Step in to drink a mocaccino and ordered a chocolate souffle, just that not stay at the hotel. The mocaccino taste good but way too sweet. The souffle well, it was not a souffle, nor even close to a real chocolate soffle. This one was a biege mousse that should not be called souffle.

An by owner management hotel. Price is great . Familiar style. Comfortable rooms with basic needs. Restaurant on site. EXCELLENT LOCATION!!! 1 block from Antigua Parque Central!! It is now my Favorite hotel to stay . They can set up fantastic tours for you to the many tourist attractions !! Ideal for Solo Travelers, couples , business travelers.

Had a pleasant one night stay at San Carlos after a last minute itinerary change. The room was comfortable enough but had some issues that may be significant to some - the TV was barely functional and the hot water came out as a dribble and only if you had it in the perfect position.

Great place to stay! The price is as good as you’ll find in Antigua, and it includes a nice breakfast. Rooms are comfortable, not fancy, but nice size and well set up. But the best thing is the staff. Owners Hazel and Carlos are really friendly and helpful. Hazel went well out of her way to help us with arrangements and recovering an item lost well out of town. Carlos is great to talk to and full of info. Edgar and I became great friends. ||||And the location is as good as you can get. Quiet street but only about a block from the center of town.||||Looking forward to going back again!

We were first drawn in by glimpsing the beautiful garden from the street. Decorated with bright colour schemes and plentiful plants, it seemed the perfect tropical enclave for lunch on a sunny day. I ordered steak with three pepper sauce, which was delicious. My wife took a panini, which she was also very happy with. We felt so at peace with the lovely garden here that we decided to stay at the hotel for a few days the next time we were in Antigua! And we did not regret it. The rooms are comfortable, the location ideal, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Thanks Posada San Carlos!

What you see is what you get. The bed was really hard, and we had no running hot water. But moving past that, the owner was amazing, we enjoyed speaking with him. He even let us keep our bags in the room little after check out so we can do our pacaya hike. Wifi was really reliable. Service was amazing. Just not so much with the room.

This is a small establishment that is kid friendly. It is nice they have a playground for the kids but it is loud. There are small windows to open to get some air but then you hear all of the noise from the courtyard. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the rooms get hot. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are big. Small bathroom with no room to put anything anywhere. The worst part is the time it takes to get breakfast. It is included but it takes almost an hour to get your breakfast. Plus if you are there many days it is only the same thing every day, which gets old if you are there a week. The hotel itself is pretty nice but there are so many places to stay in Antigua that provide a better value.

Finally had the best breakfast in two months of being in Guatemala, it was absolutely delicious! Had the full breakfast (delux) eggs, french toast, and a piece of toast & bacon [maple syrup & salsa); my husband had the chapini [served with toast, beans and cream & salsa). Their staff were extremely friendly & well spoken in English. They made you fell at home .. it is a small hotel; we ate outside what a delightful garden. We would definitely return to this wonderful establishment. Thanks Nancy & Julio
