This is a small garden with play area for kids. One can have a very nice view of the city from here.

This is such a great place to wander, take a deep breath, and smell the roses. A quick getaway in the middle of the city.

Great view of San Francisco. A nice place to enjoy your coffee that you may grab a few streets below. No facilities at the spot and not a good choice for rainy weather, the trail will be muddy.

A hidden gem. Beautiful garden!

If you have a plot at this place, you will see that there's no "community" in the garden. They constantly hassle you and threatened to take your plot away and give it to someone else without asking what your circumstances are. It's a ruthless edgy cold San Francisco competitive little hell, displaying no community whatsoever, and tons of competition. Sad that.

Google
"Facilities" and "Service" don't make sense to review for this place, but "Appeal" does. The appeal is amazing: wonderful views of Twin Peaks above the Mission, some views of the downtown skyline (albiet a bit blocked by power lines). The garden itself is cool too.

Perfect spot to watch the sunset amongst the community garden squares just bursting with new life. Quiet and serene. Quite the uphill hike to get there but definitely worth it.

5 star view. Nice little gem tucked away in the hills. Great spot to daydream as the fog rolls in ✨ ☁️

Yelp
Happened to be in the neighborhood and Googled/Yelped "things to do" and this little gem popped up. It's right next to McKinley Park - we briefly strolled the park and there wasn't much there. Glad the community garden made up for it. It's a small garden, but we still spent a good 20 minutes there, roaming around. There are two picnic tables close to the entrance, so feel free to bring a snack to enjoy (kind of wished the picnic tables were on the other side, where you'll have nice views of the city). Saw pumpkins, succulents, and other varieties of fruits, veggies, and unknown plants. Towards the back side of the garden are some really nice views of the city, especially on a clear blue sky day. I must have missed the roosters as a few reviewers mentioned them (or perhaps they went into hibernation for the winter). It wasn't overly crowded - just one or two other parties were there during our walk. Overall, it's a quaint little spot to take a walk or stop to have a bite. The higher elevation of the garden provides a lovely view of SF. Parking wasn't bad as we parked in front of McKinley Park - think it shouldn't take too long to find street parking as well. It's nice that this place is open to the public - don't go picking stuff out of the garden!

Yelp
A stunning community garden hidden amongst the streets of Potrero Hill! I found this little gem while taking a walk in nearby Mckinley Park. It's a small garden compromised of many different flowers, fruits, and vegetables. While walking through, you are sure to see beautiful sunflowers, roses, succulents, blackberries, tomatoes, limes, kale, and so much more! Your eyes will light up from the vast array of colorful beauty. The space is peaceful and I only encountered a few locals in the garden while I was there. In the back of the garden, there's a small shed that occupies chickens and livestock. If you are looking to rent a space to grow your own garden, the waitlist is quite long and could take up to a year for a space to become available. Some gardens are open which allows you to get up close and personal. I saw a photographer in the garden snapping all kinds of pictures. There are signs posted asking that you do not touch or steal any of the plants in the garden. However, a little smelling ain't never hurt nobody! Go ahead and smell those beautiful roses! There are two tables and a side bench where you can relax, have lunch, or simply just take in the view. Speaking of views, did I mention that this garden offers the most beautiful view of the city? It's located high on the hill, making it the perfect spot to capture the lovely city down below. There are a few parking spots located right in front and plenty of street parking available right next to the park. This garden is truly a breath of fresh air and the perfect place to clear your mind and to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy city.

Yelp
Beautiful views. Pack a lunch. There is picnic bench for people to eat there. Throw away your own trash!

Yelp
Gorgeous gardens of kale, freesia and other fruits and vegetables, this Community Garden's a neighborhood labor of love. My only complaint: The pen where the 3 roosters are kept is far too small. It might be large enough for 1 but it's cruel to keep such big birds pent up in a tight space. I hope a neighbor in charge of the garden will change this asap.

Yelp
What a lovely garden for checking on the pulse of Nature. You get to see so much ... See my pictures. As a practitioner of Life, I hope to engage in many practices that bring me into the present moment. One such practice is to walk in this park at the end of my work day. No use to drive home from where I work. Better to walk through the Potrero Hill neighborhood and to call "home" ... like my sister. And have a chat whilst noting what's new today in the realm of nature. It's a great place to have a picnic dinner with a fine view. Dress warmly most days as the prevailing westerly winds can have their way with the beholder of nature's beauty.

Yelp
What a wonderful and organic gem perched right off of the 101, it is obvious that everything is taken care for with careful thought and appreciation for the beautiful plants inside. The sun was out and made for a perfect day to go to a park but I'd wanted to see this garden for some time and decided to make the trek. The history of the garden is what's most interesting, I guess a woman once herded goats and would not move with the expansion of the freeways. She was one tough cookie and didn't want to see materialistic progress. And it gets better; she got bailed out by a burlesque dancer for a citation fee. So the garden's got character. Love it! It rests on the hillside and as soon as you walk in you are immediately greeted with the warmth of someone's back yard. More like 50 backyards. Being in such a populated city where this is non-existent; this is a perfect spot for those with a natural knack of a green thumb and want space. Each plot is very unique and no two are alike. There are mature Dwarf Orange and Lemon trees so I'm guessing some people have had plots for quite some time if they're producing fruit. There was a plot with a Bird of Paradise-did I really see that!?! I figured BOP would only survive in a greenhouse or inside of a house and did not expect to see it....flowering! Well done! Vegetables far and wide, rose bushes and a trellis. Oh my, I am so happy the gate was unlocked and there is a bench because I could sit there for hours taking in everyone's beautiful plants, dreaming about my own little space and what I would do with it. I do have to make a special note to the owner of the Gnomes...this simply would not and could not be a garden without having a gnome of some kind. Yes they scare the daylights out of me....yes I have one on my porch....they are a necessity and I applaud you. The waiting list is massive and takes a couple of years for your name to move up on the list. Normally I'd say try another garden but the view is amazing and the location is ideal for all day sun. A true delight for anyone who enjoys plants; I am sending off an email right now to be number 87 on the list.

Yelp
I love this garden. It's beautiful. It's a unique view of the city. You can hear the freeway down the hill from here, but it's still tranquil. There are bees and the people who have plots here are good dedicated gardeners who use their spaces with amazing creativity and uniqueness. Some have lots of flowers for bouquets, one plot has just one gigantic Chyote vine, some have bountiful arugula and greens, some plots have roses. I come here after climbing up a steep hill to escape work and relax. I love to look at the bees that live in the hive. There's a picnic table you can sit upon. It's a respite from other parks where there are kids, dogs, and homeless guys everywhere. I love Potrero Hill Community Garden!

Yelp
One of SF's best "community gardens" -- plots where you can raise your own green things free for all on San Francisco city vacant land . This one is by a park and has a fantastic view, plus a small tool shed. The gate is always open so you can take a garden / urban archeology tour 24/7. People have cordoned off little plots with fences, gates, ground cover and shrubs, and they are growing everything from flowers and decorative plants to squash, lettuce and artichokes. Weeds are a popular theme. For design consistency and quality of work it looks like a backwoods redneck trailer park after the tornado. But it's still very cool. This one has a 2-year waiting list. Others throughout the city are open and ready for your tomatoes.

Yelp
I am so happy this place exists in my neighborhood. My partner and I just bought a condo a few blocks away and while owning something is nice, our green thumbs are sad that a garden is not part of the equation. We put ourselves on the 2 year waiting list for a plot and for now we will enjoy helping others maintain their plots and enjoying the community spirit!

Yelp
This is the most peaceful place in the City. The local community has done a great job.

Yelp
Wow a garden in San Francisco way too cool. Nice tomatoes and other great veggies some chickens too very organic. It's wells taken care of and each person is assigned a spot to keep well of and make sure weeds don't grow. On a sunny day you get an awesome view nice and peaceful. I was given a tomato to try I bet it taste really good. For all the people that created this place and maintain it great job and wish I could give it more stars. Great place!!

Yelp
Where's got a great view of the city and an amazing garden? This place. One of my favorite Sunday morning things to do is to grab brunch at Just for You and burn off 1/10th of my breakfast walking up, up, up hill to this amazing community garden. It's a great walk for catching up with a close friend but also feeling the burn a little bit. The garden itself is super quiet and tranquil and has some amazing views of the city. There are beautiful rose blooms and tons of flowers depending on the season. An amazing community space.

Yelp
I grew up a little more that a few blocks away from here and would always come here to have some peace and quite, especially during my rebellious teenage years, when the world hated me, this was my place to sit. There are great views here day and night, interesting plants to look at and room to plant your own. I always wanted to start up my own plot, but just never found the time / energy / motivation. This is a great little place in San Francisco where time seems to stand still.

Yelp
I came here frequently when I lived around the corner. It's great to visit the manicured park , then the open greenbelt of huge trees, then the wild flower garden. The view from the garden is incredible, and the smell is generally rather nice as well. Horrifically, I once saw a young man peeing in here on the path. So gardeners, please be aware.

Yelp
Lovely, well-upkept, great view, and always open! (I hate when "community" gardens are locked all the time). I love to wander through here and just breathe in deeply and relax. It is a gorgeous, peaceful place full of happy, growing things.

Yelp
Friends of ours have a plot here. It's so fun and great for the kids. We loved seeing all that food being grown and even had a family picnic. What a great spot and so good to see the food being grown right here in our great city.
