Lovely residence with clean, peaceful, comfortable rooms. Amazing breakfast with fresh fruit, delicious baked goods, and good coffee. Quiet and safe street near scenic overlook. Host is helpful and accommodating. Absolutely exceeded my expectations!

We stayed for one night on a visit to Salvador and it was fabulous. The guesthouse is very clean and our rooms and beds were comfortable. The house itself has an old world charm and elegance and feels very calm and peaceful throughout. It is in the quieter part of Santo Antonio but within a 15 minute walk to the Pelourinho, as well as close to several good and inexpensive restaurants. Zelina was so helpful and provided us with lots of information for getting around, as well as help with taxis and reservations when needed. The breakfast was amazing with lots of fresh fruit, freshly made juice and breads. It was a fantastic place and I highly recommend it.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Rooms and common areas are very charming and everything is super clean. Staff spoke a bit of English and Spanish and were super sweet and friendly so communication wasn't too much of a problem. I booked a room with shared bathroom but got one with an ensuite for no extra cost (although I guess this would depend on availability on the day). There was a great little book in the room with heaps of tips about Salvador which I wish I had from the beginning of my stay in Salvador. The breakfast was lovely and included a number of different things. I stayed here alone and felt completely safe. I previously stayed at another place in the Pelourinho but I much preferred this neighbourhood.

We are a group of 9 women from Denmark, who lived in the lovely Pousada Baluarte in Salvado in March 2016. Already in the hall, we felt welcome and cozy and the well-appointed rooms turned out to be the perfect setting for our stay in Salvador. The building is beautifully renovated and everything was well maintained and clean.|We started the day with a nice and healthy breakfast served at the times that suited us. We saw Zelina was a positive and helpful host who was always ready to order taxi, show roads on maps, providing information about the city - and also be available with what we needed.|Pousada Baluarte is places in the beautiful, historic part of town Pelourinho, dated from colonization time.|We can absolutely give our warmest recommendations to Zelina and her well-appointed and cozy pousada, which is good choice whether you come alone, as a couple, family or like us in a group.|

I stayed at Pousada Baluerte in February 2016. From the initial booking the Pousada whilst in London to arriving in Brazil, Zelina was very efficient and extremely helpful. I found the accomodation clean, fresh sheets, maid service daily. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of local fresh fruit and juice daily. The bread rolls were also fresh daily.||Zelina also had maps and assisted with local information about where to go and what to do. In particular, I booked a trip to Priaea do Forte through her.||I would highly recommend staying in this Pousada. I was travelling alone and safety was therefore very important to me. The Pousada itself was very safe, someone always there. Also the area San Antonio within which the Pousada is located is also very safe. I could walk at night well usually this was about 8/9pm for me (if alone) to go for a meal and back to the Pousada because there were lots of people about and military police.||San Antonio is a very very pretty little village.||My only advice is not to book during Carnival. One night during Carnival will set you back 100 pounds instead of the usual 20 -30 pounds!

The Pousada is very well decorated, super clean, well located and the breakfast is excellent. |We had the suite which was pretty good though the bathroom could be a little better...|Service was good though shy. |They suggest a pick up service at the airport, that's 3 times more expensive than uber, so don't take it. Go for Uber. |But I recommend it for sure.

Posada Baluarte is in a very interesting part of Salvador, the old and most typical one.||The road is quiet and the house is cozy and tipical, with a very nice view. the interiors are clean and well furnished, with taste and very comfortable.||Breakfast is on a nice balcony open air with fresh fruits and tasty cakes. The owner is nice and friendly, professional and discrete. The room is with air con, private bathroom, evrything is super clean, in colonial style. I strongly reccomend this place for a pleasant and safe holiday.
