Nice intimate atmosphere and the servers are très sympa. I truly enjoyed my dining experience. I heard that they have one of the best espresso martinis so I ordered that. For dinner, I had the hanger steak (onglet de boeuf mariné - à point) frites and paired it with a glass of 2022 Fruit Sauvage Clos de Caveau. I’d definitely return.

Google
Very nice and cosy restaurant at the heart of Paris. We started with beef tartare as entree and continued with Hanger steak as the main course alongside with Morgon red wine. After the meal, we tried French 75 and Basil Smooth as coctails. They were simply amazing. We loved the taste. I strongly recommend this place

Google
This has to be the best food I have had in Paris so far. This is trip 4 for me in Paris. Every recommendation from our waiter was a 10/10. I usually like to try new places but the food was so excellent here I think this is my new go to comfort meal. The portions were perfect. The staff and owner are so nice. If you're visiting Paris sometimes it's overwhelming but the food flavors were so comforting no matter where you are from you will find the flavors you enjoy! I highly recommend Poulette!

We were lucky to snatch a petite table on a Saturday night without a prior reservation. The place was completely packed, very loud, but it didn’t ruin the atmosphere. It was our most delicious experience this time in Paris. The steak - perfect, the chocolate dessert 😭 to die for, it’s just that good. The waitress didn’t really help us with our choices or the wine, though.

Google
Aesthetic and vibey restaurant with chic bar. People are so nice and elegant. Our waiter was such an adorable man. The food was interesting because it wasn’t common french cuisine. They have put a modern twist to it.

Google
We went on a weekday evening without a reservation and luckily managed to find a table. The place was quite crowded, but the service was fast and the staff were attentive. The steak was excellent — perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant, though it was quite noisy, making it hard to hear each other. Overall, the food and service were great; it would be perfect if the place were a bit quieter.

Google
We had an excellent dinner here! The steak frites was delicious and we also tried the fig and ricotta appetizer. The atmosphere is very cozy!

Google
Came here without a reservation but managed to snag a spot for two. Absolutely beautiful location and lovely vibes. The servers were quick and kind. My boyfriend and I split the falafel appetizer and both ordered their steak with fries and it was more than enough. So delicious and wish I had more room to finish it all. It was my favourite dinner of my entire Europe trip.

Yelp
Good restaurant but could be better. Service was good. We also had an 8pm reservation but came at opening and they were able to accommodate. The spicy beef nori appetizer was interesting but tasty. For mains, we ordered the octopus and the hanger steak. Octopus was actually cooked well and I was a fan of the veggies it came with. The hanger steak was a bit chewy, which was expected as it is a hanger steak. I wish the fries were crispier too. For the price point, I think there are better restaurants in the city that execute steak and frites a bit better.

Yelp
We picked Poulette as our last dinner in Paris. We are SO glad we did. We started by sharing a delicious rillette, which was just enough to whet the appetite. We both had to have the steak frites, the cut here an onglet, prepared saignant. It was executed perfectly and such a tasty cut of beef. The frites were crispy and light. We were asked if we wanted any ketchup (occupational hazard of being an American tourist I suppose) or other sauces. We politely said it was perfect as-is (to their pleasant surprise). The wine we selected was a perfect pairing, and confirmed by our outstanding waiter, Oscar. Both he, as well as the other staff made us feel exceptionally welcomed and made our dining experience a joy. We chatted with Oscar a bit to get to know him, and he surprised us by including a digestif on the house. Merci Oscar! Highly recommend a meal at Poulette!

Yelp
It was a great experience for us. The food was excellent and the service on point. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

Yelp
Food, service & ambiance exactly what we were looking for and was recommended by our ARBNB host. Would recommend for $$$$

Yelp
Ate here a couple of times during week's stay in Marais district. Really nice folks and fast service. The steak frites were delicious. Nice and tender. I had a cod dish the second time. Also excellent. Daughter, 11, loved this place. She was only kid in the restaurant.

Yelp
Poulette was so good that we went back twice for the duck which was the best duck my husband and I have ever had!!!! Everything we had was delicious. We tried the steak frites which was a little more rare than American medium rare but still delicious, the veal with tuna sauce which was surprisingly good, and the tuna ceviche which was very light bright and balanced. The ambiance and decor were perfect and the wine and cocktails wonderful too! Will definitely return during future trips to Paris!

Yelp
I was in Paris for 8 days, and ate out 3 times daily (so we experienced a lot of restaurants). This was by far, hands down, my favorite restaurant I ate at in Paris! If you're in Paris- do yourself a favor and eat here. Amazing and beautiful ambience, and the food was something I'd return to again easily. The best pork belly I've ever had in my life. The steak and frites were also amazing. 10/10

Yelp
Poulette is a beautiful restaurant with art nouveau decor and adorable tiled walls. I would recommend coming here for drinks with friends to take cute pictures and have an amazing aesthetic moment. However, I probably wouldn't recommend it for a full meal. I had the hangar steak which came out quite cold and wasn't memorable. My fiancé was also not very happy with his entree.

Nick G.

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance and friendly staff. Our server spoke English well and was able to help us order. We took our kids with us and were able to have a lovely dinner and enjoy the decor and atmosphere together.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
Menu is different than desribed on the web but still very good and based on quality fairly priced. The wines are biodynamic which might not be everyone's cup of tea. Both cocktails I had were good. The steak I got was more rare than medium rare but that is common to be off which is why I order medium rare as fine with rare to medium. Place is the jewel box as written by others. It is Small so recommend reservation.

Yelp
Traditional French dishes with a flair served by efficient "hipsters" staff. For appetizers we order the asparagus and shredded duck which were both rich with flavor. I had the steak frites entree which was perfectly prepared. This was our second visit, once in 2016 and now in 2022.

Yelp
Highly recommend this charming bistro on the right bank. Everything was delicious and the decor puts it over the top. I'll be back!

Matt B.

Yelp
This place was fantastic! Steak frite was excellent and the wine was so good! Our server was so nice and treated us so well! Highly recommend

Priya R.

Yelp
Delicious cocktails. I had the Paloma and the spicy margarita. The margarita was light and refreshing. We ordered the steak and sea bream and both were good!
google avatar

Jacob W.

Yelp
Platonic ideal of an excellent traditional top notch dinner in Paris. Lovely interior, lively vibe, not too big or too small, a menu with just enough choices that are all well executed, attentive but not invasive service. I return whenever I can.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
Very nice local spot with a great atmosphere, great service and menu. The food was amazing and I highly recommend the Steak Frites.
google avatar

Shawn S.

Yelp
This is a charming 15 table restaurant that is a great choice in the area near Centre Pompidou, a little away from the touristy area. They make excellent craft cocktails and have a good wine list. High ceilings, lots of mirrors, tile walls, but not overly noisy. The menu is limited. I had the hangar steak and ordered it medium and should have ordered it medium well for my taste. The fois gras was excellent and there were good seafood options. No room for dessert unfortunately!
google avatar

Cameron R.

Yelp
The cocktails were great, bread was really good and samosas were amazing. Staff were very friendly and relatively quick for France. Superb as hell

Sydni G.

Yelp
Nourriture délicieuse. Bon service. Espace encombré, mais une excellente expérience. Les serveurs étaient fantastiques et incroyablement amusants et heureux d'être là.

Eli L.

Yelp
Poulette gets it right! Delicious food, friendly and bilingual service, and gorgeous decor.

Yelp
Let's just say I walked through the door because of my poor French spelling. I had my wife and two kids in tow. Although Poulette may not be geared toward kids, they were welcomed warmly. The cocktails were fantastic - the best I've had on this trip! I had grilled octopus; my wife had polenta; and my kiddos split the hanger steak and frites. The flavors were delicious -- creative, yet comfortably familiar -- and the presentation beautiful. The local bread was treat as well. We finished with the poached pear which was perfectly prepared and left us wanting to taste just a bit more of the poaching liquid...er, syrup. But what made it the best restaurant experience I've had in Paris was the service. I wish I knew our waitress' and bartender's names because they deserve to be recognized for there care and attention to detail. Hope I get to visit Poulette again!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful building! Seriously, tile paintings, crown molding, wood everywhere, and hanging plants all over the place. The food is equally enjoyable, though they have a tiny menu so you better have an open mind (or, just look at the pictures of the menu that other people have posted). I had their specialty, the onglet marine with frites (marinated hanger steak with fried). Fantastic! The wine selection is excellent as well. I do recommend making a reservation or getting in early, because this place sits maybe 35 people.

Mike K.

Yelp
Loved our dinner at Poulette! Great little restaurant with nice seating both inside and outside while serving amazing dishes. The Steak Frites was the best! The service was exceptional too. Thank you!

Jim K.

Yelp
We have been disappointed by a number of older bistros, but this modern bistro has all the passion of the new millennial chefs, great ingredients, and excellent service. You must make reservations ahead as it's deservedly popular. The cocktails are wonderful and creative, mixed by a bartender who clearly loves what he does, my no complements! We had the Squash flower entree which was a delicious starter, and I had the pork- pan seared with a savory Demi-glacé and tiny potatoes. Everything was a step beyond the usual fare. Recommended!

Yelp
What a beautiful, romantic place! I arrived when they opened like a true American, and I was immediately seated at the bar. The menu was typical French and simple. Even though they provided an English menu (usually a sign of caution for the French as an inauthentic restaurant), I was among several Parisians who were there for after work drinks. I ordered the ongelet which came with a salad and frites for a mere €29. The steak was a decent portion, not too small, and the frites were perfectly done! The service was great as well, and I finished the meal w/a pot de creme so large that I was only able to get through 25% of it. I'd return here in a heartbeat!

Yelp
All around one of our favorite meals in Paris this time...the restaurant is small and charming with antique tiles that communicate a wonderful sense of place. Somehow the restaurant felt both traditional and at the same time, very hip; I don't know how to explain that feeling but I liked Poulette from the moment I sat down. The service was friendly and struck a nice balance between attentive and allowing us time to enjoy the meal. Overall very comfortable energy. And the food was extremely well executed, from a fine steak frites to a lovely vegetarian couscous dish. Yes the menu is short but I prefer that, personally, to a long menu that is haphazardly executed. Watching the other tables be served, every dish that came out looked like something I'd want to eat. I came in expecting a good lunch and my expectations were wildly exceeded. We will be back!

Yelp
Tremendous neighborhood spot. Relaxed and delicious, with impressively quick & welcoming service. My wife and I got off a plane from America, wanted French steak dinner to start off our trip and Poulette hit the spot. We each ordered the Steak Frites with red wine and after 10 days of fine dining throughout France it was still one of our most enjoyable meals we had on our trip. The steak was juicy with a touch of salt to enhance the flavor, and the fries were fresh / sweet / crunchy. To Americans who might compare, the fries reminded me of In & Out but only better. Thank god we stumbled upon Poulette on Yelp.

Yelp
Great french restaurant serving local dishes. Portion are small compare to U.S but it's the quality of fresh food wins me over. Good for group of friends and good selection of wines.

Yelp
This place was a major disappointment at a high price. The main dishes do not come with any sides, so you are expected to order them individually, racking up the price for something that should reasonably be included in the dish. As a result you are left with a choice between just the main element of a dish (e.g. Pork) with nothing with it, or a hefty price for what is still less than a reasonable serving. We ordered a vegetarian plate and the travers de porc laquée. The pork was almost all fat and bone. The vegetarian plate was a grain with a couple of carrots on it. Both dishes lacked in substance. What there was of the pork was tasty, but there was really nothing there. The vegetarian plate was incredibly bland. The wine was heavy in tanin, which was to be expected from a Cotes du Rhones, with notes of black current, but lacking in body and not worth the six euros the glass cost. There is no option on the menu for a pichet of house wine or anything reasonable. In summary, terrible price/quality ratio. I'm surprised they can get away with serving so little, such unimaginative dishes, and poor to mediocre food at such a high price. We left the restaurant after paying our 50 euro bill about as hungry as we came in, and fantasizing about other restaurants we could walk straight to.

Yelp
Really nice place! Great vibe! Great staff, very kind. Great wine; great salad, great fries...TERRIBLE steak. Great sauces on the steak but the steak itself.... Not edible. I'm sorry everything else amazing. Bad meat quality. However I would definitely come back and eat something else because I love this place, just change your meat! Thank you!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We ordered a steak and frites but tge steak was definitely burned and cooked too thouroughly even though I like rare to med. rare. The bordeaux that was reccomended to us was by far the worst wine we had in France. None of us liked our meals really.

Yelp
Another solid Paris dinner destination! I was craving steak frites, and Poulette came up as a solid rec on Yelp so we decided to give it a shot. We arrived without reservations on a weeknight and the restaurant was nearly packed, but we were able to score the last free table. We skipped starters and went straight for the main course. Poulette's menu is very small, with only a handful of main dishes and sides. Of course, I chose the steak frites, and received a very tender steak with fries and a salad. I love when steak frites comes with a salad too! It's the perfect mix of protein, starch and a little bit of greens. My husband had the chicken, but I think he secretly wished for my steak. He definitely won with his side of potatoes gratin, however. These were insanely buttery and cooked to perfection. Do not miss this side dish! Poulette has a nice wine list but also very delicious cocktails as well. For dessert, we had a chocolate tart and orange panna cotta, both of which were nice. The staff were all very friendly and contributed to yet another lovely evening in Paris.

Yelp
This is our favorite steak frites place in Paris. We have visited twice and will continue to go back! The decor is beautiful and unique with tile work along the wall. Our waitress was friendly and eager to assist with translating the menu. Her recommendations were on point, not only food wise but also for wine. Overall, a great experience. - mushroom medley with poached egg and whipped Parmesan - steak frites - monkfish cheeks - roasted pears

Yelp
My mom and I went to Poulette for our first dinner in Paris, and had a top notch experience. We arrived promptly for our 7:45 reservation and the server sat us right away- I suggest making a reservation as it gets crowded and it's a small place! Can't say enough about our server, he was lovely and warm and made us truly feel welcome. We were amongst quite a few other Americans, but there were still French people there for drinks at the bar and dinner with friends so it didn't feel too touristy. The food was fabulous. The wine delicious. And they make a mean Old Fashioned. They also have tables out front for people watching, though the restaurant is so pretty I would choose to sit inside! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Very cute little French bistro known for it's Steak Frites. The Steak Frites did not disappoint, but I felt the star was the pan seared duck that we also ordered. The duck was so juicy and the sauce was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this place! Service was quick and friendly. English was no issue.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with Art Nouveau tiles covering all the walls, vintage zinc bar, very amiable staff and delicious and well-executed menu where steak frites star alongside seasonal dishes. Check @pouletterestaurant for visuals posted by enthusiastic patrons. You will not find better value for money and in a gorgeous 19th century registered historical landmark. Bravo, Poulette!
google avatar

Marine B.

Yelp
It is a good restaurant, the food is overall a success, and the place is very classy. However, it lacked a little je-ne-sais-quoi (probably just quantities, actually) to justify the price level: €18 for a dish, €9 for a dessert, but such small portions / healthy take on the dishes that you end up slightly hungry at the end. I wouldn't come back for that reason, but it might be a very good spot if you have less of an appetite than I do :)
google avatar

Meg F.

Yelp
Ordered steak frites and was very good. Has great, friendly service. I highly recommend if you are looking for good fish or steak. Easy to make reservations and quick in and out! My friends ordered fish and liked their meals as well.
google avatar

Eddy P.

Yelp
"Do you think 'poulette' means 'girl chicken'?" "You mean a hen?" Came here because of the NYT 36 hours on the right bank article. VERY beautiful space (tres romantique), filling portions, and courteous service even to us non-French speakers. While we enjoyed our steak frites (Americans be warned that the fries are big like steak fries) I think I'd want to go back to try the rest of the menu which sounded pretty innovative and interesting.
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
We came here for the steak frites, which were good. We also ordered the clementine dessert, which was underwhelming. The place seemed quite trendy and filled quickly. We didn't have reservations but were there before the dinner crowd started arriving
google avatar

Stephanie F.

Yelp
An amazing find in Le Marais. Quick walk from our hotel. Quaint, beautiful and delicious. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks. Really enjoyed the conversation, food and drinks. Perfect!!
google avatar

Christine P.

Yelp
The first thing you notice at Poulette are the mosaics and tiled walls, which give it a classic charm but also a modern, hip feel. The restaurants was a short taxi ride from our hotel in Le Marais. The service was friendly, and our server was very helpful with the menu selections. The gillette de canard was excellent, and I really enjoyed the roasted chicken and carrots.
google avatar

Rachael H.

Yelp
This is the ultimate Parisian dinner experience. Steak and fries with a side salad is on point. We dine here every time we are in Paris. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Amazing steak frites! We saw the pictures and thought it was going to be great. We were not disappointed. Also friendly service and clean restaurant.
google avatar

Sam C.

Yelp
They have a small menu but I think they execute well on whatever they offer. Tried the quail and steak dishes. Both were delicious and not overlooked. The highlight was the creamy mushroom risotto.
google avatar

Alison P.

Yelp
If you're looking for a hearty meal and a delicious cocktail or two (in a beautiful space to boot), Poulette is the spot for you. I sat at the bar and the bartender was so friendly and patient with me - it took me a while to decide and he walked me through the menu while providing cocktail and wine recommendations. The steak frites was pretty good, but it was really the cocktails, wine and dessert (rhubarb tart!) that stood out.
google avatar

Tania M.

Yelp
Definitely the best restaurant in Paris! Everything is delicious. I wish they had more vegetarian options though.
google avatar

Craig B.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant on the right bank, beautiful setting and fantastic food. The wine list has some very good selections to suit every taste or budget. The specialty of the house is steak and fries, like every other restaurant in Paris. But this steak really was special, marinated to perfection and cooked the way you like it! Very lean and a large portion simply fantastic!
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Lovely decor, solid selection of food and charming staff. I enjoyed my meal here (I had what was marked as "Le classique" which is a set menu of steak frites + appetizer or dessert) and would come back if I ever have a craving for steak frites. The waiter(?) /owner(?) also asked us first if we wanted ketchup to go with the fries, which was nice (I can't tell you how many times I got raised eyebrows, rolled eyes, an offended look or anything in between whenever I asked for ketchup at other restaurants). My only issue is that while the food is good, it is still just steak frites... And their choices of the menu are rather limited. Nothing fancy shmancy about the food here. So go here if you really want steak frites and some simple dessert (like a soft chocolate cake or a chocolate chip cookie... I thought the cookie was both cute and funny- everything about this place is sort of like a "tourist's dream version of Paris" with its Art Deco interior, no nonsense traditional fare of food items, and a charming French man bringing you your food... Then you get a chocolate chip cookie -perhaps one of the most American snacks- for dessert :) The cookie was good though!)
