Google
Delicious Norwegian food dishes, friendly service, and amazing atmosphere! I recommend the fish soup - would have tried more but didn't have room! Had no wait for a table and they were open until about 10pm even on a Sunday. Google said 12am, so we missed out the night before but still open quite late for a bite after sightseeing.

Google
Lovely meal and friendly staff. The fish soup was gorgeous - generous amount of prawns and mussels. The fried salmon and cucumber salad is delicious and refreshing. Lovely spicy warm apple cake to finish. Nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and attentive waiter and chef. Unlike the seafront fish restaurants you get a good amount of vegetables too!

I ordered fish soup - and the soup had absolutely no fish in it, only shrimps and a few mussels. Fish was mentioned as one of the ingredients in the menu. I brought this up with the waiter, who claimed that fish soup from Bergen should not have fish in it. He asked if I was from Bergen, and was rather rude when I said no. «So you will not know!», he stated. I was rather put back by this behavior - and this is what makes me give only one star. Selling fish soup with no fish is like cheating your customers, I think. And yes, the recipes for Bergen fish soup do indeed include fish!

Anything except for the interior was poor. We waited a long time for our order, salmon was very dry, “cucumber salad” was a few slices of cucumber and potatoes were cold. Would not recommend. Not a good quality for the price.

Google
unfortunately salmon was extremely dry, cucumber salad was just a few slices of cucumber... Do not recommend, definitely over priced. Nice interior.

Excellent food and staff! Had the chicken salad and fish soup, both of which were extremely tasty! Must visit if you’re in Bergen.

Yelp
Tender steak. Delicious schnitzel. Beautiful presentation. Rustic, tasteful ambiance. Attentive service. A quiet oasis in the craziness of the city centre. The desserts (cake) were the unexpected highlight. We're so glad we found this place.

Yelp
I really don't like giving low reviews, but I got food poisoning from this restaurant (I think from the prawn salad) so I thought I'd caution others from getting this item. The other food tasted great (the schnitzel in particular) and the service was great. It has a nice cave-like look inside. But at the very least steer clear of the prawn salad.

Yelp
The best food in Norway! The ambience, food, service, location and even the venue itself! This incredible experience was worth flying to Bergen.

Yelp
Excellent food and service in an unique environment. Maybe the best restaurant experience I've had in Bergen, although it is quite expensive.

Yelp
Absolutely the best meal I have ever had in Europe! My husband and I tried two different items on the menu. I went for the set menu and chose three items from their list of six ( I knew six would be too much food) ox tail for my main meal :lobster on a potato cake "heavenly" ( honest to god it was incredible) :a dark chocolate dessert. The ox tail was not my usual choice but it was very good: appetizer was SPECTACULAR: dessert was good as well but I was full at this point. My husband had a duck appetizer which was very good : lamb as a main course which was GREAT melt in your mouth and flavorful: Apple crumb for dessert which he couldn't stop talking about all night. I highly recommend this restaurant in Bergen Norway. It is past the McDonald's before the hot dog stand and you can easily miss this hole in the wall if you aren't careful. It would be difficult to get to the seating area if you have difficulty with steps but we enjoyed the ambience.

Yelp
My wife and I had an amazing meal. The dining room is down in a cozy cellar (my recent knee surgery made the stairs a challenge). The care and attention to detail in every dish was impressive. We had the consomme as an appetizer--it must have taken many hours to prepare, with numerous finely chopped ingredients. The deer for the main course was very tender and flavorful, accompanied by some well-chosen purees and an excellent potato dish. My dessert, the baked alaska, was the best I have ever had, and one of the finest desserts I have ever tasted. Combine the food quality and atmosphere with gracious service (including a great Rhone wine recommendation) and the summary is an outstanding meal, definitely worthy of a Michelin star.

Yelp
We had very bad service, having to wait 80 minutes for the starter, mushroom risotto, which like our main course, had been ordered in advance of attending the restaurant. We then had a further long delay for the main course. We would not go again.

Yelp
We heard about this restaurant from a Bergen local on a plane ride to the city and were super excited to try it after reading good reviews on TripAdvisor. To our dismay, the experience was below average. For the money you'll pay for a meal here, the quality of food is just average (as well as the service). I came with two girlfriends and we inquired about a course meal. After agreeing to do a 3-course menu (our calculations off of the prices provided made it a better deal), we tried a lovely appetizer (the risotto and the crab salad are lovely), an okay main (halibut was high quality, but the spices/flavors left something to be desired... had to request salt), and a below average dessert (they gave us some strawberry mousse with crumble topping that tasted okay, but you could make it at home... it was obvious because the mousse had cream cheese chunks that weren't fully blended in). The end of the meal came, and the server overcharged us relative to what prices she'd initially provided and refused to believe that we were correct. We avoided making a scene, but I was highly disappointed in this experience. To be fair, quality of ingredients and atmosphere were nice, but you'll overpay for what you get here.
