Pousada Convento Tavira

Just back from 10 days in the Convento and it totally exceeded expectations. We were in room 13 , a fabulous room , if you get the choice. ||Where to start , location of the hotel is excellent a few short steps to the centre of things, lots of restaurants, cafes , shops etc. the comfort level in the hotel is superb , beds are great , linens and pillows are fabulous. The breakfast is amazing , everything you can imagine is available and plentiful. Special shout out to Marco and Karim for their service ||Service is good , my only tiny negative is that they do need more staff, in the day it can be hard to find someone and the bar is rarely manned. That being said it is quiet in the day , we were often the only people by the pool. ||I would 100% recommend this hotel and will definitely return to the same hotel if I return to Tavira ( which is also highly recommended )

My stay at Pousada Convento de Tavira left me with excellent memories. All the staff is immensily kind and efficient. The architecture and interior refurbishment is precious. The small museum deserves a visit. Cleanliness is spotless. The food mixes typical regional with international cuisine and deserves the highest rating. Breakfast is all too tempting. All Pousadas de Portugal offer exquisite services and accommodation but this one in Tavira was exceeding.

Brilliant - flawless. A beautiful hotel, we had a lovely suite with all the amenities we could want. The separate living area was brilliant and comfortable. The team made my birthday even better by leaving cake and Fizz - thank you so much. ||Breakfast was generous and really well provisioned with a wide range of products to eat. We had dinner once and the food and cooking were of a high standard. Your team are a credit to you, helpful, knowledgeable and supportive ||The pool area is comfortable and a nice place to sit on a hot day. ||This is the second time we've stayed, and the experience has been brilliant - we will most certainly be back again...||

What a delightful experience. Amazing and stunning hotel. Great location- in the heart of town- and in a quiet area. Kind and helpful staff. Beautiful and elegant decoration. Delicious breakfast with all kind of options. Everything you can think of. All fresh and homemade. Had a chef going from table to table asking if we wanted something special to be cooked for us. A plus. Great service. Highly recommended. Just a detail: A 5* Hotel like Pousada Convento Tavira should have slippers in the room. Obligatory.

Such a lovely welcoming place full of character. Our room was better than our expectation, so comfy and spacious with a lovely view. The food throughout the day was excellent. All the staff the staff were helpful. Tavira is a beautiful place to stay and the hotel is ideally situated for exploring.

Have visited this lovely place multiple times on this viait to Tavira. Both the bar and restaurant staff are amazing. The building itself is breathtaking. I would definitely recommend taking the time to enjoy all this lovely hotel has to offer both to its guests as well as the public. Make sure to go for breakfast as it has the best breakfast in town by far.

The hotel is very central, the pool area is very nice. The staff are friendly, Our room was nicely furnished and clean. The cold breakfast choice was excellent, but the hot breakfasts were just various dishes kept warm. For €350 a night I would expect a choice of freshly cooked food, such as Eggs Benedict. However the room was extremely hot. Whilst there was air-conditioning the system was very old. When the fan was put on it sounded like a jet engine taking off. As a result we really struggled to sleep. The room was either very hot, or very noisy. Whilst I complained about this, someone did come to look at the air-con, but could do nothing. It was suggested they could move us to a different, but smaller room. When I asked to see the room they said I could not until had been cleaned. They never came back to me to tell me when this had been done. I needed to check whether the aircon was just as noisy. Whilst reception were very apologetic, when I asked for a discount as we had not been able to sleep and they had not resolved the problem, they simply said they were not authorised to give any reductions. We would not return.

Had to leave Portugal early after a two week stay at several different hotels on my way south from Lisbon. Two of those were from the Pestana group, but the Pousada de Tavira was probably the most disappointing, I had to leave a day early do to the new covid restriction in Portugal. I had booked for three nights which I payed for up front, after staying only two nights they would not refund me one night even though it was because of the result of covid, it was also to expensive considering if was off season and the buffet was probably the worst I had on my entire trip. For the cost the room was small.
