This bed and breakfast looks like something out of a fairy tale. The grounds are meticulously cared for and with the river and mountains in the background, the aesthetics of staying in the area are spot on! That being said, I would not stay here again. While the accommodations themselves were very clean and you can tell the owners take great pride in the property, as a hotel, it was not an entirely enjoyable experience. The owners do not speak any English, which was okay except for the wife was not very friendly. The husband and us were able to communicate good enough and he was friendly and smiling, but the wife seemed annoyed with us staying there. The bed in the double balcony room was not very comfortable and as others have reported you can hear every step, conversation, and sound that takes place in the entire house at all hours of the day and night. One night it got very cold and we could not get the radiator to work and when we asked the woman she told us the radiators don't work. Not sure if she was telling the truth or if they just keep them off during a certain time of year to save money but it was very off-putting to be told we just had to be cold. Lastly, we were a bit disappointed we did not get the pancakes that others had talked about with the breakfast. Instead, we got a shared plate of two or three scrambled eggs total for two people and a few slices of cold ham. I think next time we're in the area I would just rent a house and would not stay here again. Despite the property itself being beautiful, the entire area is beautiful, so the hotel itself doesn't present that good of a value.

The views are stunningly beautiful and building is very cozy, comfortable, and very well cared for. The owners are exceptionally nice and helpful, and they gave us a nice, healthy breakfast. Our only quibble would be that the bed was very hard, and the bathroom a bit spartan, but we really enjoyed our stay here.

Go here if you are in the Picos for hiking. The cable car is just 20 min away by car. The house is fantastic! Wonderful couple who look very attentively after the guest. Great breakfast and amazing tomato jam. In summer you can sit outside in the garden with a fanstoc backdrop of the mountains. Very very big recommendation.

A lovely rural retreat nestled in the Picos Mountains. The sound of cow bells is your alarm clock, should you need one. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Love the "honesty bar" .. basic choices, but a great idea. Parking is ample and some covered parking is available. You do need some transport here, unless you are a very fit and enthusiastic walker. Some great places to visit within a 20 min drive.. do have a drive both up and down the road and around the location. A great cafe/bar just 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Try the menu of the day.. always great value, (similarly in most Spanish and Portuguese cafes.. 3 course AND a bottle of wine for usually under €20 each! Wow!).

An outstanding place to stay. We had a room with a balcony which had a view of the snow-covered peaks. Very quiet and peaceful: the only sounds were the bells of sheep grazing on the hillside, running water in a stream and some bird life.|The place dose not look like a typical hotel: it is more like visiting a wealthy friend in their home, with comfortable armchairs and settees. The gardens are maintained meticulously with beautiful flowers and even bonsai trees on the fenceposts. |Breakfast was excellent, comprising cereals, toast, and mini pancakes and generous servings of coffee. |The place was immaculate, with comfortable bed, writing desk, wifi, and the owners are courteous and helpful. There were no downsides, and we will definitely be back!

What a delightful experience at Posada San Pelayo. The coziness of the Posada, the kindness of the owners Lourdes and her husband, and THE VIEWS of the Picos de Europa mountains with snow, specially from our bedroom, BREATHTAKING. |It's a nice 10 minute or less car drive to Potes, away from the town buzz. Also you have in a 7 minute drive the Monasterio Santo Toribio de Liébana and also a must, drive 20 minutes to Fuente Dé to take the tram up to the Picos Mountain for an exhilarating view from the top, specially on a clear sunny day. The Posada San Pelayo has so many details inside and outside that you feel home away from home. Breakfast was also a nice treat, coffee, tea, orange juice, bread with jam, butter, ham and cheese, homemade cake and torrijas, yogurt and cereal, beautifully placed at the table. And they have Pongo, their lovely Golden Retriever who is always available for a nice little tummy rub. This is 100% one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. Hope to come back again soon.|

Along the country road from Potes towards Fuente De, in the very heart of Picos de Europa country, the Posada San Pelayo is a gorgeous old country house with polished oak beams, deep soft armchairs, and comfortable bedrooms. A great spot to base for exploring this beautiful part of northen Spain. The garden offers sunshine or shade as well as spectacular mountain views, there's a pool for the sunnier days, and plenty of room to park. Breakfast is a snip at 13.50 Euros, and the best dinner option is, maybe surprisingly, the local campsite, five minutes down the lane, where the food and service surpass all expectations. A lovely place (with a lovely Labrador to welcome you).

A haven surrounded by flowers with views of the mountains. The most serene and stunning setting to stay whilst exploring the Picos de Europa. Breakfast in the garden on nice days provides the sound of birdsong and views of the mountains whilst eating hot fresh frixuelos (little Asturian pancakes). Owned by a lovely couple who were very helpful and their 2 dogs wander around the site.
