We stayed at Posada Los Alamos for three nights and found it to be very well located, within easy walking distance of the main downtown street. The property is well maintained, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. The front desk staff were welcoming, professional, and consistently helpful throughout our stay. Additionally, the hotel is well recognized by local tour operators, making pick-up and drop-off for excursions very convenient. We would have rated the hotel five stars if not for the experience at the breakfast restaurant. While the continental breakfast itself was adequate, the service was noticeably lacking. Staff presence was minimal, and although personnel were visible, they did not appear attentive or available to assist guests. We did not use other hotel amenities such as the spa, fitness center, pool, or dinner service, so we cannot comment on those facilities. Overall, for travelers seeking a clean, comfortable, and centrally located hotel in El Calafate, Posada Los Alamos is a very good choice.

Wonderful stay . Got much much more than expected. Definitely a place to stay

Great hotel at a great price! In all of el Calafate, they have the best hotel grounds too, with a lovely lawn and big mature trees. Breakfast was great with all the normal fixings plus omelette bar, crepes, and some other fresh additions. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot with good pressure, and we loved the robes. We used the laundry service which was fast and very well done. The only down side was the hot tubs were cold in the swimming area.

We overall enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The service was excellent, and the location was very convenient and close to the main street. We really liked the spa and pool after a long day on excursions. The breakfast was good, too. While our room was spacious, we found it pretty outdated and it was very hot without air conditioning (in December). The windows opened at the top and did not help much. Thankfully, we asked the front desk for a fan and were able to sleep more comfortably after that.

TL:DR Do not stay here, there are plenty of better, more secure hotels in the area then this place The Alamo's pictures look good and it's location in the center of town is excellent but the experience in the hotel is much to be desired. The first major issue is that the bathrooms here are outdated and have ZERO ventilation. This means after just one shower, the room gets musty and humid. We could see mold all over the room because of this. Also, because of the lack of ventilation, the cleaning staff opens the window of the room in the morning during their housekeeping. While this wouldn't be an issue on the second or third floor, we were on the ground floor facing the town road which means any guy can walk into our room while we are out on any full day excursion, take whatever they wish, and leave and no one would know. The walls and ceiling are also paper thin. We could hear someone have a coughing fit two or three rooms down and the people tap dancing above us. The door to the room is also loud and doesn't prevent sound. Any force in closing the door will cause a loud bang. This is the case for every door in the hallway, we all knew when we all left or entered our rooms. Also, while not entirely the fault of the hotel, a lot of families were letting their kids and teens run wild in the hallways and in their rooms late at night. It's annoying when you have an excursion at 6am the next morning and someone's 15 year old is providing unsolicited singing the next room over at 11pm. Also, many families were having team meetings and phone calls late at night in the hallways too, which drove us insane. This hotel needs to enact and enforce a quiet policy at 10pm or 11pm for the early risers. Lastly, at some point on the last day, someone came in and took 40 dollars from my wallet. It was just enough for me to notice, but not big enough for me to make a fuss about, but totally unacceptable from a hotel security standpoint. Other people in my party also noticed money missing from their rooms. The Alamo Hotel's location was excellent and the service/food was mostly good but the things I mentioned above made this experience a terrible one. If you value your safety, sanity, and sleep, please choose somewhere else to stay. There are so many options.

Whilst only for one night, we found this hotel to be very comfortable and the staff friendly & accommodating. Due to a tight schedule, they kindly allowed us an early check-in ahead of an adjusted time for a tour we had booked, for which we were very grateful.|The breakfast spread was varied, likely to be something for everyone.

Compared to a lot of the accommodation in the town, this hotel stands out externally as impressive. However, inside it is dated and needs some improvements. We arrived, having booked weeks before, but reception couldn't find our reservation so we were moved to the bar with a coffee while I think they found us a room. The rooms are nice, spacious and have everything, but I wouldn't rave about them. I think the range of very good hostels in town makes this a hard sell, as the hostels offer great, private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and they have way more character and a better service. We thought having a spa and pool would be a massive treat, but the pool has broken tiles, unfinished surfaces and is absolutely filthy. The water was murky with floating bits, and there is a muddy tide mark on the tiles... We only stayed one night and I'm relieved as I would feel ripped off otherwise. I recommend trying a good hostel and getting a private room...cheaper, better service and all round a nicer experience.

A modest aging property located in the small town of Califate that provides a convenient base for exploring the nearby lake and natural wonders. It looks quite stately from the lobby and exterior but the rooms and especially the bathrooms are long over due for an upgrade. We stayed for two nights at the end of January as part of a tour to visit glaciers and national parks. We stayed in a king room on the 2nd floor. While perfectly clean and comfortable it was definitely a step down from other hotels on this trip-comparable to a mid-scale spot in the US. Like other area hotels in Patagonia, there is no Ac due to the normally cool climate and heat is provide via antiquated radiators. Luckily there was a large sliding window to open but without any cross ventilation or fan to move air, the room felt stuffy. The small bathroom was at least 20 years old with outdated fixtures like the tub/shower combo and a tiny single sink with antiquated faucet and sputtering water pressure. Bath amenities were also very basic. Breakfast was included and while there were many selections, items were largely packaged and canned foods set out like canned pears, cold cuts, and processed meats and cheese. As I said, despite the woeful lack of creature comforts, as a place to crash for a couple of nights it was perfectly adequate.

This hotel has multiple buildings. You sleep on one. You eat in another. The spa, pool, fitness center is in another. Had a facial one day and a massage the next. Disappointed. The facial was just a cleaning and masks. And ends with a short facial massage. The session ended short. Same with the massage. Not only did it ended short, the pressure was light even after we specifically asked for stronger. The location is two blocks off the main street where you'll find restaurants and shops. My room was on the side and small, quiet and clean. Great workout room, pool and common areas. Has a European charm and close to main drag/restaurants.

This hotel is loud and dirty. The walls are paper-thin, and every room faces a loud street where people are out partying all night. We requested a non-smoking room, and yet our room stunk of cigarette smoke. It was not cheap. Horrible value for the money.
