Pousada Arte Urquijo Paraty

This place is worth staying at, good staff, secure and clean. However, this historical neighborhood should come with a warning. The streets are very uneven because of large round stones of all sizes, There are no accommodations for those who are in wheelchairs or for those who have impaired walking abilities. That said, this facility is interestingly decorated, and breakfast is as charming as can be as you dine on beautifuly decorated and imported China. What i did not like are the thin walls where you can hear your neighbors pass gas and other things of carnal nature. The stairs are very narrow and will pose a challenge for heavy luggage.

Beautifully decorated and kept inn right in Paraty's historic centre. Absolutely pristine in terms of cleanliness - I've never been in a hotel so clean. The staff of women are incredible - warm and kind and helpful. I don't speak Portuguese, except for the owner they don't speak much English, but they were so ready to help me and to provide recommendations. Great breakfast and again the lovely lady making breakfast wrote out the names of Brazilian foods I didn't know. The room was beautifully decorated in keeping with the feel of the historic building. The bed was very comfortable with lovely soft sheets, all the amenities you need. Loved the hammock on the balcony. There's a nice little swimming pool at the back to dip in on a hot day and a bar if you need refreshment. It's in a great location in the historic centre, easily walkable to everywhere you'd want to see in Paraty, but on quite a quiet street so it is nice and calm. Very close to the little port for boat trips and on the same street as the cultural centre and right next to the little theatre. Lots of cafes, shops and restaurants within minutes of walking. I would highly recommend staying here.

Had a very pleasant stay even though I was in town on business. The pousada is super cosy and the decor is very unique. The staff is amazing and my thank you goes to Marineth, Angelica and Kassinha. We all had a great stay.

Our entire stay in Paraty got upgraded thanks for this charming place and it’s nice people. a characteristic, traditional and elegant building in the heart of old city Paraty, beautiful views from the room and the most welcoming crew and staff. Breakfast was superb! We will definitely come back once in Paraty

The best part of this colonial style pousada is the warm staff. They welcomed me like family. Marizete, Angela and the owner Maria Cruz are just wonderful people. Maria Cruz’s art is beautiful and is displayed in the very nicely decorated lobby.

The most unique place to stay in Brasil. Fantastic breakfast, wonderful staff, in the heart of the old district of Paraty, charming character room, and should not be missed. Obrigada

Our stay here was amazing. First, they followed all covid protocols and ensured we were safe at all time. Our room was always clean and we were never without necessities. Everything from clean towels to working WiFi, was perfect. In addition, the staff was incredibly helpful, assisting us with reservations for sailing, dinner, tours, etc. ||||The pousada itself is beautiful, with plenty of art and decoration. The breakfast was always nice. The location also means that we were close to all the activities we wanted to do without having spend too much time walking.

One of the best pousadas I ever stayed. The owner was lovely, very helpful, not to mention an amazing artist. The staff was so friendly, the breakfast was a delight. Every morning I woke up exited for breakfast. The place was very romantic and detailed oriented. It smells amazing when you walk into your room, very clean. Super close to the boats and located in the quiet area inside of the historical center. Super duper recommend this pousada.
