I booked while doing the camino. Good location but there was a group of young people making noise in the corridor and floor above until 4am. They were shouting and moving things around on the floor. The group had reserves the downstairs living room area ans they were very loud. When you walk 30km in the day, you just want to sleep at the end of the day. The beds were not comfortable and had no intimacy. There was no air in the room. The curtain shower dripped in the whole bathroom anytime someone took a shower. No information was given at the checkin (made through digital screen at entrance). Felt a bit impersonal. Hope this feedback can help to improve!

I went during the Europa league final, so certain things were probably different to the average experience. My main problem was the 12 bed dorm and my bed: 1. There were bed bugs (I live in an area with loads of mosquitoes and these bites lasted days and definitely not mosquitoes). 2. If you are going to massively overcharge (like everyone those few days) then at least get one extra person on to put on the bedsheets on. Check-in after 3pm is late. Perfectly located.

In a fancy area (5 mins from Guggenheim) looks like a hotel in the upper floors and the hostel on 1st floor (2nd for Americans cause of the whole ground floor being 0 floor thing). Stayed in a 6 bed mixed. 1 bathroom to share for everybody in the room, then 1 more bathroom in the hall for everybody in the floor to share. 1 usb (old school rectangle usb) plug at your bed. Then multiple (like 5 I think) plugs in one area in the room for all to duke it out for. Big lockers to fit a 50L bag. Buy a lock from them or bring your own lock with a medium size barrel (thickness of lock) because the thickness is what prevents the lock from being pushed in to turn to lock or unlock.

Worst hostel I’ve ever been to. it wasn’t clean, had to pay for towels, and if you want a locker, you need a padlock or have to buy on at 6euros. No curtains for beds. The kitchen wasn’t clean either, and the fridges were not big enough for all the people in the hostel. The one star is going to the location because it’s next to the Guggenheim museum and have nice restaurants around. Would not recommend it.

I neither got what was advertised nor what I expected for the price. The sauna is the only thing that might elevate this hostel above hostels I've been to - for half to two thirds of the price mind you - but it is in maintenance currently (I could not find any information on that on the web). The bedroom is worse than in many of the hostels for half the price I mentioned - from the looks but it also does not have the beds made, no power sockets, just one hidden USB plug, and no curtains in front of the bed. There is one bath for 14 people and it is very tight. The kitchen is average for a kitchen that doesn't only consist of a microwave. The receptionist does not speak English and there is a digital Check-in/out that is so badly executed that help is needed. Bilbao is also not amongst the nicest cities I've been to on this vacation. It has car-centric infrastructure and not many nice public places. I would only recommend coming here if you have events to attend or friends to meet and every other hostel and cheap hotel is booked out. When looking through the reviews I notice that the admins welcome positive feedback for the restaurant while saying to negative feedback that this is not the place to give this feedback (even though this hostel advertises with the restaurant). This makes it hard for me to trust their comments (also many of the promises that things are usually better are just wrong or I have very unlucky timing)

Was a nice hostel but more of a hotel with shared rooms. Was expecting a bit more of a social area. Still in a great location and the beds were comfortable and the usb and light even worked!

Poshtel is not posh, it's no better than your average hostel... It's worse because it pretending to be something it's not. The interior is initially hipster and chic, besides a few soft furnished chairs you quickly realise that much of the seating is unpractical and inaccessible. Tiny little stools or hard metal stools in the entrance way. The exposed brick is nice though ... We'd finished doing a section of the Camino and travelled to Bilbao. Having booked the week before, and tired from travel, we were figuring it out as we went along on the day. We used maps from the train station, get to the door of poshtel, my friend just tried the door then we read a sign about a code which reminded me of the message from when I booked. I was searching for it when the door buzzed us in. We walked in and my friend started doing the self checkin, the lady from the desk came out after a bit and asked "who booked" I said I did. She said "well why didn't you get the code out for the door", and I said I had been in the process of doing that. She continued 'helping' but also berating and sassing us. I said could she give us a break as we are tired from travelling. Once we'd checked in, we were split Into two rooms. Even though online it said my female friend and I were In a room together and male friend in another (as all that was left) the machine didn't split us like that. I was to be in the room by myself. I misread my room number as 1 (it was 11), I got into room 1 though and couldn't find my bed. The woman came back along with my friends who had been confused when I'd gotten in as they were actually room 1, so thought they must be elsewhere. The woman said "you are not in there, oh yeh, the door is broken". A ramble of other disappointments... You make your own bed, which is fine but you also do this at much cheaper hostels + not usually hotels. There are lockers but they only fit a certain size lock, My osprey padlock fits the hole but leaves too much depth that you can push the mechanism in and the inner part flips up opening the door anyway. So this means if you stay in room 1 - which is on the ground floor - your door doesn't lock and you most likely will need to buy a €6 lock from them (that hopefully can't be pushed in and opened.) There are uncovered wires sticking out the wall in room 1. Room 11 - a premium room - the only apparent difference was two private toilets in the room, which made little odds as it is shared with many other people anyway, so in my estimation less likely to get cleaned throughout the day. You don't get provided with towels. There is a terrace in between room 1 + 2, it has nowhere to sit and says do not leave clothes out, the courtyard has one broken bench with giant plant pots inside it. I later saw the staff member assisting a group of guys checking in on the self check in machine (oh which is the only option for checking in), she was making inappropriate comments such as "don't go falling in love" and zooming through the buttons with another group, rolling her eyes, with dismissive body language. There was a real lack of professionalism and understanding for what travellers and guests require, perhaps she wanted to be funny, but it was wearisome. The advertised sauna was out of use to which the staffs retort was "it's hot anyway". There are no spoons in the kitchen. I asked at the cafe "que es vegetarianio?" He replied "Nada" and I said oh great, a very weary traveller by this point, we headed out to the nearest supermarket. Positives There are usb chargers in the beds, whether they all work, I'm not sure. The location is decent, close to the airport bus + Guggenheim. The kitchen did actually have a little space in the fridge and stickers to label food, ours was still there in the morning which was a considerable win. To sum up, we stayed in some pilgrim albergues which were a third of the price, although basic had much more care. Would not recommend this lack of substance to anyone, didn't feel secure, rude staff and not conducive of a relaxing last night in Spain.
