It was Easter, and the hostel, which can accomodate 29 people I think, had only one other person staying, so very quiet. A member of staff told us about a walk, just across the road opposite the hostel's front door. You go up a path and in not too far on you see signs that point the way for a 3 km or 1.5 km walk. we did the 1.5 km, it was very beautiful being in the trees. We passed many people jogging,, dog walking, nordic walking, so quite well used by locals. It was really great to get into such beautiful nature just across the road! We had a room with 2 single beds. I had emailed in advance to request the reservation, we paid on arrival. It was great having our own fridge, and we enjoyed watching some every day tv in Finnish, or with Finnish subtitles. The hostel provides free Porvoo Tourist Information brochures. The swimming pool just across the road has a breakfast buffet we heard, for 5 euros, so that is a good option if you have not brought food with you. I can see that Porvoo really is at it's busiest in the summer months, e.g. the bike hire shop opens in May, some attractons are available in June, July August only. I would definitly stay here again- for 2 people in a double room we paid 27 euros per night per person.

Situated walking distance from Porvoo old town. Excellent, friendly welcome. Very warm and clean. Spacious. Attractive old building. Free parking. Much better than hotel. Meet interesting people. Clean kitchen to cook meal, etc. Short walk to old town and cathedral (see photos)

The hostel is an idyllic, old wooden house in Porvoo. It takes you ca. 15 minutes to walk to the hostel from the bus station. The hostel is situated near the public indoor swimming pool. The rooms are very plain and reduced but tidy. No sheets in the beds, you need to bring our own or use a sleeping bag. There are pillows and blankets. There is a TV in every room. WC and separate showers for women and men are along the corridor. You can cook in the joint kitchen. There is an electric stove & oven and a microwave oven and a refrigerator. Cooking ware and plates and cutlery are available. Not open in wintertime but here's still one picture from winter.

We were brought to Porvoo by a wonderful musical event. The Avanti Festival itself is an extraordinary phenomenon in the musical life of Europe, and the combination of an ancient, charming city, the purest nature, white nights, friendly and very attentive people, makes our stay unforgettable. |The hostel was not a hostel, it was our home for the time of our trip. The house is very spacious, it has a lot of air and light. The rooms are high and bright. The facilities are clean and conveniently located. I would like to express gratitude to the owners of the hostel for their attentive, responsiveness and delicacy.

We booked a twin room which was a good size for the two of us, with 2 single beds ( I don’t think double beds are an option here?). The host was friendly, the place was clean and quiet. The shared bathroom was small but clean and the kitchen likewise. We didn’t self cater at the hostel but if we had tried I think the facilities were fairly limited. The location is fine, definitely walking distance to the old town etc- and the area of Porvoo immediately near the hostel also has some lovely old wooden buildings to admire. For breakfast the host suggested going across the road to the swimming pool where there is a buffet breakfast each morning- however the offerings there were pretty basic.

Distance: Approximately a 1.5-kilometer walk to the old town of Porvoo, grocery stores, restaurants, and the ski area.||||Host: A lovely lady with whom we had many great conversations about movies and accommodated the timings of check-in based on our convenience.||||Rooms: The four-shared spacious dormitory had wardrobes, a refrigerator, a television, and a dining table for four.||||Amenities: Shared washrooms for guests, a kitchen with cutlery, microwave, oven, and gas. There was also a sit-out area in the front yard of the property.

Small hostel with 12 or so rooms in a quite central location in Porvoo. The bathroom is shared (single one), separate for men and women as well as toilet (separate for men and women). The rooms were clean with clean linens and towels. We had a fridge in our room. Full of light, on a top of a hill. You have to get out by 10 AM (the reception is open until 10 AM and again in the evening).

Accommodation in a beautiful old building a short 1km walk from the Old Town - very spacious bedrooms and bery clean kitchen and bathrooms. Only bad thing was lack of privacy in women’s shared shower facility - only a glass screen in between showers and shower curtain does not enclose the shower. Make sure you do not arrive between 10-4 as the hostel is not staffed and locked between these times.
