Really a mixed experience. At $265/night (when it was about 90% empty) it was not a bargain. But it is authentic, not at all touristy or resorty, and charming, on the city square, clean, quiet, very Spanish/Mexican in its pretty decor and rooms. Included breakfast was quite nice as was dinner the previous evening. Most staff speak no English. Rooms have no numbers! Heavily timbered beautiful architecture on this historical building. Taxi stand 1/2 block away. Beach 4-5 blocks away.

Prepare for very little sleep. Beautiful old hotel but the nearby bars are very loud and the church bells ring every 15 minutes seemingly all through the night. We were able to purchase earplugs from a pharmacy on the second day but I think this is something that the hotel should provide so you don't miss out completely on sleep on the first night of your vacation. The mattresses were also hard and the bottom sheet kept coming off so I would wake frequently (from the bells/bars) to find myself laying on an old, uncovered mattress. They need to switch to fitted sheets. The fridge had been removed from our room which was inconvenient and the drinking water was never replenished by housekeeping. Overall, the staff were very pleasant and the location was excellent but you definitely feel like you are roughing it. I would come back to the restaurant but I wouldn't want to sleep there again.

We stopped here for sunset drinks, their rooftop is to die for! You wouldn’t know it by looking at it, but there is a public bar upstairs. The service is amazing! We were drawn in mesmerized really by the gorgeous courtyard at the ground level. You look up and you see the bottom of the rooftop pool. You can extend the spiral staircase and sit and have a drink overlooking all of Loretto. Just magical.

Posada de las Flores is truly an old beautiful hotel. Unfortunately that is the only positive of this property. The front desk attendant was rarely at the desk or if there, had friends in to chat. Our free breakfast was chopped cantaloupe and white toast. Finally, we erred and booked a one night stay twice. The person who is in charge (off-site in Cabo) couldn’t be bothered to even reply to our refund request, despite Expedia making multiple attempts to solicit a refund.|In summary, I would not recommend Posada de las Flores.

We stopped in here to determine viability for an extended stay next year. The atmosphere is exquisite. The location is excellent. The top level pool is really nice. In the lobby, look UP at the ceiling grid. What you are looking at is the bottom of the POOL. The rooms are classic old Mexico. I don't know that I could sleep on one of those mattresses though. The spiral staircase is also a nice touch.

Jan 2025: enjoyed everything about this charming hotel right in the heart of charming Loreto. Very friendly and helpful staff, including Ussiel (day mgr), Alexia and the young guy whose name I don't recall, but I do remember he rescued many abandoned dogs. Although remodeled several times, they've done a remarkable job of maintaining the character (2+ inch doors throughout; historic hardware throughout, etc.). Bed and room were comfy. Simple breakfast was fine (coffee, toast or fruit). Rooftop bar was nice as well. Both run by a separate business. On weekend evenings it's a bit loud due to nearby bars (e.g., Mike's Bar, which btw, is a hoot for people watching). Rather than complain about the music, why not go there and have a great time. The location was perfect, w/ many cafes & stores within a few hundred feet of the hotel. All in all, an authentic historic boutique hotel in the center of a town with one stoplight!

My wife and I have been coming to Posada de las Flores for three years now and we always enjoy our stay. Staff are great and always make us feel at home. The food Chef Vicente makes is delicious too.

During a Baja California cruise in early 2025, our Holland America ship visited Loreto. A very walkable, safe and peaceful city I enjoyed. The Malecon was fun, the tourist area was busy (loved the 25 peso fresh street tacos) and the hot sauces at the market just outside the tourist area were great. I highly recommend musicians Carlos Patricio, Santiago Paniaqua (Grupo Bahia Mazatlan) & Loreto's own Hurricane Hoover (and I wish I could return for the Loreto Blues Festival this upcoming March!).

Yelp
DANGER!!! DANGER IF YOU BOOK HERE!! I made a reservation in October for February long (Presidents Day weekend). I paid prior to arrival. Upon checking in, I was turned away. Full hotel I was told. I had proof of payment!!! I was left to my own devices with limited cell connection and NO PLACE TO STAY! This hotel DID NOT CARE!! This was so dangerous for me!

Yelp
Disgusting stench in the bathroom in the morning. Burned our noses. Had to check out early due to the worst smell I have ever smelled. Pool was not clean. In room refrigerator did not work. Poor lighting in the room. Complained to management and received no response.

Yelp
We had a four night stay, that, for the most part, was great. The hotel has a really beautiful, classically Mexican look and feel. The staff was very attentive. The included continental breakfast was great (coffee, juice, toast, granola, yogurt, fruit). However, the hot water was extremely spotty. Some nights it worked, other nights it stayed cold. Because the hotel is located right in the plaza of a 300 year old church, the church bells ring every 15 to 30 minutes, ALL night long. Also, as animals roam freely in the area, the resident Tom cat meowed in the middle of the night too. There's also a beautiful rooftop pool and patio area. If it weren't for the noise of the church and the unreliability of the water, I'd go back.

Yelp
Worst place I've ever stayed at. The A/C unit was so loud it kept me up all night. The hotel is so close to the street that you can hear cars honking horns and blasting music late into the night. There is no pool. There is no views. Breakfast, if you can call it that, was terrible.

Yelp
This hotel is aesthetically appealing but there are some issues.... I was unable to sleep on the rock hard bed with loud and awful music blasting until 1 am on a Saturday night... would not come back ... glad I'm just here 1 night.

Yelp
We stayed here for 2 days to round out our trip to Loreto. Hotel Posada de las Flores did not disappoint with its charm. Our room was quaint and rustic with a lovely little tiled bathroom and sink area. Our room had a mini-fridge so we were able to keep snacks and leftovers. And, although our room key had a number on it, each of the rooms is actually identified by the flower painting next to the door. We stayed in the mirasol (sunflower) room; others are the poinsettia, lily, daisy, rose, etc. The lobby is full of stairs and antiques that reflect the charm of old Mexico. The floor throughout is stone. There is a restaurant on the top floor which serves a nice little continental breakfast. Also there is a rooftop pool that can be seen below from the lobby and several areas of tables and chairs up top where one can relax and listen to the sounds below from the zocolo. One thing that we thought was super cool is that Sirius' Beatle station plays throughout the lobby and rooftop! The staff was helpful and thoughtful. We really loved being in the heart of Loreto with everything so walkable. Five minutes to the Malecón, less than 10 to the grocery store, the brewery just kitty corner from the hotel. There are also some great little restaurants just steps away. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Lovely old building in the center of town. Nothing worked. Been camping and needed hot showers. No hot water. Tried the desk: phone dead. WiFi in the room dead. Met the staff: unresponsive and wouldn't move us. Cold shower. Holy crap. Maybe we could heat the room? Heater dead. My God, we need a drink. No ice in the building. Chilly in the room and we slept in our dirty but warm camping clothes. In the morning, the poor girl was struggling with a tragic old Mr. Coffee. No concessions on this expensive room. Friends won't let friends stay here. This poor building needs way better management.

Yelp
Stayed here for my 40th birthday. Ended up being one of two couples in the entire place. Invited a few friends and had the whole rooftop pool area to ourselves all afternoon and WELL INTO THE EVENING! Restaurant was closed, but since that limited the people we were stoked. Beautiful rooms, great views of the plaza, and awesome staff!

Yelp
This hotel was absolutely gorgeous with a view of the plaza from the rooftop, really gave you a feel of being immersed in the town culture. The staff was so kind and thoughtful and arranged for a lab employee to come to the hotel to give us covid tests to allow us to reenter the US. Also convenient walking distance from the beach and main shops in Loreto!

Yelp
(2007) This hotel is every bit as charming as it looks. I went there in November of 2007, a day AFTER Dias De Los Muertos. Walking the cobblestoned streets I saw remnants of the wonderful holiday littered everywhere with paper roses, sugar skulls and crosses. It was colorfully somewhat beautiful. This hotel does sit in the heart of downtown and does face a CHURCH whose bells may toll at random. It can get quite noisy between that and the propaganda trucks driving by blasting unnewsworthy things on their speakers. The hotel itself is true Mexican complete with lavish decor, water fountains and of course lots, and lots of tile! But if you want ROMANCE, AUTHENTIC MEXICAN feel, great food, dining, and a fabulous massage (which I did get downstairs) it is every bit 5 star across the board. Suggestions: MINI-3 DAY VACAY!

Yelp
I am giving this Hotel 2 stars only because it does have great potentIal. My husband booked this place as a birthday surprise for me. Location is wonderful...good news bad news Windows are single panes and loose in their framing. We experienced live loud music directly under us starting in afternoon nonstop till 9. Except for the Saturday night when it was the once a month fiesta that ends at midnight with an open mike. It was charming for five minutes but in the end we were out of our minds and chose not to go on an early morning kayak tour on so little sleep. At least if we had a working tv we could have raised the volume but unfortunately our tv was not working and staff unable to fix. Hot water pipes nearly gave me a heart attack with vibration and noise. Unable to relax at all in room night before we left Oscars were on and we watched on iPhone full blast still barely hearing over outside music. Room needed much more TLC but not going to be picky. Just will end by saying for for nights We asked for a refund toward the costt of the room for the inconvenience however were told we had too good an internet deal to refund. We paid $700 for 4 nights. Compare that to any of the othe LOVELY choice around Loreto and I would say that's a bit high. Needless to say, we will for surE be back to Loreto, but never to this establishment

Yelp
I am providing this negative review with some regret since the Posada de las Flores hotel in Loreto and its facilities and location are excellent. The hotel is clean, decorated with attractive antiques and artifacts, is located centrally in the main town square, is close to the mission and is surrounded by excellent and reasonably priced restaurants with varied cuisine. On the final day of our stay my son and I went onto the roof deck for breakfast, having locked our room and taken the key with us. We were away from our room perhaps 30-40 minutes and started to pack our belongings to go to the airport on our return. It was at this time that my son noticed that some money was missing from his wallet which he had kept hidden in a compartment within his rucksack. Assuming he may have misplaced it, I suggested he look elsewhere but then noticed that money had also been removed from my wallet, which had not been hidden. Interestingly, the thief had taken all of the high denomination notes from both of our wallets leaving only the smaller bills such that, at a glance, it would appear that nothing was amiss. We reported the theft to the manager on duty immediately who, much to our surprise, seemed only mildly interested but not really concerned. Interestingly, his English seemed to deteriorate upon the news from being fairly fluent to "no comprendo ingles" - which was very puzzling. We asked how someone could enter the locked room and he indicated that, other than ourselves, only the cleaning maid had a key. We waited for some further response and, in the absence of any action, suggested he talk to the staff to see if any of them could shed light on the situation. He duly called the three staff on duty, closed the door so we could not hear the conversation, and spoke with them for a few minutes. He then indicated that they knew nothing, he knew nothing, nothing could be done and looked at us blankly. After a pregnant pause, I suggested that he may want to inform the police since, in my words, I was sure he would be very worried if there was a criminal on his staff. That at least brought some concern to his face. He indicated the police station was about 3 km away - implying I would have to find my own way there in the 95F degree heat. At that point, I suggested he call the police and ask them to come to the hotel. He called reluctantly and after a few minutes the police arrived, questioned us and the manager, took some notes and made a report. I asked if they could request the video from the surveillance camera which, from our observation, would capture at least the bottom part of the door to our room. They said they could not view it and called the Federales who apparently had the necessary authority. The Federales came, questioned us and the manager, and then left. The video tape was not viewed by the Federales or the manager who had initially told us the field of view was not sufficient to capture the perpetrator entering our room but subsequently changed his story when we challenged his statement to say that it was real time feed only and the monitor was in La Paz - REALLY???? In conclusion, approximately $650 was stolen from two wallets within the space of 30-40 minutes by a person who had key access to our room. We were greeted on the roof patio when we went for breakfast by the manager and the cleaning maid both of whom knew we were the only occupants of our room and therefore that it was vacated for the entire period while we were on the patio giving the thief sufficient time to not only take money from one wallet but also to search through our belongings to find the second hidden wallet that they knew must be present. Finally, there was reluctance by the staff to take action on our complaint. Given these facts it is difficult to not cast aspersions but it would seem to me that you do not need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure this one out. In way of warning - your movements are being watched, do not leave any valuables in your room unattended and take everything with you, even if you leave for a minute. There are no safes in the rooms but there is one in the lobby. Only the manager has access to this safe - which would narrow down the possibilities if your valuables go missing. I hope this review will save you the disappointment that we felt during our stay in this charming, friendly, little town.

Yelp
Booked this hotel while on the road; when we got to the hotel, NOBODY was there, so we could not check in. Once a manager got to the hotel and opened up, he first had breakfast and casually spoke with staff before helping us. When he finally checked us in and followed us to our room; not even offering to help with bags or anything.... he opened the door for us and left. We took about a hour nap and when we got up we realized that we had NO water and that the room smelled like a sewer. When we told the manager about the problem, he was already aware and said that the entire town is like this. We left as we could not shower or sleep with the smell. We were there maybe 3 hours. We called Southwest Hotels to report the issues. The manager emailed Southwest prior to our call and stated that we were there for 8 hours and that we checked in at 7am..... all lies! The hotel claims to offer breakfast, which is included, but we were not offered anything. And they say "in the small print", when you book that the hotel is closed between 11pm and 7am. Nobody is there!! Do not stay here unless you really enjoy an adventure and like living on the edge! ..... no shower, no food, no service!

Susan B.

Yelp
The hotel is very dark so cannot tell if it is clean or not as everything is very old. The upholstered chairs in the halls and rooms are desperately in need of new padding or cushions. The free breakfast is a joke. They give you food colored water and tell you it is healthy juice. We will never go there again.
