Postmasters Kitchen + Bar

We had a 6pm seating. Greeted by our lovely waitress and shown to our seats. The atmosphere is cosy and warm. The bones of the old building were still there, by way of walls being retained. This gives you an idea of how rooms were originally configured, and this layout gives multiple dining areas. The food choices on offer were all amazing. We had definitely filled our happy bellies before we left to go home. Highly recommend.

The most beautiful view of Arrowtown from seats of the restaurant. We tried sticky date pudding. It was fabulous. Homemade with heaps of date. Katrina served us well. She always wears a serene smile. She is a gem in Arrowtown and a great asset to the restaurant. Everyone loves her!

I came back to Postmasters because my first visit was amazing, and I’m happy to say this time was just as good! We had the baked camembert, risotto, brisket, and mulled wine, and everything was delicious! Booking a table was easy, our special request was taken care of with no problems, and our waitress, Diva, was fantastic! I’d definitely recommend Postmasters and can’t wait to return next time I’m in Arrowtown.

After a fun afternoon goldpanning just across the road, we stumbled across Postmasters. It looked so cute from the outside that we knew we had to try it. It was dinner time and we were starving, but we didn’t have a booking. Luckily, we had come quite early (around 5 PM), and they were able to fit us in. Inside, it was just as charming as it looked. We loved the cozy, welcoming vibe. The food absolutely blew us away, definitely a highlight of our Arrowtown trip. The garlic prawns were incredible, and I had a mojito mocktail that was simply divine. The service was equally amazing; everyone was so friendly and attentive. Couldn’t recommend this place more if you’re visiting Arrowtown.

I visited The Postmaster in Arrowtown and tried the sticky date pudding — and let me say, I always order sticky date pudding when it’s on the menu, so I don’t say this lightly: this was hands down the best I’ve ever had. It was served perfectly warm, with a beautifully crunchy exterior and a moist, sticky center that was absolute perfection. The caramel sauce and ice cream were the ideal pairing — a true symphony of flavor and texture. The staff were equally impressive, welcoming us with no reservation and making us feel right at home. The setting is charming and full of character, making the entire experience one to remember. Highly recommended — especially if you’re a dessert lover. Do not leave without trying that pudding!

Great food, great drinks, and stunning mountain views! Diva was a wonderful host—super friendly, attentive, and her customer service really stood out. Highly recommend!

Amazing restaurant (in a cute little village). The food was reaally great (and I’m saying that as a French), we ordered the fish of the day, the mussels, the risotto and the beef brisket, and all of us loved every bite of each meal. The desserts were okay. Might be expensive without First Table. Anyway I highly recommend it, we spend a really great evening in this restaurant :)

Great feed and nice fire. Good place to warm up if you ride into town. Mulled wine hit the spot!
