Portrush Adelphi (Portrush, County Antrim) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It makes sense that Marine & Lawn, a hospitality group that runs a small but distinguished collection of luxury resorts near some of the UK’s top golf courses, would acquire the historic Adelphi Hotel. A fixture in the seaside town of Portrush since the mid-19th century, it’s just steps from the entrance to the exclusive Royal Portrush Golf Club. There’s still a classic look and a charming old-world air to the landmark hotel — rooms feature crisp tartans, fine wood furnishings, maritime artwork, and a deep green and blue color palette inspired by the ocean — but its refreshed interiors have a modern edge, especially in the Red Sail Room, a stylish bar and restaurant with velvet banquettes, glowing lamps, and abundant greenery. Retro bicycles are available for exploring the hotel’s scenic surroundings." - Tablet Hotels

"Style Coastal clubhouse Setting Fairway to heaven Explore More hotels in Portrush More hotels in United Kingdom Practically a chip shot from its regal namesake links, Portrush Adelphi has golfers grinning before they’ve even unpacked their clubs — but this coastal charmer has more in its bag than birdies and bunkers. Rooms are dressed in deep greens, sea-blues and tartans, the Red Sail Room pairs clubhouse polish with yacht-deck views, and there’s a cheerful town on your doorstep for surf sessions, castle ruins and whiskey drams. Whether you’re teeing off or time-outing, Adelphi always comes in above par. Get this when you book through us: A bottle of champagne" - Mr & Mrs Smith

This hotel is beautifully decorated throughout. The dining room is particularly stunning with a classy 1950's club feel to it. A lovely jazz playlist added to the ambience. The food was fresh and delicious. ||Our bedroom was modern but cosy and the bathroom had a great shower.||We also enjoyed a game of snooker in the hotel .||All the staff were friendly and professional. ||The hotel is situated in the town centre making it not only amenable to the shops and bars but also the beaches which surround Portrush, all of which are within walking distance.

Great customer service from Michelle at the front desk. Frankly, all of the staff were very friendly but Michelle really stood out along with the bar manager (Declan, I believe). The room was clean and comfortable even if a bit on the small side. The breakfast was very good. They had a nice selection on the menu and didn't have a buffet. The location is good - walking distance to Royal Portrush and many bars and restaurants. One of our group even took advantage of surfing lessens at the shop across the street. All told, a comfortable experience

This is meant to be a 5 star hotel. It does not meet the criteria at all. They are selling rooms based on the 5 star rating and charging high prices. The criteria are not met. It is more of a 3 star hotel. Nice staff but thats not enough. The restaurants food was poor and certainly not worth what it cost. The rooms dust in the bathroom and the shelves where the tea making implements were. Dont book here thinking it is 5 star. It most definitely isnt

We stayed here for a weekend in September. Overall it was nice, affordable with comfortable and spacious rooms with nice style. The service was very good. The breakfast was included but it was poor. The quality of the ingredients and portion size weren’t great. The poached eggs were overdone, sourdough toast was burned and avocado was not fresh. It tainted the experience overall. It was a good location and I’d stay again but it didn’t feel like a 5star hotel.

I would throughly recommend the Adelphi. I stayed with 2 friends (3 in total) in the family room which was perfect with lots of space. The customer service was exceptional with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.||The hotel was clean and welcoming, breakfast was delicious. Will be back ! Thank you

Our experience at the Adelphi Portrush was completely unacceptable. We ordered two coffees and waited over 20 minutes—yet they never arrived. The young male bar assistant with dark hair was openly more focused on fixing his hair and drinking coffee himself than serving paying customers. His disregard for guests was blatant and unprofessional. After this disgraceful level of service, we will never return.

The external facade, although nice belies what is behind the entrance door.A fabulous Hotel, stayed overnight in what can only be described as a very elegant room, beautifully decorated and with probably the best hotel bed I've ever slept in. this hotel is classic elegance.|I was met in reception by Daria an extremely helpful and informative young lady who put me at ease straight away. Got to my room and was immediately delighted with the decor ,furniture and surroundings.I dined in the Red Sail room where I was warmly greeted by Declan and shown to my table, the food was fantastic, compliments to the chef,my waitress for the evening was Beckie ,very polite and attentive as was Amy at breakfast ,again another fab meal.My only problem was having to leave such a great hotel that I highly recommend and will be back to...

We stayed in this hotel early July and I have to say staff we're wonderful and very helpful the decor is beautiful and as for the room we had a front room with a bit of a sea view absolutely gorgeous. The quality of the bed linen, pillows and duvet was one of the most luxurious I've ever had. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Thought I would update my review, went into the Adelphi hotel today for a bite to eat, I got chicken goujons and chips with garlic dip. The waiters are attentive and friendly. The dining room is cosy and modern with a flat screen tv displaying a constant video of a fish tank which is quite relaxing. My meal came the chips were better than last time the chicken goujons were ok but I wasn't keen on them, the garlic dip was nice but the crunchy pieces of garlic were a bit much, the side salad was nice but they didn't put any dressing at all on it so it was a bit bland. Nice hotel , nice decor, prices are reasonable. Steps entrance to front or ramp entrance to the side. The food has improved a bit from last time but I wouldn't be in a rush to get something to eat in the Adelphi, good place for a quick drink though, bottles of wine from £9. Parking on street. Free WiFi in hotel.

Yelp
My fiancé and I found this gem as we were heading up to Dunluce Castle to elope and could not have had a better experience! I wrote in our reservation notes the night before asking if we could check in a little early to get ready for our wedding and within an hour of submitting, their staff called and told us they would be more than willing to help out! We arrived to this adorable nestled hotel and checked in with ease. The moment we got to our room, I honestly shed tears of joy. Not only was the view of the coast breathtaking, but the incredible staff here had complimentary champagne waiting for us! We had an amazing wedding day and headed back to the Adelphi to inquire about fun spots to visit in town. They directed us to the Springhill pub down the street where we were greeted by an amazing group of soon to be new friends and had pint after pint in celebration. The next morning we headed down to breakfast and were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the staff was to our dietary needs! This was the first place on our entire trip that was able to give us the full Irish breakfast catered to our vegan diets. They even went so far as to put together a breakfast in bed tray for us to take up and snack on while we packed up. I cannot rave enough about this perfect hotel and hope anyone that reads this review heads up to Portrush to check it out. We will definitely be coming back every year to celebrate and will be sure to stay at the Adelphi! Thank you all again for your amazing hospitality!!

Yelp
The meal I had was enjoyable and considerably cheaper than 55degrees where I had intended eating and waiting in a que out the door is something I couldn't do, the Adelphi has good food for the money as the roast of the day was only £6.50 and I couldn't fault it, service was good and natural, there wasn't any over the top falseness. For a may day it was surprising how empty the restaurant was . The lounge area is big and ideal for a pre or post meal drink, or both if your in the mood. A stay at the Adelphi is definitely something id consider in the future too.

Yelp
This hotel is situated downtown within a walk of the strand and numerous restaurants. It's floor layout is somewhat confusing but once you find your room and it's location to the nearest stairway or elevator, it shouldn't be a problem getting in and out. The room was spacious and clean. Not a spectacular view from the windows but we were on the move all the time during the day anyway. The lobby area and bar were up front and the windows had views of the street so we were able to sit there with a glass of irish whiskey and watch the crowds walk by. The breakfast was a cold buffet set up with hot meals to order. Everything was cooked correctly. Would I use the same hotel again when back in Portrush. Yes.

Yelp
This review is of this hotel's excellent RESTAURANT (they really need a separate restaurant review page): We had a lovely dinner at the Adelphi Bistro. It is situated in the hotel of the same name, and I'm not often drawn to hotel restaurants. But this one was superb. The service was friendly and helpful. For a starter, we had the bruschetta -- flavorful tomato, garlic, balsamic, and feta cheese. We both had steaks, mine with an amazing peppercorn sauce (at the recommendation of one of he staff). And then, looking through the photos on here, we decided on the homemade apple pie. The crust was like shortbread, and the filling buttery, too. OK! So we may not have made the healthiest of choices, but our dinner sure was good. Note that they have a two-course, and three-course special menu each evening, at a great price. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Starting with the good. The rooms are pretty, food is nice and so is the bar. However, the levers used to seal the windows on each room won't budge, letting bugs and spiders crawl in as they please as I type this. Not only does the window issue make the bugs an issue, it also lets all the street noise (cars, shouting people, etc.) leak in as if the window were open. On top of all that, the Internet did not work while I was staying here, and the spa area closed at 8pm on a Friday. Bring some earplugs and bug spray and you'll love this place.
