Post-Plaza Hotel & Grand Café

I had my wedding night here years ago, and I keep returning because of the amazing service staff, talented bartenders like Sergiu, and the stunning old/modern interior. Not to mention they have incredible dishes coming out of the kitchen that change often and never seem to disappoint. I definitely recommend this place!

Our stay did not live up to our expectations. Al though it was just for one night on Boxing Day we feel we must share this. We arrived at 23.00 h and wanted to go to sleep soon afterwards. The room was unfortunately just above the kitchen and its staff exit. The staff was cleaning and we could hear everything loud noises such as clattering iron, rolling containers, machines switcht on and off, a generator? It was so loud it was taking off loud voices until 0200h in de early morning with staff leaving for home.During the night more noise of rolling containers and an iron fence getting unlocked and locked up again. You can imagine we did not sleep well. We mentioned it to the receptionist when we checked out but there was no response. Next time be aware to ask where the room is situated.

It's an excellent, stylish place with a very pleasant atmosphere.

Stayed here for business. On arrival was advised that there were 2 bookings. Cancelled second room. Was offered partial refund but have never received it and had no further contact from hotel. Awful customer service. ||Almost 2 years later and still no correspondence or response. Appalling service and hotel.

Good hotel in the city centre - easy walkable to the main sights of Leeuwarden. The service is welcoming and accommodating. The area of improvement should be in breakfast, to mention a few: not enough selections of bread (no rye bread on offer that's a regional product of Fryslan), no fresh vegetables (only as a mix as salad), only two options for vegetables (cucumber and tomato) - on my opinion the current breakfast doesn't worth 20+ Euro

Good location in the middle of the city. Monumental building with great character. A few oddities: The double beds are actually two single beds, which causes a gap in the middle. Breakfast was a bit oddly spaced out. Lots of stairs on each floor and not all floors were reachable by stairs. The service was great, though one of the serving girls managed to, not once, not twice, but three times in one evening tip over her serving tray filled with wine and beer... I hope she was new, because that was a bit of a hindrance, luckily nobody got seriously wet or injured. Great food - dessert as well. Portions could have been bigger, but we still filled up more than plenty.

It's very spacious for wheelchairs and hoisting, the legs for perfectly under the bed too. The bathroom is huge and the sink is lowered with all in room accessibility- it also has a really great feature that I've never seen before- the red emergency pull cord is attached all around the wall about a foot up from the floor, so if anyone falls they can reach it from all areas! What an amazing idea! The bedroom is also on the ground floor which is the first hotel that's done this. I LOVE HOLLAND.

Until a copple of years ago, sleeping in Leeuwarden meant sleeping in my mothers guestroom. Times have changed so i had to book a hotel in order to visit “Bosk” and “Paradys”. I rememberd from old times the post office so when i saw that it had transformed in a four star luxury hotel i booked it rightaway (even without checking tripadvisor which I always do). It turned out great. Very friendly staff and a beautiful restored buiding with decent bedrooms. Since it was only for one night we booked the smallest (and cheapest) junior comfort room but that was fine. They only point of attention is the fact that there is little space to put down your clothes. There’s only one chair and no table. On the other hand: there are lot’s of hooks to hang them and the excellent (rain)shower is sort of a ballroom in it’s own.|We haven’t tested the restaurant, although we did have a beer at the brasserie, but looking at all the happy people in the sold out restaurant i think it’s quite good. We dined at the neigbours. Steef’s restaurant, pretty new but really amazing. Definitely Michelin quality.|Well, looking for a good hotel in Leeuwarden this is the right place to go. It’s right in the heart of the city. Everything you want to do is at walking distance.

On a discovery trip of Fryslan and Groningen we decided to stay in the Grand Hotel Post Plaza in Leeuwarden. It was a very good choice. The location was perfect to discover the old city centre and to do some shopping. The hotel staff were a combination of efficiency and friendliness. The room was spacious and well equipped. An air conditioning might have been welcome but I can imagine that so high up north they are not really used to the heatwave we were having. All in all, this hotel is recommended if you are about to discover the city. Great value for money!

A recent return trip showed good consistency in the quality of the room, the service and the comfort of the hotel. The main difference was the improvement in service in the cafe'/bar. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy a quiet break with a good selection of wines, cocktails and comfortable seating.

We had a weekend trip here around Christmas and I have to say the hotel was really great, especially when you consider the price we paid for the stay. The rooms were good, the staff friendly, the breakfast delicious and there was a more than decent wellness & fitness centre there. What more could one ask for.
