How could one give anything but five stars all around to this place! So many delightful options and all delicious! You can’t go wrong. The only drawback for this early worm is that it doesn’t open until 730, but you have to assume that the bakers are getting started early w/ these delectable treats and are getting them out as fast as they can.

Google
Really enjoy having a bakery with lots of different options within walking distance. I usually get my favorite danish but I’m glad they rotate new items to try. Most items are vegetarian or vegan.

Google
Super cute worker owned bakery, specializing in chocolate (chock full of chocolaty filling), caramel croissants, flaky and buttery, lemon blueberry scones, cookies and artisan breads. 1st time here and we’re thrilled. Picked up bakery for our drive to Gooseberry Falls and then bike to and from Split Rock. Our reward for our work. Amazing treats and that bread, so delicious, red pepper and cheese with just the right spice. Highly recommend!

Google
Tiny storefront with a nice selection of breads and sweets. Large selection of vegan options. I had a peanut butter and chocolate crispy bar, and a banana oatmeal cookie, both delicious. Everything was clearly labeled with allergens. Busy on a weekday morning with only room for 3 or 4 people inside at a time, and there were people waiting outside for their turn. My only criticism would be that I wish they served coffee. We had to drive to another coffee shop about a mile away. I will definitely be stopping here regularly for baked goods.

Google
The best bakery on the North Shore! My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon it during a visit to Duluth. They have a very nice selection of baked goods. We love their chocolate croissants, ginger cookies, blueberry muffins and scones. We make a point of stopping in every time we are in the area. It was so nice to find a high quality bakery in Duluth.

Google
Positively Third Street Bakery is a hidden gem - it’s one of our favorite places to stop when we head up to Duluth. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Our kids especially enjoy free cookie day on Sundays. We’ve tried the bread and a variety of pastries and cookies. All of it has been fantastic!

Google
Awesome bakery. The blackbird and sourdough breads were delicious. Also the black bean brownie and ginger cookies are super tasty. Thanks for having awesome vegan options. We stopped in while traveling. We had to stop again on the way home for some treats to take back. We will be making this a regular stop when passing through Duluth.

Google
The best bakery I have been to in a LONG TIME. Our family tradition when traveling to northern Mn (few times a year) is that we ALWAYS stop at a bakery at the half way point. Tobies was our entire family’s special tradition but they let us down to many times so we needed a new bakery and we found it !!! I will be taking my family here for years and years to come. The customer service was amazing, it’s a small worker owned business and the food/ desserts were to die for! We came at the end of the day so the employee even gave us free samples. I am so glad she did because everything we got was great but they blew me away by far!! It is the cinnamon and sugar croissant muffin pictured!! The flourless chocolate cake took me back to my childhood neighbors brownies that I have never been able to find anywhere or create but I finally got to taste something VERY similar and it was phenomenal. Everything was amazing and I WILL be taking another trip to Duluth soon just to get to taste these amazing treats again! This is our new family spot! Thank you, 3rd St bakery and staff!

Yelp
Awesome mission and bakery. We make sure we stop every time we are in Duluth. Their campfire cookies are the best! Pepole are friendly and the store open to all.

Yelp
Very small, cute bakery tucked back of the lake and up the mountainside. I always mean to hit it but finally had the stomach space for some pastry and bread! The baker who checked me out was really friendly and happily answered my questions about availability and some day-old loaves (they have discounted day-olds!). Went in to get a baguette but it turns out they're an "occasional" item so I'd call ahead to ask. Ended up getting a couple things I'll note below. I'd probably put them around the quality Duluth's Best Bread but I like supporting a much more progressive place that gives back to the community. - An almond croissant that was solid for the price. Not mind-blowing, but wasn't too dense like a lot are. The flavor was really good. - A loaf of the day-old multigrain that was still excellent. Used it for toast and as a vessel for some A+ salmon dip from Northern Waters - Dog treats! It was neat seeing the fundraiser and always love getting a snack for the dog. They're not smelly, made from simple ingredients, and the pup loved them

Yelp
If you are in Duluth and want great cookies, pastries, or bread - come here. I had an almond croissant that had layers for days with a nice balance of butter pastry crust and almond flavor. A cookie for breakfast dessert as well that had peanut butter, oats, and chocolate all in one. Flatter with a nice crunch edge and a nice moist chewy interior.

Yelp
So incredibly yummy!! Got a variety of baked goods and every single item was devoured!! Recommend!!

Yelp
Friendly service and always delicious baked goods! The shop itself is super cute too.

Yelp
Fantastic little breakfast and lunch spot. Hot and cold healthy drinks, super healthy ingredients and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I come to Duluth a handful of times a year and always like trying somewhere new. With its bright ambiance and ample selection, Positively 3rd Street Bakery was a delightful find this visit!

Yelp
Super cute bakery in Duluth! Was recommended to us by a friend, and it definitely did not disappoint! The baked goods made for such a yummy breakfast, and the workers were so nice! The only downside is that you have to take the items to go, as there is nowhere to sit.

Yelp
This is a tiny, worker-owned bakery in a residential neighborhood of Duluth. It's worth a visit given its freshness, ample number of vegan options and friendly, anti-establishment ethos. The banookie cookie ($1.85) is tasty and vegan by default. It features subtle hints of banana, but isn't too sweet and tastes great. The skidmark cookie ($1.85) is also vegan and a rich, chocolate-obsessed creation. I loved it. Lastly, the peanut butter rice crispy bar ($2) is vegan and tastes great with nice texture and chewiness. Pizza Luce offers a similar peanut butter chocolate bar, but it's not nearly as good (and it's twice the price). Visit Positively 3rd Street for delicious, cheap and awesome baked goods.

Yelp
Lots of butter, crisp and flaky, fresh!!! The fruit cheese danish was the best I've ever tasted. The oatmeal cookie was okay, not a huge amount of flavor. The prices are fair. Duluth is fortunate to have a scratch bakery in its mist.

Yelp
I stopped by for a coffee and pastry before a hike. They were one of the only local shops open on Easter. I was disappointed to hear they didn't have any coffee, but that disappointment was short lived because of their delicious raspberry cream cheese danish. Whew, what a treat! They had a wide selection with reasonable prices and a friendly staff. I highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp
super cute little bakery, and i love their openness on protecting trans kids and other LGBTQ+ matters. i love their gluten free Chocolate Chip Chookies! had them served at my grad party this past year and they were a big hit. the flourless chocolate cake is also incredibly good! (while i'm writing this review however, it wouldn't hurt for them to have more gf options!)
google avatar

Yelp
Best place with wholesome local ingredients and a great message! A MUST STOP for those visiting in duluth. Mornings seem best when they are fully stocked!
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Everyone is super friendly and their everything bagels are the best. Such a cute place. Oh, black bean brownies are delicious too. Everything is, actually. The goddess bars... all of it. Just go.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was fantastic! The staff was awesome! We aren't from the area but have found a great little breakfast spot when we pass through!

Laurel B.

Yelp
Thunder cookies and a combination chocolate chip chocolate peanut butter cookie were very good. However the star of my purchases was the pecan caramel croissant. It was a morning bun on steroids - a wonderful treat. I purchased the last one around 12 PM but there were plenty of other treats to buy. If Duluth was closer this bakery would be a frequent stop. Staff were helpful.

Yelp
After stopping at our first bakery in Duluth, it may not have been fair to stop here as it was going to be a tough act to follow. None the less we had some items that we were looking for and were excited to check them out. Based on the reviews, we were looking forward to trying their Thunder Cookies and their Caramel Croissant. I love caramel and I love a good croissant. That just sounds like baked love to me. Well when we arrived shortly after 10am, they were out of their caramel croissants. That put kind of a downer on our visit as those were high on our list. On the bright side there is a deal on their cookies so we picked up some additional cookies to make us feel better. We enjoyed the other options they had as their breads looked good especially the focaccia however knowing we had lots of food to eat, we were content with our cookies. The cookies were really good. In my opinion its tough to have a bad cookie. The Thunder cookies have peanut butter which is always good In a cookie. We also picked up some chocolate chip cookies which were also very good. I feel this review is a little incomplete since we did not get to try our croissants however next time we are in town we have made a note to stop here first. Better planning hopefully results is more goodies for us next time.

Yelp
Just the best bakery in Duluth. No seating really, but a great stop in the morning. I've had a few items but the scones...THE SCONES. If you come to Duluth a lot and haven't tried this, strongly consider expanding your routine to inclued this place.
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
The customer service is the reason for this review and only two stars. We did try some of the baked goods but the selection was not what we saw online. I was disappointed to go into a bakery and have the staff show such little attention and enthusiasm. The cookie was decent but the croissant had seen better days.
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Best baked goods in Duluth, MN. Period. Hands down. Do not bother going to any other bakery.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Super friendly & prompt greeting! Delicious cookies too. I got the chocolate cookie with a chocolate chip one on top (not sure of the name) and an iced sugar cookie. Normally I'm not a huge fan of icing or chocolate (weird, I know) but they were great! Ya gotta stop in & give this place a try

Kathleen H.

Yelp
Stopped here for cookies on our way out of Duluth and loved it! We tried six of the varieties and all were great! Bakery is cute and staff was very friendly. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
I'll keep it short and sweet: the blueberry scones?! A MUST! i'm from california and the north shore of lake superior has my heart- so duluth is a place i have been stopping by often. this bakery is lovely! a small local business i love supporting. the peach bars and yummy and the apple turnovers are delicious! 5 stars all around! i'll be back soon!!

Yelp
Had a Cardamom Latte...my Finnish ancestors would be proud. Delicious. Subtly spicy. Tasted like growing up. Also, had a smoked fish and kimchi sandwich...my ancestors would be confused, not their palette... but it was mine! So good! Highly recommend
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
Great little bakery. I only get the thunder cookies which kick ass. Only thing that would be better is a white chocolate fudge thunder cookie...hint hint... Kids love it and my go to place before work. Great service as well.
google avatar

Jamie O.

Yelp
Excellent bakery! Tried the thunder cookie, chocolate chip cookie, pain au chocolat, and one of the bars. Everything was so good. I can't wait to try the breads next! Staff was extremely welcoming and explained the various baked goods and made great recommendations. Will definitely be back!

J A.

Yelp
Expensive prices, but high quality products. Only one type of sugar free cookies available. Disappointing in this day and age of supposedly better healthy eating options. Sugar is a stimulant which kills people.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow. This bakery shop looks very unassuming from the outside in the middle of a neighborhood on a one way street. It reminded me of a bodega. Once we were inside it still reminded me of a bodega. Lol. The treats are on display in large glass cases for all to see. My baby girl loves cookies and these cookies were huge. We got a couple of small peanut butter cookies, a couple of large chocolate chip, and a hybrid cookie of chocolate mixed with chocolate chip. All the cookies were on point and we all tore them things up. These cookies are organic, soft, and delicious. Come by and show this bakery love because they deserve every bit of it. If you come to Duluth and want some sweets for very reasonable prices; you've got to come here. We're going to drop by and get some more cookies before we leave town.

Yelp
They make some sort of magic caramel walnut croissants that literally taste like heaven in the mouth. I think these are only available certain days/times, so call ahead. It will change your life.

Lisa E.

Yelp
What a terrific bakery. Best bagels, so soft and tasty. The babka is almost too beautiful to eat. Friendly staff too. Stop by when in Duluth.
google avatar

Cailie E.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised to come across this bakery on my recent trip to Duluth. The bakery itself has an inviting aesthetic. Every staff member I came across was friendly and welcoming. The baked goods were phenomenal and at an incredibly affordable price. They offer several options for those with food allergies. Everything was tasted fresh. This bakery shows creativity in their work, offering done very unique items. I was so impressed by the bars I had purchased that I went back right away the next day. This bakery was added to our "must visit" list for the next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Love the monster cookies here and bread this place is amazing. A most place in duluthmn.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
I became a fan of this bakery many years ago, while a student at UMD. Great to see this legendary business still around. If you enjoy eating cookies, then you really should stop here. The best! Personally, I'm a fan of their "Thunder" cookies. (Whole wheat flour, chocolate chips, peanut butter... and the label says "adventure".) And the "Mocha Madness" cookies (Whole wheat flour, cocoa, chocolate chips, coffee... and "love"). But they also have wonderful breads as well. The cookies make great gifts..... or great for on the road too! "Don't think twice, it's alright"...

Yelp
Absolutely amazing vegan options, wonderful staff, and superb environment. I would recommend wholeheartedly.

Twin Cities Girl 2.

Yelp
The best granola I've ever had. You need to try it. Make your own parfait and enjoy every bite.
google avatar

Yelp
This is an absolute must visit if you are in Duluth! I'm new to town and every time I stop in I find something new to LOVE! Their croutons are a hidden gem and must buy. The cookies are out of this world and of course the caramel croissant and scones are amazing. I can't imagine buying something that isn't delicious from this place...employee owned and everything is made with LOVE.
google avatar

Katherine G.

Yelp
They now take credit cards and have a couple treats for those who are gluten intollerant or avoiding gluten(not certified gf).
google avatar

Danny L.

Yelp
Everything is SUPER fresh. You know when you eat something and you just know it's been made with fresh ingredients? This is that. You can also tell everything is homemade - nothing mass produced. So so good - we will definitely be back for the sweet treats and for the delicious loaves of bread!

Tina H.

Yelp
Made with the finest ingredients and love. Thank you to talented bakers and staff for an exceptional bakery experience. Sourdough and Old World rye bread are magical. Scones with fresh fruit, ambrosia. Chocolate croissants make me weep with joy. Duluth, you are a great town with the privilege of having this culinary jewel in your crown. See you again soon!

Chloe L.

Yelp
I had bought this bakeries goods before at other places andI have never had a bad experience with their food, it has always been good. However all of the times I have gone into the store the person there was always short and impatient. I wouldn't go into the business again I will just continue to buy their products elsewhere.
google avatar

Chandler G.

Yelp
This bakery is doing everything right about operating through the pandemic. Their many options for bread are ALL good. All of their cookies are delicious. For Mother's Day they had flourless chocolate cake in the shape of a heart! How much more cute can you get?

Alexandra B.

Yelp
I always free welcome at 3rd Street. The bakers are friendly and like to catch up. The croissants are the best in town, especially the chocolate ones. And the variety of cookies is great - there are about 15 different kinds. I can always find something depending on my mood. I appreciate the beliefs of 3rd Street, too. It makes me proud of the Hillside neighborhood to see a business that doesn't just want profits. 3rd Street openly and actively supports justice for people misserved by our systems.

Sophie R.

Yelp
Five stars for funky fastidiously freakin good sweets. I love how the ingredients are shown transparently. So many organic options. Twice as much flavor and a little less guilt. The options are so creative and many items you will never find anywhere else. I loved it!!
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
Have not had a good experience recently with this bakery. Goes bad way too quickly before I can finish most of the bread loves. Can not recommend :(
google avatar

Sam B.

Yelp
Thanks for the carrot cake for my wedding. Y'all. Shout out Cody. These ppl know how to make a cake. That's really all I have to say about that. Here's some heart emojis . Hopefully that reads on your device.
google avatar

Caitlin K.

Yelp
Best bread and cookies in town! They are always so nice and helpful when I stop in, with great suggestions every time! They also have some great seasonal items and flavors. Loving the cranberry bars this fall!
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Best cookies you will ever have in your life, guaranteed! The thunder cookie is a total classic, and my absolute favorite. Such a cute little neighborhood spot, the only trouble I've had with this bakery is that there isn't always the best options for parking, but the walk to the bakery is worth it for the deliciousness you will experience upon arrival!

Ron S.

Yelp
Wasn't a fan. Prices didn't match up to quality at all. Wouldn't recommend. Should've went to the grocery store up the street.
google avatar

Casey H.

Yelp
Best chocolate croissants I've ever had! Made fresh daily and so delicious! 10/10 would recommend trying this place out.
