Posada Hotel Colonial

I loved staying at Hotel Colonial! I came on a solo trip as quick stop while traveling on that side of the island to Lajas for a Bio Bay tour, and it was a great experience! Everything was clean and welcoming! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also spoke both English and Spanish. The hotel is full of history and there is interactive QR codes around the building to tell you a bit of history behind things you are seeing. It was also in a great location. I loved waking up and walking to Vale La Pena cafe for a delicious breakfast before traveling back to San Juan. I booked a small room with a twin sized bed, and it was perfectly fine for what I needed. It was small but not uncomfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Had a wonderful time at this hotel. The rooms are very small, barely enough room to walk around the bed, but they’re full of character and history. We loved the location so close to the old city center and plaza with great restaurants nearby. It was a great spot to use as a launching point for bio bay tours or beach days. Parking was easy to use and there were sufficient spaces.

This is a good cozy hotel, nothing to fancy just right at a great price. I am an avid cyclist and stayed there for cycling events when in that area (they let you take your bike in the room). This year I reserved a room and on the day of my reservation had an accident that prevented me from staying. Even though it was against their booking policy, they told me that if they were able to rent the room they would give me a refund to help me with the expenses. Couple of days later I got a call asking how I was doing and told me that they would give me the refund, they did not have to do that but they did and are very grateful. Thank you!

Front desk personnel were wonderful. Very amicable and informative. Location was perfect for my purpose and just steps away from restaurants. Very clean. Room a/c worked great and bed was comfy. Pleasant stay; no noise during nighttime.

Great place to stay, but parking is only available if you’re lucky. Can’t go out and arrive late cause you’ll have to find a spot out on the street. Families bring more than one car and limit those who only have one.

Walking distance to major attractions like the Yagüez Theater, Plaza Colón, Mayor Office, bars, restaurants, church, Ricomini Bakery, Papas Pizza and shops. Excellent personal at front desk and stateroom service. Driving distance close to Mayagüez Mall, CAAM University and other cities.

It's little the space in the rooms, remember España "hostales", but excellent location, super clean, excellent employees. The better assets are the people work here, they make the difference.
