Posada El Quijote

When I tell you the views are BREATHTAKING! Al and the team were great! I loved my room. The area is very nice, safe, and peaceful. The animals are the cutest and the food was delicious! I will definitely book again!

Had a pleasant stay here at Posada el Quijote. Very friendly staff, Fernando at front desk was knowledgeable and directed us to various areas all around costa rica based on our interests. The pool area has a super nice view. Sweet ladies in the kitchen made Breakfast wonderful every morning. Gate is locked at night so you have to wait for gate keeper to get back in. We tipped all the staff when we left for their amazing hospitality. Would return again. Pura Vida!

Very nice, bright and airy place in a relaxed setting with a beautiful view. The rooms were attractive, staff very helpful and accommodating, and a good breakfast is included in the stay. The room we stayed in first needed some repairs, and they moved us to another, lovely one afterward. We stayed there at the beginning and end of our trip to Costa Rica, and were very glad we had. Thank you!

Posada El Quijote is a lovely, charming spot that offers a wonderful stay with truly breathtaking views of San José. From the moment I arrived, the serene atmosphere and welcoming vibe made me feel right at home. One of the highlights for me was the company of the resident cats—they added such a delightful touch to the experience, making it feel even more like a home away from home. The common areas were bright, spacious, and perfectly suited for relaxation, whether you wanted to read a book, enjoy a cup of coffee, or simply take in the stunning view over the city. While the stay was fantastic overall, there were a couple of very minor inconveniences. The Wi-Fi didn’t quite reach my room, which was a bit of a hassle, and occasionally the showers didn’t get as warm as I’d have liked. However, these were small issues in the grand scheme of things and didn’t detract from what was otherwise a great stay. If you’re after a peaceful retreat with gorgeous views and some feline friends, Posada El Quijote is an excellent choice.

I really loved my stay at Posada el Quijote. It was my final night in Costa Rica before catching my flight back home and it was a brilliant place to relax and rest before the long journey. Fernando was really helpful and friendly, as was the other gentleman on reception in the evening. ||The pool has a brilliant view of San José, and being that bit higher up, there was a lovely breeze so it was a nice temperature for sunbathing. It was a 12 minute walk to a Fresh Market when I wanted to pop out for lunch and get supplies. The breakfast included had a range of options including gluten-free pancakes!||There's a lovely dog called Perla on-site as well as seven cats. It felt like a nice homely place to stay.||The pool could do with a little bit of TLC, as it needed a bit of fixing and cleaning in places, but it did the job for me as a final place to stay in Costa Rica.

Good service and clean room. The location and view is amazing. Very helpfull staff, we arrived late and it was no problem at all. Good breakfast too. Would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in San Jose. It’s a quiet neighbourhood, and the rooms are big and nice standard.

Exceeded our expectations! Owner treats everyone like family and was helpful and very kind. The infinity pool overlooks gorgeous views of San Jose with plenty of outdoor seating. Common areas inside are comfy and well decorated with plenty of spots to sit and relax…same with breakfast area(and the included breakfast had multiple options and are booked to order and large portions). Our room was spotless and lovely with pretty views of the garden, pool, and of downtown San Jose off in the distance below (views of the city were especially pretty at night). My husband and I travel often and rate this stay as a 10-10! We will not hesitate to return again!!

Absolutely loved this place. We spent the first two nights of our honeymoon here after flying in to San Jose. From the airport, it took about 50 minutes in rush hour traffic to get there (5pm), but definitely worth it. Incredible view with a lovely garden. The grounds as a whole was well maintained and very homey feeling. There are sweet cats and a friendly dog! The breakfast was amazing both times and honestly have been my favorite I have had in CR thus far. The staff was VERY helpful for local tips and very accommodating. 10/10 love this place!
