You approach the unassuming red facade with its large wooden doors and ring the bell. Moments later, the front desk welcomes you cheerfully, and as you enter Posada del Angel you are transported into a different world and time. I could not say enough about this hotel, from the beautiful interior, tasteful decoration, and 5 star service, our stay at Posada del Angel was absolutely incredible. The pool is stunning, with vines dangling down walls and flowers bursting from a beautiful fountain in the center. At mid day the whole thing is illuminated by the sun… as I entered I wished I could spend my whole summer in it, splashing around and laid out at its edges. The rooms are all unique and have books and period appropriate trinkets placed all around. Upon request they will build a fire for you, at which point you will feel like nobility of a different time. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace with views overlooking the volcano will have your morning off to a perfect start and was another highlight of the stay. The staff did everything in their power to accommodate us and make our stay as seamless and confortable as possible. Anibal and the team do such an amazing job, one of the best stays I have had. Could not recommend this hotel more.

My husband and I stayed at Posada del Angel while visiting Antigua for a wedding, and it was truly unforgettable. We booked the Clinton Suite and highly, highly recommend it. You have your own private terrace that connects to the rooftop lounge, making it feel like you have the entire city to yourself. It was so peaceful and quiet, with breathtaking views of the volcanoes, especially during breakfast on our terrace. The jacuzzi tub was an amazing way to relax after exploring the city, and the location is perfect! you can walk everywhere. But what really made our stay exceptional was the staff. We were greeted by Anibal, whose warm smile and kindness made every day feel special. He made sure every detail was taken care of, and the entire team was just as gracious and attentive. We’ve stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, and Posada del Angel stands out as one of the best.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with loads of character near the centre of the city. We were placed in the upstairs room with our own terrace. The room is shabby clic with some interesting furniture. The bathroom was very spacious with tub and shower. The shower was slightly temperamental. The electrics were somewhat frail.||We had breakfast each day. There was a set menu but the the staff were very accommodating and made alterations to suit our taste. ||The staff were very helpful and friendly. ||I would stay there again.

The staff is exceptional! Anibal and Nathalia were great communicators by email even before arrival. The hotel is just an 8 minute walk to the main plaza and the cathedral. Ruins, shopping and nice restaurants within walking distance. Rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the Agua volcano. Very nice breakfasts served at the dining room on the ground floor or at the rooftop terrace. Spotty Wi-Fi coverage. Poor or no signal in the rooms. Woven carpet in the room was dirty and worn.

I stayed in Antigua for 5 days last February. I was travelling alone and I wanted a hotel that was comfortable and safe, but also picturesque in case I didn't feel like going out alone at nights. La posada del Angel gave me all that. Very close to everything, with restaurants nearby and the most wonderful staff! |The place is full of beautiful art and has relics in every corner, truly a magical place!|The terrace on the second floor has a great view of the volcano and its the perfect place to have your included breakfast. I had all breakfast options and they were all great and abundant. Be aware they only serve breakfast, but the restaurant next door will bring you room service and they are excellent as well.|My room had a tub under a glass ceiling and it was lovely to use it during the full moon, it also had a fireplace that looked very romantic but the weather wasn't cold enough to use it. |I fell in love with the place and I plan to return. Best staff!

This was the absolute perfect place for us to stay for my birthday and Valentine’s Day! The service was great, the room was cozy and comfortable, and the entire place had the most beautiful charm. The rooftop terrace offered amazing views and was a great place to relax and chat. On top of all that, the breakfast was absolutely delicious! They served the absolute best omelettes and French toast, and the frijoles were very tasty. Overall, it was an excellent stay!

Anibal and staff are fantastic. They arranged transportation from Guatemala City and were so attentive to our needs. The space is gorgeously designed with an attractive rooftop for sunsets. We loved the breakfasts each morning. Thank you all so much!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and had a good visit. The hotel is very well located and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the main square. There is a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy eating a delicious home cooked breakfast looking at the volcanoes. The staff are very helpful. The bedrooms are full of character but hard to navigate as they are very dark and the lighting atmospheric but low with dodgy electrics. The Wi-Fi is intermittent and needs improvement. The bathroom plumbing also needed an upgrade but delightful toiletries. At the weekend the hotel next door has wedding parties which are noisy. The hotel is very secure. Overall would recommend this hotel but don’t expect perfection.
