The location is very close to the national park, I loved how quiet it was at this place. The owner has a cute and smart parrot that can speak a lot of Spanish words. It was a very pleasant experience staying here.

If you want rustic and a true Costa Rica experience….this place was great! Rustic rooms (bare minimum). No air conditioning – two fans were mounted on the walls in the room. When in CR, all you need is a comfortable bed and water for a shower. The staff here are friendly and helpful (they don’t speak a whole lot of English). Grounds are clean and landscaped nicely. The attached restaurant serves ample portions of food at reasonable prices. This is a close proximity to Rio Celeste Waterfall hike.

For the price and hospitality, you cannot beat this place. We came from a 4 star first class stay the two nights prior with all the amenities and are not unhappy in the least. The rooms are rustic and this is not a resort. What it is though is a family business that is run by a terrific group of people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Bed is comfortable, pillows too, shower provides enough heat to make the water very comfortable if you need heat at all, small refrigerator, and table. TV should you need it but we never turned it on so I don’t know what it offers, if anything. There is everything you need to enjoy the area and the restaurant here is amazing. Don’t forget to tour their property just a few hundred meters away and take your own trip to the river and beautiful scenery. We were able to see many birds and a very large iguana on the way to the beautiful water.

We really enjoyed our stay and I can totally recommend his place for a night or two. The garden is so beautiful and while having breakfast there are so many birds to observe. We also had lunch and dinner here and everything was delicious. Everyone was really helpful and also great with our son!

Great Stay, very welcoming! Simple, rural for sure but restaurant on premises with yummy food, tours like horseback riding just a few steps away is a plus, plus, plus. Everyone gave excellent service. We got 2 rooms and both were simple, clean, had what we needed. I would stay here again it was so peaceful!! If you want to feel you are truly away from it all, come stay here!!

This budget accommodation is very comfortable. The cabin is nice and the window has a screen. The bathroom is clean and has soap. You should bring your own shampoo. The only issue I wanted to raise is that it got very noisy overnight on my second night. I stayed in the front-most cabin and I’m not sure if the noise was coming from the restaurant area across the way or the connected cabin next-door. My first night was quiet and everything was good. But there was significant noise at three in the morning and then there was something going on outside at 6 AM. It might be the case at one of the cabins towards the back of the property is quieter. Cabin nine looks like it is standalone say it would not have the issue of neighbors. The restaurant is nice, the service is very friendly (but I’m not sure if they actually speak English) and the walk down to the river in your nearby is pretty cool. If you do that, make sure to wear real shoes.

During our Rio Celeste visit, we’ve stopped by Posado La Amistad for a delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch. The Casado are delicious with great healthy variety like Plantains, salad and rice. The restaurant has a beautiful garden and even Wifi availability. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is a bit hidden/ offsite from the main road, but is a great option if you’re visiting Rio Celeste.

This place was truly a piece of heaven! Rio Celeste is already a very special place, off the beaten track and blessed with a milky blue river and clouds that touch the ground. The posada was such a peaceful and beautiful place from which to explore the area. The staff was incredible welcoming and treated us and especially our children like family. The hotel is a farm to table family hotel that is one of the original in the area. The hotel rooms are comfortable and cool with bright colors and mosquito nets. There are beautiful gardens on the hotel grounds with fruit trees, herb and vegetable gardens, flowers and a stream. The included breakfast was huge and delicious and the other meals we had were also large and very fresh made with food from the family garden. There were two pet parrots that were bilingual and fun to watch. Our children loved exploring the grounds and we loved listening to the sounds of nature and watch the clouds roll over us. It is very close to Rio Celeste and the family owns a private trail through the jungle to a place where you can swim in the river. We had a wonderful time in this magical place. It was one of our favorite places in Costa Rica.
