Posada La Casa Grande

Very traditionnal spanish ils house, if you enjoy charming, simple, practical place,very clean... you will love this place...if you look for Hilton style, go to Hilton and pay 6 times the price....

From the warm welcome to the friendly departure this was a good experience. A large room, very comfortable and airy with heaters and air conditioning to suit all weathers. The ensuite was spacious. There is a communal kitchen and a huge lounge with dining table and television area. Our hosts were generous with information to make our stay interesting and easy. There were some great walks with super views and the historic castle was well worth a visit. The local bars were welcoming and every night we enjoyed great tapas. While there were no negatives with the accommodation the town itself was built on a very steep slope and the walk from the railway station to the hotel was very long and difficult. ( there were no taxis available.) However I asked a policeman who whipped out his mobile phone and called a taxi for us. This is no country for old men but by the time we left we were both much fitter.

We are two backpackers from Germany and spontaneously needed a place to stay. The staff of the hotel Posada La Casa Grande were super friendly and helped us. Everything was clean, the bed was super comfortable, the location is great and close to a castle and the hotel itself has a beautiful inner courtyard. We would definitely come back again!

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting friends in Jimena; we wanted something cheap and cheerful and Casa Grande fitted the bill. It is very pretty, rather ramshackle, with a lovely courtyard and a fantastic library/reading room across the whole of the top floor.||||Our room was large with fantastic views over the mountains. It was pretty basic but quite comfortable for a short stay, and the location (at the northern end of the town) was excellent. There is a free carpark about 100 metres away on the way into the town from the C3331. ||||The restaurant wasn't open while we were there but there is a friendly cafe/bar right next door, open for breakfast, and plenty of good eating places within a few minutes' walk.

We visited with friends for a weekend. Arriving on a Friday night we were greeted at the reception by a man who seemed impatient to get back to whatever he had been doing before. He showed us to our room for my husband, son and our two dogs. The room was a very basic affair and there was an old sofa bed for our son which wasn't made up. ||He told us someone would be in shortly to make up the sofa bed whilst we were out for dinner. The hotel offered us no food and wouldn't even open their bar for us even though as a group there were 7 of us in total.||When we returned to our room, the sofa bed had been pulled out but not made up - bedding had been left on the side table for us to make up the bed. All the bedding, although clean was fraying and threadbare.||The beds were so uncomfortable and old. They squeaked with every tiny move. We also found out our room was above a popular bar - separated by only a single thin floor. On the Friday night the bar was open till 2am and then reopened at 6am on Saturday and Saturday evening it shut at about 4am. Sleep was not even remotely possible.||In the morning we realised that we had been bitten by bedbugs. ||There was supposed to of been a log fire in the sitting room but no attempt at hospitality had been made and in fact on the Saturday night the hotel owners were all curled up on the sofas with blankets over them watching TV.||When we went to leave on Sunday morning, we constantly rang the bell in reception in order to settle our bill but no one came. Another member of our party had to settle the bill for us later.||A very bad experience - we will not visit this establishment again.

The whole experience was brilliant, the place is lovely, old bulging full of history, amazing trips around the area, and the service was stunning.||||The deco, yardguard were pretty cool, we are gonna come back for sure, highly recommended.

We arrived after the check in time and the place was closed. We called the number on the board and the owner came by 10 minutes later to let us in.

Todo muy bien, pero en la habitación, la número 6, había mucho polvo. La repisa y los muebles tenían un dedo de polvo y tanto a mí pareja como a mí nos dió un ataque de alergia. El aire acondicionado estaba puesto cuando llegamos y eso hizo que el polvo se expandiera más aún. Cuando nos dimos cuenta ya era tarde y no pudimos hacer nada para evitarlo. Pasamos una noche regular por estar asfixiados.
