Check in was very good. My room was towards the back of the property and very quiet, despite its central location. The gardens and outside part of the cafe are attractive. My room was comfortable; however, there was no hot water and the room rate seemed somewhat overpriced. One ongoing issue was frustration with the wifi: the hotel has a number of different signals each with slightly different passwords, and you may not be given access to the best signal. Provided one could access the best signal, the strength was generally very good but did drop out occasionally. I chose to eat here for dinner on my first night, and my rate included two supposedly complementary breakfasts. However, I had a number of issues about service and standards in the restaurant. These concerns were significant enough that I would have foregone breakfast on the second day had I been aware of a decent alternative venue near the hotel. Service for my second breakfast was so awful that I actually felt uncomfortable; it also seemed like my breakfast had been literally thrown onto the plate.

The hotel is very nice and breakfast was included. We had a triple room so it was fairly cheap. Good position, close to the Park Centrale. However, the service was not great. Could not be bothered to help arrange trip to local attraction, breakfast took an hour to come and some of the staff were slow to help, but fast to get the money of you. When we were leaving one of the staff was helpful and that is why I marked it VG.

If you are looking for a rustic, clean and friendly hotel in Cobán, then this is your place. The rooms are spacious and clean with a nice interior. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The hotel offers roofed parking in the back yard. There is also a garden for sitting outside. It is located very centrally at 3 minutes from the city centre (park, cathedral, restaurants, bars) and at 3 minutes from the market. Nevertheless it is a quiet and peaceful place and you will rest comfortably at night without being bothered by traffic or noise.

I like the first impression this hotel offers. It is nicely designed and decorated, the rooms are large, and the is lots of hot water. The hot water is a bonus in a country of Luke warm showers. Be sure to ask for a room that is off the street. Most of the rooms are over a busy street, mine included. I will let you know how I sleep. The back rooms have to be better.

While the property looks great, the service was not great. We all paid the same price for each of 3 rooms and one was a tiny closet while another was a suite! The property is extremely noisy. There is a business across the street that begins playing LOUD music at 5:30 AM! The hotel has a showroom/catering room for functions and there is noise from that late into the night if it is being used. We had to eat breakfast outside as the dining room was being used for private functions. The rooms were super hot and uncomfortable. If you opened the windows to get some air, people could look directly into your room. I saw some sights that I did not enjoy seeing due to that! LOL I would look elsewhere...maybe a bit outside of Coban proper?

When we arrived our reservations were all messed up. But the hotel reception staff went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable. We had 4 adults and 6 kids, one with special needs. If and when I return to Coban, I will definitely stay here!!!||||P.s. Wifi only in restaurant and lobby, not in the rooms.

We arrived pretty late at night, but the friendly staff kept the restaurant open for us so we could eat dinner, as we definitely didn't want to venture out to the dark streets to find food. The rooms were not the cleanest, but surprisingly large with 3 single beds each. The mattresses and the linens need updating and the hotel is not the quietest, so if you're looking for some good rest multiple nights in a row, this might not be your best choice. Right outside the window is a main street that stays busy with trucks, buses and rowdy pedestrians all night long (we heard a car alarm go off in the middle of the night, lasting almost 30 minutes, and we also heard shouting and loud music well into the night.). There is no air conditioner and the windows don't have screens, so bugs (mosquitoes & spiders & ants) invite themselves in for the night and also camp out in your bathroom sink... So put on some bug spray before bed, and brush your teeth strategically. Also, if you no hablas Español, then bring someone who does with you, as no one seems to speak English at this hotel or in Cobán in general. Overall, this hotel is what you would expect for the price and the area (it's in a small city a ways away from Guatemala City). The price included breakfast, which was a great deal, and although we didn't get to try it because we were running late for our morning meeting, the staff gave us the amazing local coffee and hot chocolate to go.

We were looking for a quiet place to sleep in Coban, and found this hotel, the price was correct and the room was big...but we didn't realize that it was on a very noisy street! we had wanted to stay 2 nights but as they wouldn't give us a quieter room for the second night we left. Maybe all rooms have the same noise?
