Posada de Luz

Fantastic, clean and comfortable accommodation. Loved our stay here and extended to stay extra days to enjoy the lively property and views of the hills. Note that the wind picked up EVERY day and in the warmest month of the year you still needed a puffer jacket (locals wore them too!)

We stayed here for two nights during high season (Jan 2025) and we were glad we chose Posada de Luz. They kindly let us check in earlier (around 11:30), and they also brought us breakfast to the room the day we checked out because we were leaving the place before 8AM. They have a little farm in the back with a chicken, a dog and two llamas. It feels a bit weird to have two llamas over there simply to attract the tourists and their pictures, but they looked well fed and taken care of. The little pool may be nice for the summer days but it's not climatized (it would be worthwhile investing some money in making it climatized in the future). Breakfast is good, and there are medialunas and coffee available the whole day. The people at the reception are very kind and they talk in a way that makes you feel relaxed. The location is also great, not far from the center and in a very quiet area. Very nice price-quality relation.

Indeed a very lovely place. Good parking space. Great rooms, they even gave us a kettle for making tea. Cute Lamas on the lawn. Very good breakfast with wonderful views on the terrace. All rooms have a terrace which is so nice to sit and watch the scenery.

Beautiful hotel, amazing value for money. Stayed for two nights and it was probably one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Fabulous views, comfortable rooms, nice breakfast, friendly staff. There are even two resident llamas! The pool could be a bit cleaner, but that’s the only thing that could be improved. We would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved our stay in La Posada de Luz! The whole place is just very beautifully done and comfortable. Although very close to the main square and the church, it’s a haven of tranquility, where you eat well, and can really relax while enjoying the views. The garden is full of gorgeous flowers. The staff are complete gems, super friendly and helpful. For us, it was a bit of a treat - more expensive than what we would normally stay in, but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic small very well run hotel and extremely good value when booked direct. Breakfast was lovely especially the fresh cooked omelette. Tea and cakes was also provided at 4pm and the apple pie was outstanding. Views were amazing yet a very short walk to the main square .Would recommend to others

An oasis in Tilcara. Beautiful rooms and grounds. Very attentive and friendly staff. Located only a few blocks from the main square. A wonderful place and experience. Very clean. The larger rooms are very nice, but the smaller rooms are just fine too. Nice common room.

This is a great base from which to explore the north west of Salta. It is an oasis away from dusty roads. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and gave us useful advice. From here we went to the three sénioritas hike in Humahuaca and the 14 colours hills which were absolutely stunning. On our way from Tilcara we visited the salt lake. All are highly recommended experiences.
