My husband and I stayed here for a week and would go back in a flash. It is a beautiful, spacious historic facility. They have done a wonderful job of maintaining and respecting the history of the site, including hosting a small museum, while providing modern services and convenience. It is in the center of Tavira so it was easy to pop back in between exploring the town and planning our next meal. The restaurant was great, we had lunch there on arriving after a long overnight of travel and felt restored immediately. The breakfast buffets offered a full range from fresh fruit and homemade yogurts to local pastries as well as bacon, eggs etc. Plus you can ask the kitchen for eggs or pancakes. There are only about 40 rooms so nothing is ever crowded, there is always room at the pool or dining room. Our room was comfortable and quiet.
