fantastic, and the onsen was super relaxing. I would definitely stay here again if we’re ever back in Sapporo!

The location was great as we were able to catch our flight the next morning without much hassle. The hotel standard was superb with everything required in place. The room is modern and spacious. The staffs are very helpful. The rooms are so sound proof you do not hear the planes. The onsen was lovely. The hotel is in very close proximity to the shopping centre at the Chitose airport (7minutes walk)
