Post-Plaza Hotel & Grand Café

The best Hotel in the North of the Nederlands. Service is impeccable. Quality is always present in every detail. Perfectly Located. The staff a unique combination of high professionalism and Friendliness. I've travelled for years, and lived in London, worked at 5/7 star hotels. I've also stayed at The Post Plaza for many years whenever I'm in town and I can say that they are HIGHLY recommended when you combine all of these points together.

This is only for the food which was decent but the service was awful. Bringing the wrong bottle of wine and ignoring us when we told them it was not what we ordered. When we finished a course, they took away two of the eight plates and then started to ignore us. The food took ages to arrive, about 45 minutes between starter and main course. When we wanted to leave the waiter told us to stay and have a further chat. What?

We had the best stay at Post-Plaza. We got in after a busy travel day and had dinner at the Grand Cafe. It was the best meal we had on our trip (& we even ate a Michelin star restaurant in Rotterdam). The staff in the restaurant were friendly, and the 3 course meal was fantastic. Everyone at the hotel was lovely. The decor was fantastic, and the rooms were spacious. Great location!!!! Highly recommend.

Building is just beautiful. Rooms look very nice and not that expensive. Beds however are very soft, you sink in it and the towels are like sandpaper which brings down the rating. Rest is like any big hotel, very nice

I had my wedding night here years ago, and I keep returning because of the amazing service staff, talented bartenders like Sergiu, and the stunning old/modern interior. Not to mention they have incredible dishes coming out of the kitchen that change often and never seem to disappoint. I definitely recommend this place!

Our stay did not live up to our expectations. Al though it was just for one night on Boxing Day we feel we must share this. We arrived at 23.00 h and wanted to go to sleep soon afterwards. The room was unfortunately just above the kitchen and its staff exit. The staff was cleaning and we could hear everything loud noises such as clattering iron, rolling containers, machines switcht on and off, a generator? It was so loud it was taking off loud voices until 0200h in de early morning with staff leaving for home.During the night more noise of rolling containers and an iron fence getting unlocked and locked up again. You can imagine we did not sleep well. We mentioned it to the receptionist when we checked out but there was no response. Next time be aware to ask where the room is situated.

Until a copple of years ago, sleeping in Leeuwarden meant sleeping in my mothers guestroom. Times have changed so i had to book a hotel in order to visit “Bosk” and “Paradys”. I rememberd from old times the post office so when i saw that it had transformed in a four star luxury hotel i booked it rightaway (even without checking tripadvisor which I always do). It turned out great. Very friendly staff and a beautiful restored buiding with decent bedrooms. Since it was only for one night we booked the smallest (and cheapest) junior comfort room but that was fine. They only point of attention is the fact that there is little space to put down your clothes. There’s only one chair and no table. On the other hand: there are lot’s of hooks to hang them and the excellent (rain)shower is sort of a ballroom in it’s own.|We haven’t tested the restaurant, although we did have a beer at the brasserie, but looking at all the happy people in the sold out restaurant i think it’s quite good. We dined at the neigbours. Steef’s restaurant, pretty new but really amazing. Definitely Michelin quality.|Well, looking for a good hotel in Leeuwarden this is the right place to go. It’s right in the heart of the city. Everything you want to do is at walking distance.

Great breakfast. Great shower.|Good airco and good bed.|Enough place and electricity in the room.||Just the TV in a closet is a bit clumsy.|Also it is a pricy place, but I think it is worth it.||Also the location is good as you can just walk outside and have many restaurants and shops nearby in 1000 metres.

On a discovery trip of Fryslan and Groningen we decided to stay in the Grand Hotel Post Plaza in Leeuwarden. It was a very good choice. The location was perfect to discover the old city centre and to do some shopping. The hotel staff were a combination of efficiency and friendliness. The room was spacious and well equipped. An air conditioning might have been welcome but I can imagine that so high up north they are not really used to the heatwave we were having. All in all, this hotel is recommended if you are about to discover the city. Great value for money!

A recent return trip showed good consistency in the quality of the room, the service and the comfort of the hotel. The main difference was the improvement in service in the cafe'/bar. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy a quiet break with a good selection of wines, cocktails and comfortable seating.

We had a weekend trip here around Christmas and I have to say the hotel was really great, especially when you consider the price we paid for the stay. The rooms were good, the staff friendly, the breakfast delicious and there was a more than decent wellness & fitness centre there. What more could one ask for.
